    Hi Audrey, you went through a really tough time and it looks like you took like a champ. It’s wonderful to hear everyone is doing well, thanks God and many blessings to you and your family. Your work is beautiful! A tip to avoid ladders don’t pull the first stitch tight (in second needle) instead pull the second stitch. If you want there are very good RUclips videos that show you how to, one of my go to is Very Pink knits, her videos are short and very easy to follow. For your socks yarn keep in mind that if they don’t have nylon or silk on it they won’t last for you very long because the friction will create whole on them. All the best!!

      Thank you for watching and for the great tips!! I’ve heard that a blend is definitely more durable for socks so I will be on the look out for that going forward!!

    I was a crocheter for some years and began knitting when recovering from cancer surgery. I always wanted to knit and said this is my chance to learn, so became determined to learn. Hope you stay cancer free and glad to hear that your daughter is healthy.

    Hello Audrey, it’s nice to meet someone from my home state. I grew up in the East Valley (Gilbert). My husband and I moved outside of Nashville in December of 2014. My sister lives in Surprise.
    I learned to crochet when I was 12 and decided I wanted to learn to knit. So I started watching RUclips to learn in January of 2020 - right before the world shut down.
    Thank you for sharing your multi-crafting journey!

    Lovely, lovely podcast which popped up on my feed & I'm so glad it did! Really liked your content, and you have a lovely voice which is ideal for podcasting 😊Looking forward to your next adventures, and I'm definitely checking out your book channel as I am also a reader. I love that your are knitting a blanket for your daughter, she will treasure it for years! Only yesterday evening, my 10 year-old daughter was snuggling on the sofa (it is cold now here in Paris!) with the blanket my own mum knitted for me when I was born. Our whole family loves it, and it has become a family treasure of sorts, so it's so lovely that you are knitting one for your daughter! Take care x

    I subscribed right away. You are delightful and I love you video. I'm going to check out your other podcast, now. Can't wait for more of these.. I'm 72 and a crocheter since my 20's and a knitter since I was 5. Love both. Working on faux fur bucket hats for gifts, plus knitting fingerless gloves and crocheting sweater for one of my granddaughters (have 8 grandchildren, 4 girls, 4 boys). Also, crocheting a blanket and putting together a square's christmas blanket. Always busy with yarn in my hands. Makes me happy. Sending love,hugs,prayers. ( love babies)

    Okay you are seriously cute and probably old enough to be my granddaughter. I have two boys always wished I had a daughter. Congratulations on getting through the cancer crap, I have skin cancer which raises its ugly head now and again. Good on you for knitting in AZ, I have a dear friend who lives in Chandler. I hate the heat and love the weather here in Colorado, always tell her there’s no way in hell I’m living in a state where I need oven mitts to drive my car and my skin peels off on the seats when I sit down. You are doing well with knitting and it’s great we can rip our mistakes out. I’ve been knitting since I was five years old. Well enough prattling keep on podcasting. Mountainpurl aka Kathy.

    New subscriber! You popped up in my feed today. I enjoyed hearing about your projects. I also looovvvee that you are using Lion Brand Yarn for one and didn't gauge swatch for another. I think a lot of us knitters and crocheters do things are aren't considered "cool" or "recommended" sometimes. Just because. So thanks for being real. And inspirational! Your projects are beautiful. Great first podcast!! As others have mentioned, there are lots of objects that require only one skein of fingering weight yarn! I like to go on ravelry, go to the patterns search, and click "search" without typing anything in the box so that you see everything. Then you can filter by how much yardage the patterns use. This is really helpful for finding patterns that fit what you already have in stash. Happy knitting!!

    Great job on the podcast! About your sock with the ladder, you should try blocking it. The ladders may come out. I hate ladders, and I still get them even after knitting for over 20 years. I can avoid them by pulling the second stitch after switching needles fairly tight. But, if I am not paying attention, I don't do this, and then I wind up with ladders. Looking forward to more podcasts!

    • @AudreysCraftingCorner
      @AudreysCraftingCorner  Год назад

      Thank you so much for watching!! And thank you for the tip. I will try that trick with the second sock and hopefully after blocking the ladder won’t be as noticeable!!🤞

      @@AudreysCraftingCorner Nimblel Needles also has a video on how to fix the yarn a bit so that it kind of pulls it out if the ladder doesn't come out with blocking.
      You'll find a technique that works for you to avoid future ladders.

    You are so nice and thank you for sharing your story. I hope you are well. About the gift knitting, let me tell you my experience, because I have 2 doughters. Knit for your doughter as much as you like and can because they grow fast and we start to have some difficulties in dressing them what we, the mothers, want . They develop a personality and may not like the same things, and some are just little rats that just like to go against us, no matter what. When and if that happens, you may start to gift knitting IF, only IF, you know knit worthy people, because, they are also a rare animal and it's usually the path to disappointment and heartbreak. However, there are some arround. If you find one, knit for that person too, because it's great and it will make you very happy. Knit for yourself also, because you're beautiful and must look amazing in the things that you make for yourself. It will feel very good too. I will keep an eye on your channel....and I send you all my love from Lisbon🥰...😁😉🥰
