Capt America shield is annoying and a good jet pack player is insanely hard to track down. but I love the feel of the guns this season and hope a small nerf to super hero items in a due time will make this season a banger.

That shield is the only broken thing IMO, some people run it with the auto turret, that combo is insane

i started then and honestly i think it was the most balanced of this chapter at the very least. 5 medallions. no op items like shields fists or car upgrades.

I REALLY wanna enjoy the season, but I think the move is Solos and duos. I’ve been attempting squads with some IRLs and it’s just been tough dealing with a team of 4 arsenals with jet packs. Even with bubbles and good mobility. There’s just nothing you can do if you get focused by several players with them. I feel like it’s the mech 2.0. Solos and duos have been great but squads is abysmal
squads has always been abysmal trying to get people to work together
You have to anticipate the things, You Must keep your distance between an squad with full arsenal, just damage enough the enemies SO You can rush now

Tip #1 ALWAYS carry shield bubbles because that war machine nonsense is worse than the magnetos mythic

I’m a bit mixed about this season. I’m a huge fan of marvel and I am happy we’ve finally got another marvel season. The only problem I have with this season is how op everything is. I wished / wish there were some kind of counter or counters to the war machine stuff. Yes there is shield bubbles but they could just walk in it and spam with the war machine stuff. I’m fine with the jet pack and the laser but it’s just the aresenal that I don’t like. I like the striker burst and the dual smg’s as well. They will probably nerf some stuff in a couple of weeks but like I said, I wish there was some type of other counter for the war machine stuff.
It's like y'all forgot Magneto fists & cars were absolutely broken last season with no stamina limit & one hit kill
War machine needs less bullets per overheat, and only like 4 rockets that regen slower.

Rebel's Roost is a good place to land, most of the time nobody else lands there other than bots and there should be like 3 avengers or doom chests in that area

It's good, but I like action in a game. I rather have a game where I finish 10th with like 10-15 kills than getting the W with just 3 kills. It's also better for your rank

This season is f****d already. Way too many special items and they're completely unbalanced. It isn't fortnite, it's some weird superhero game. Epic never learn do they, last season the vehicles were way too much, this season its the marvel special items. Fighting people with the war machine gloves, jetpack, auto turret and Cap shield all at the same time, it's a complete joke
There are some ways to counter these items, but yes I do agree it’s annoying, but I like the battle pass.

Forget everything, make sure you land at a POI with a low landing rate, and make sure you find Shoulder Auto Turret, Captain America’s Shield, and Shockwave Grenade for mobility. Use the shield to cover and spam attack for every encounter whenever you can. This is the safest way to get your first victory.
wouldn't exactly call it the fastest. jetpack lets you clear the map way faster. Good strat tho
hello jake i have been seeing shield block and war machine auto turret comb lately idk what should i do in these situations i try to play distance but they tank it with shield and if i dare to get close it never goes well and my endgames are just this comb people just staring each other behind the shield and wait for the auto turret to do the job (i want to explain this comb in case u never seen it before basically combo is u hold your shield up with war machine auto turret and turret kills the enemy for you while you take basically no damage)
I think problem is the younger kids who love flying and OP items. I'm not saying it's completely un-enjoyable but if we could see Fortnite in this state back in OG season 3, we'd be heartbroken.
I actually really like the Sovereign Shotty. It has for sure grown on me.

Sharing my personal load out
Long range fight (not a lot of good options but we use what we have)
-striker ar with sniper scope, vertical foregrip, muzzle break and drum mag (( you have to lead your shots a little to maximise all bullets to hit unless they are running straight towards you in which case aim at the neck so following shots will land on the head))
Mid range
- dual micro smg ((early to mid game))
-war machine mythic ((mid to late game))
-monarch pistol with red dot, speed mag, muzzle break, laser is optional since it's has some good hip fire accuracy (( i scope in fire a shot jump then fire again once I land, quality over quantity for this gun))
-hyper smg with thermal scope, vertical foregrip, drum mag, silencer ((i typically use this as an ambush gun and it melt unsuspecting players))
Close range
All shot guns are viable personally as I have been having good successes with them so mix and match and have fun with them
My personal favorite mods
-Gate keeper with red dot, angled fore grip, drum mag and muzzle break three well placed shots at most time is enough
Hammer pump with red dot, silencer, speed loader and vertical for grip ((used as an ambush gun as well, land a clean hit on the head then proceed to melt with you mid range weapon, if your confident you can duel with it still))
Sovereign shot gun (( love this ~))
Red dot, vertical foregrip, suprpesor like the monarch pistol quality over quantity, scope in pop head, scope out pelt body with hip fire

changing the key binds for the jet pack helped me so much!
I’d honestly be 100% play with the shield being in the game if you could hit their feet, I’m not sure why’d they punish players for being accurate when aiming at a clear weak spot

I’m having fun for the most part but the jet pack/missile meta is not fun whatsoever. There’s always that one thing that just completely ruins the experience. Caps shield is like having God mode enabled.
The big blue ammo boxes seem to always drop minis and shield bubbles. Another small tip for people wanting shield bubbles. Seems like Epic knew they were going to be very useful this season lol.

I’m over Fortnite, I hang around hoping stuff will get fixed via updates/new seasons but the game gets only worse and awards no skill spam weapons over skill and aim.

Came to Fortnite from Apex. The shotguns and lack of good ranged weapons really stink. I picked up on the Monarch quick, but that's it for what I consider good ranged weapons. They need to fix that.

