this instrumental made me notice the whistling at 5:24 which goes to the tune of "see how i circle" in labyrinth - they go so well together and it elevetes this track so hard it's amazing
that's actually part of the original Demo 4 version. The theory is that after the line "SOME ONE HELP ME", it cuts to the scream before then going towards the original verse of Demo 4 which shares the leimotif of Labyrinth, which then continues into the song See how the brain goes around And you fal inside a hole you couldn't see And you fall inside a hole inside a SOMEONE HELP ME! *scream* See how I laugh at you No you'll never understand it No you'll never understand it No you'll never ever ever understand See how I learn from you No, I'll never ever understand No, I'll never ever ever understand Understand what's going on inside my mind Doctor I can't tell if I'm not me
@@soyrealobvio Esa es la versión de la demo 4 de The mind electric XD ellos están hablando de "Labyrinth" donde con la misma melodía dice "See how I circle", no "See how I laugh at you"
4:57 love the off-kilter piano. when it starts it feels very off-beat and disoriented. that's a cool little detail; this song has so much to appreciate in it.
For some odd reason, at 5:38 I can hear the lyrics almost perfectly if I focus on it enough. I'm probably not the only one but I thought that was pretty interesting.
I used this as the background ambiance for a Mind Flayer hive mind in D&D, with the voices being the thralls they had planted in the city above. It was awesome, and my party loved it.
I use the version with Lyrics for an Artificer Lich who put his mind into his machines and became a living factory. Heart, Mind, and Soul are all in a war. With the body discarded, his human heart is preserved deep in the factory, his soul within his phylactery and his diseased mind trapped in the factory with no conscience or morality.
The reversed part (there’s a comment labelling all the important stuff in it!) seems to be two families having a fight. But they do talk about the ocean and war a lot in this as well. Some of them stating to be afraid of it, but people seem to be talking down to a single person. I want to leave this up to discussion! I love this song and the hidden meanings and messages throughout it, it has so many *L A Y E R S*
i thought that some of the vocal and music samples also might have been things that the character might have heard while in that delirious state (the timbuktu sample kind of sounds like a movie clip or something), which would tie into the sunkist hawaii sample? either way really cool
When I only listened to the final version of the song, I had my own theory of it being about a *minor* sentenced to the electric chair or electroshock therapy. I thought it was this little kid's trial, with various people of the jury crying or interrupting. I swear I heard people going "just a little boy!" and "He's been known to-" in the final version at the beginning. This demo has made me consider something else, however. the "I really have no power over my mind" guy is clearly the same voice as the "crying guy" from the final version, so it's strange that he's the one saying he has no control over his mind if the minor is on trial, which he sounds nothing like. so i have a theory he's the actual defendant, and the little boy/girl's voice is some witness or his kid or something making up a story to defend the guy. the judge saying "Oh?" prompting a response from the small child and it's response of "jumping on the beach of Timbuktu" sounds very made up and exactly what a kid would do to get out of trouble. it's immediately shut down with l o g i c and f a c t s, and the kid just says oh. the judge then comforts the kid with the "at least you tried, I'll give that imagination..." and I can assume he just called it's imagination impressive. i have no idea what the genius soothsayer diviners are about, nor the "ok compadre" xd as for the "You ought to be ashamed of yourself", it starts with a fade in and ends with a fade out, as if someone's saying this as we're walking by. as the song is meant to be a first person view, it's not unlikely that this is some jury member insulting the defendant as they walk by. the demonic and honestly creepily slow "Y O U O U G H T T O B E" might be how it sounded to our insane protagonist. this is all just pieced together from blurbs from this song and my theory of the final version, so it's kinda half assed. In short, guy goes on trial, pleads insanity, some kid witness makes up a story to keep him out of jail, but his story is obviously fake so it does nothing. Guy gets sentenced to electric chair or electroshock therapy anyway, and the final version of TME happens with stuff like lightning striking his temples, electrifying his chambers and scorching out his sovereignty.
I think "Thy genius sates a thirst for trouble" is him realizing it was a mistake pretending to be insane. His 'great idea' of pleading insanity to escape a prison sentence just caused him more trouble, actually going insane.

was listening to the mind electric demos again while writing an essay and the lady spoke "you should be ashamed of yourself" so clearly at 2:07 in my left headphone that i lost my entire train of thought in surprise 💀
2:19 "A-and then they sailed off with some kinda (???)" "They couldn't sail off without (???)" "Why not?" "Because they (???)" If any of you can understand what else they're saying please let me know XD
that moment when you realize you can actually somewhat understand the background voices also I can apparently sing this entire song to myself from memory perfectly on time oh god
Can’t believe I’m still here listening to this banger so many years later, but here we are. I remember showing my boyfriend the song ages ago and he pointed out the fact that the laugh during the final bridge was sampled from the Legend of Zelda 2…
@@maty5591 The voice in that part is slightly higher than all the other low voices, so they probably thought the character saying that line was female.
@@Aloekunyep It can't be "How I fly away", because (in the actual song, Labyrinth) the "fly away" ends in a different note than "circle". "Circle" ends with a deeper note, though "fly away" ends in a higher note.

