    I had 21 ft a CS bought brand new and had nothing but issues, constant water intrusion and hundreds of cracks...I wish you the best with your boat

    This would be my boat of choice. Certainly will check with dealer before pulling the trigger. Hoping this was isolated event (s) as Carolina Skiffs have a good history in manufacturing. That’s a lot of defects for one boat. Hope they repaired it all. Thanks for posting !

      I've learned the boat was used in the early 2022 Miami Boat Show and that's likely where most of the gel damage occurred. It took me reciting the warranty statement word for word (about ability to return to the plant for warranty review and repair) in an email to Carolina Skiff's warranty department (which also included the CEO's email address) at which time the warranty contact changed his tune from saying the Manufacture plant doesn't have a service department to a reply they would be happy to bring my boat in for repair.
      I dropped it off November 9th and after 2.5 months I'm told and I quote "We are getting closer but we have had some overall delays in our patch and repair and final finish departments so all boats are taking a little longer - but we are working through it and as we do get closer we will keep you up to date - thank you"
      January 10th (2 months after drop off) I asked if I could be given a expected completion date. The reply
      "Because of multiple departments on the production line evaluating and repairing this boat it is not possible to get an exact ETA on the overall completion - as the boat moves up the line and gets closer to completion we will be able to give you a better idea and when we can do that we will be glad to let you know - thanks"
      Jury is still out on my thoughts toward Carolina Skiff's 2023 value.

      I'll comment or send out how well they do on the repairs through a dealer. I'm not trying to say they're all bad boats that they put out but do your due diligence going through every item before you decide to buy. I can kick myself for going ahead and accepting the boat even though I did find some of the defects at the dealer but the dealer gave me a price discounts and we had a 4-Hour drive back and needed to get going.

      @@Matrixticity looking forward to see. I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on ordering a 19' ultra elite, but keep coming across videos like this. Making me hesitant considering the closest dealer is over an hour and a half away.

    • @pigzilla11

      Why did you accept this boat, you should have checked it throughly before buying it for 80k. I know people get excited about buying but you have to be very diligent when spending that type of money.

    • @Matrixticity
      @Matrixticity  2 года назад

      @@pigzilla11 Yea the things I did see, the dealer marked up as no big deal and easy fixes. I work and because of financing I had to make the deal on a weekday. We drove over 4 hours down to south Florida to get the boat and after already sending a required wire transfer we were rushed and fairly committed.
      I almost walked from the deal and I'm usually not one to "accept" something but we did. And after all the mess we want through with a Nauticstar, we were worn. Lol
      There are many things you don't think of checking but once home and washing it down and adding necessities, that's when you really touch and operate items and this is where the defects stood out.

    Carolina Skiff was on my list. Not any longer. I don’t like the premium of the Grady/Whaler but will most likely go that route.

    Thank you for sharing this. Did the dealer/manufacturer make it right and fix these things? Whoever is inspecting these boats before delivery is not doing their job. And The dealer should have caught alot of this stuff. This is why it's important to do a thorough inspection before taking ownership at the dealer.

      Just watched your video. I’m so sorry that you had that happen, it should have been a happy and exciting time with your new boat. I was just wondering it’s been 3 years since the purchase of your boat how did it all end.

    Its a Carolina skiff, what did you expect? Unfortunately I think people should start having a survey done on new boats. I bough a key west fs and the factory forgot to attach the deck drains and the live well hoses to the top half of boat before joining. I missed the first 2 seasons with the boat because it took so long for Coty marine in toms river NJ and Key west to fix it.

    • @Matrixticity

      I did a lot of research before buying and there weren't many reviews to be found about this boat. No bad ones. It's not a horrible boat but we expect much more when paying a new boat cost.

    A lot of this could have been easily avoided if you had done a complete inspection before signing the deal. This workmanship or lack thereof, is unacceptable on a new boat.

  • @robo5987

    All of this is supposed to be taking care of by the dealer before you ever see it. This probably is really the dealerships fault for not going through the boat before they gave you the damn thing. Shame on them and shame on Carolina's skift for putting out a product like this!!!!

    Have you gotten the boat back?

    • @Matrixticity
      @Matrixticity  2 года назад

      Sadly no. On the 9th of February the manufacturer will have been "working" on my boat for 3 months and still won't give me an estimated delivery time.
      If you'd like, read my reply from our of the other comments as it includes what the Warranty department is informing me.
      I'm not even confident they will replace the mis matched tower or top to eliminate the gaps. I'm told that's common because the connection plates are welded by hand onto the tower. I questioned weather they use a jig to insure proper placement but I received no reply.

      After 2 trips to Waycross I got the boat back in great physical condition. New T top and anodized framing that matches the conture properly. Only problem was when changing the binnacle they mixed up the throttle and shifting rods. That point they told me I needed to go to a authorized dealer to have it corrected otherwise I might void the warranty to the boat and the engine. Another two-hour drive and hassle to take care of that

    • @Matrixticity

      I was lucky the dealer with the Nauticstar took the boat back. Especially since the underside of the console has written Trash on it. Happy that didn't work out since this is Nauticstar last year as it's parent company is closing it down.

    • @Matrixticity
      @Matrixticity  7 месяцев назад

      @@robgover8341No it was a 0 hour boat. The boat was taken to the Miami Boat Show. That's likely where the T top had gotten chipped. Carolina Skiff replaced the top and all has been good so far. I do have a couple of gel air pockets that chipped out but that's not the end of the world.

      @@tstanley01lol I'm sure any dealer is thrilled to sell to you. Have you ever worked with a boat dealer on warranty work. This boat spent 2 months in Orlando dealer before they called me and said come get your boat without any work completed because they determined it would take too much time for them to repair properly. Other dealers said they would look at it but they need a few months no promises. Then the Factory finally accepted to take it back and they had it for 3 months. I guess it's ok to have that 80 million dollar Gulfstream out of service (without loss of use and depreciation reimbursement) for 6 months because it's in need of warranty work due to manufacturers poor quality control. After all, that's what warranty is for.😅
