Copenhagen Airport Shutdown - Grounded Planes during Corona Virus

- Airborne Cinematics went airborne to document some truly unique scenes at Copenhagen Airport.
In accordance with Air Traffic Control we were able to make this photoshoot with around 10 low-passes and fly-bys.
With around 99% of passenger flights cancelled, most gates and terminals are completely abandoned while other parts of the airport are full of stored planes. Keeping these planes stored is quite hard work, as every plane has to get a maintenance check every few weeks. At least once a week they are towed around to make sure the wheels are kept in good condition.
For this film, we rented an aircraft at Copenhagen AirTaxi in Roskilde Airport.

Great video! We flew over Schiphol Amsterdam Airport and made a similar video. Very surreal to see.
This reminds me of my planespotting holiday at Copenhagen Airport in 2010. Shortly after landing almost the entire European airspace closed because of the ashcloud of an Icelandic volcano. Stayed five nights at the Hilton Airport Hotel (now Clarion) with a great view of the terminal piers. Not a single aircraft moved during that time. Had to take a train back home. Unfortunately the current shutdown will have a much greater effect on airlines and the economy.
Nice but sad views of Kastrup Airport, "Flyvegrillen" is my favourite spot near the threshold of 22R

Fantastic video! Who would have thought camera shots over the airport would ever be possible. What a sad sight though. That ATIS is somewhat nervewhacking and apocalyptic.

With airports shutdown, they look like huge model airport collections.

Freighters are still active and now flies during daytime too. Some regular passenger planes are being turned into cargo planes - the first one arrived a few days ago

Where is Norwegian !
Henrik Loevbjerg Norwegian aircraft is mainly parked at SVG, BGO, TRD and OSL due to Norways airport authority Avinor offering free parking to help in this difficult situation.
There were at least 4 Norwegian Boeing 787's in this video