@@selkiara1272Heart, Mind and Soul?? CHONNY JASH????????
The reversed part (there’s a comment labelling all the important stuff in it!) seems to be two families having a fight. But they do talk about the ocean and war a lot in this as well. I love this song and the hidden meanings and messages throughout it, it has so many *L A Y E R S*
Like a onion! Shrek is proud.
There was something about Timbuktu in there
I heard a little girl and an angry woman, mabey the person the main character murdered and her mom witnessing in court?
i thought that some of the vocal and music samples also might have been things that the character might have heard while in that delirious state (the timbuktu sample kind of sounds like a movie clip or something), which would tie into the sunkist hawaii sample? either way really cool
Someone already commented this, but here’s the link to the original audio that was used: ruclips.net/video/bpEwYJ5GQIM/видео.html
This demo has made me consider something else, however.
the "I really have no power over my mind" guy is clearly the same voice as the "crying guy" from the final version, so it's strange that he's the one saying he has no control over his mind if the minor is on trial, which he sounds nothing like.
so i have a theory
he's the actual defendant, and the little boy/girl's voice is some witness or his kid or something making up a story to defend the guy. the judge saying "Oh?" prompting a response from the small child and it's response of "jumping on the beach of Timbuktu" sounds very made up and exactly what a kid would do to get out of trouble. it's immediately shut down with l o g i c and f a c t s, and the kid just says oh. the judge then comforts the kid with the "at least you tried, I'll give that imagination..." and I can assume he just called it's imagination impressive.
i have no idea what the genius soothsayer diviners are about, nor the "ok compadre" xd
as for the "You ought to be ashamed of yourself", it starts with a fade in and ends with a fade out, as if someone's saying this as we're walking by. as the song is meant to be a first person view, it's not unlikely that this is some jury member insulting the defendant as they walk by. the demonic and honestly creepily slow "Y O U O U G H T T O B E" might be how it sounded to our insane protagonist.
this is all just pieced together from blurbs from this song and my theory of the final version, so it's kinda half assed.
Fancy seeing you here
I think "Thy genius sates a thirst for trouble" is him realizing it was a mistake pretending to be insane. His 'great idea' of pleading insanity to escape a prison sentence just caused him more trouble, actually going insane.

Oh my gosj😻😻Ily
whew, im late to finding this
Maybe nobody believes me, but I saw this vid when it was: uploaded 30 mins ago, I was so amazed of lissening to this, now im back here lissening to this after 6 years, i miss the good old days and this song will always remind me of it
only now did i realize that at 5:24 you can hear someone whistling the chorus of Labyrinth
prepare to whistle
5:00 my favorite part, especially instrumental
The fact I can also simg the reverse part just shows how insane i am
WOAH THIS IS SO GOOD RAHH I LOVE THIS SONG
4:59 - 5:53 this is honestly one of the most brilliant instrumental sections of a song I've ever heard
There's a lot of talk of the ocean and ships and stuff, I kinda imagine this to be related to "Hidden in the Sand." In some way.
"...It becomes possession. They are part of you ... [the victim] becomes a part of you, and you [two] are forever one ... and the grounds where you kill them or leave them become sacred to you, and you will always be drawn back to them"
- Ted Bundy
I feel like, when you hear the small voices in the background, its like hearing voices talk outside your room in a conversation you're not apart of.
0:35 - "your avocado, your people" ????
It's the reverse "by the power of the Apollo"
@@glaciakunoichi7657 *Who speaks with the tongue of Apollo
This song makes me see sounds and hear sights
Schizo experience
I want this played at my funeral
Just me or at 0:42 can you hear the cut bit from demo 4?
It's not cut, the whistling was always kept
If you are referring to the faint piano melody, then yes
Okay I just noticed 2:47 and 3:32 sound exactly the same and I’m so confused because 2:47 is part of the backwards song and 3:32 is part of the forwards song
This sounds like either the audial representation of a dream/ nightmare or the soundtrack to a Netflix series coming 2024
is it weird that i know how to sing most of the backwards part?
No. You reached peak electric mind
That’s badass
That’s so cool, I’ll sing the reverse part when it gets in my head too and not even realize sometimes, it’s ingrained into my mind at this point 😭
I LOVE THE LABYRINTH PART ON 5:24