Does anyone know another good way to counter the shield? I find it really difficult to counter it
Today I’ve had some success running 2 ARs. So Burst AR, Gatekeeper and Striker AR, with heals and jet pack.
Seems a waste to run two ARs, but the burst just hasn’t worked for me against the shield as much as the striker. Yet longer range the burst is so nice to have. Also having a gatekeeper with no drum makes having the striker AR a good switch weapon instead of having to rely on the burst.
Depending on the situation you can either try to stun lock them, if you have cover maybe that’s an option, but if you have little cover I would wait until they throw the shield and beam them with the striker. This is assuming you are not quite shotgun range but close enough that they can maybe hit you with the shield. Also good to have the burst to switch to incase you empty your magazine. And goes without saying that having some decent movement with the jet pack is obviously going to help if both are in the air.
This season feels like a complete 180 from last season. Gone from having more mobility than we know what to do with to having almost zero. It feels like a dramatic shift in terms of the style of play , which is good but will take sum getting used to for sure! Agree that mastering the jet pack and id also say shockwaves are going to be key. Interesting times for sure but try not to get too downhearted or frustrated guys, things will get nerfed and added and removed and we will adapt, because thats what we do and kinda what makes it fun right😁👊💪
If you think about it, the Monarch is basically just the bullet-fed pistol version of the Pulse Rifle

I thought Caps shield was OP but it’s only good within 5 meters, War Machines arsenal can be countered with shield bubbles, the jet pack is OP and needs a fuel recharge nerf, the auto turret is pretty annoying and needs a slight nerf, and the stealth medallion needs a buff or rework. After a hot fix ZB should be more playable

Played a bit more today. Thought I could decently deal with the shield by mag dumping on like like the season 1 ballistic shield but nope. Think I may have to wait for nerfs.
So what is a key combination when it comes to PC? Sprint on shift, crouching on left ctrl and jumping on space.

You can spray them like the Ballistic Shield until they get stunned or you can use War Machine’s arsenal to get splash damage with the rockets. Try jumping over a shield user if you’re in close range.

Yesterday a player was flying towards me with a full War Machine + CA shield in defense. You cant touch him , while he kills you with the lock on and throwing the shield once and a while. Great Fortnite ! .......NOT
The shield is broken. Sometimes it blocks the entire character, sometimes it doesn't.
The most OP thing with the shield is that they made it a heat missle when you throw it lol, no aim required. That part is crazy

Cap's shield- if you throw it beyond a shield bubble and then quickly line up behind it, it will damage the player in the bubble on the return. Cuts right through the bubble like it's not there.
important note about the shield bubble, while it does block Captain America's shield when thrown, the opponent can easily throw the shield to the side and behind you, and it WILL hit you when it returns to that players. same goes for builds if you play that, it will just go through walls on the return and hit you

Carry the 3 backpacks, shield, and heals.. unstoppable
A tip to counter shields is to stay out of range and use cover force them to use movement that doesn't allow to them to use the block button or to use the charge which makes their backside easier to attack
Jet pack and shield is all you need this season. Also highly recommend carrying shield bubble jr to counter the shield.
The Captain America Shield is so annoying to play against atm I've tried spamming the shield with all kinds of weapons but it never seems to break? And as you're reloading, yep, you get hit by it when thrown. Will try using the shield bubbles more. ty, Jake 👍

The war machine mythic really struggles at range when you shoot people from mid to long range and the rockets only have a certain distance where they can’t reach you

I think if your aim is already good you don't have to rely so heavily on aim assidt

Here’s a lil tip if you wanna jump scare a team in island: if you use a jet pack Through a rift it will cancel the glider and your jet pack will be flying so you can just boost and jump scare of island it’s fun
This is the greatest season so far in my opinion! Captain america shield, with auto rocket pack and jet pack is such a frikin awesome and fun combo. I feel like an Avenger lol.
My main issue with the jetpack is multiple times now I've had a jetpack user with the arsenal suddenly appear right above me and there was NO audio or visual cues whatsoever. I'm just suddenly getting bombarded and have no idea where its even coming from. I consider myself a very hyper aware player and I still get caught off guard by this. Not sure if it's an actual bug relating to cues or what but that shits annoying.
Also the jetpack will straight up sometimes be bugged for an entire match where you can't even activate it. So it does seem like there's some bugs revolving around it.
I don't know what to tell you big guy. There is definitely visual cues look at any streamer with the option on. And you can hear the Jets fuming from a freaking mile away.
Note i use $40 headphones & occasionally speakers
is there a potential negative with dropping the emma frost medallion between teammates, like it gives away your exact location on the map for a second? or is that a more negligible thing, especially with close combat because people already know you're around?
So your ideal set up is something like Sovereign, monarch, burst ar, jet pack and some heals? Or what do you leave to take shield boubles?
Biggest tip I found here was that you can change the binds for the jetpack, I use r3 as my jump so every time I use the jetpack it would conk out and I couldn't figure out what was going on to the point where I changed my jump button and then it was just messing my whole game up trying to get used to it.

Feels like there are way too many hackers playing this season. It's really annoying when you hit someone enough times to kill 3 players and they still don't go down and end up killing you with an unrealistic shot that came out of nowhere. Also, the v bucks are too expensive. The characters aren't worth 20-30 dollars a piece that's high grade robbery. But I do like the game, there's just too many cheaters
It's a terrible season. I had 5 or 6 games, and it's just not keeping me interested it just feels slow

Ive killed tons of players using the jetpack with the striker burst. Its a great counter. If i can get the first hit on them ive had good luck. Obviously if your spotted first and they are raining down doom gauntlets or war machine its going to be rough but it is what it is

Most useful tips for me were about the jet pack, thank you. I have a question about the burst rifle, though. I saw that you put a vertical foregrip on yours. I'm wondering how much recoil affects that weapon since it only shoots a short burst?
Hey Jake! I really need your help. It’s not a huge change but what would u run on the burst ar a vertical forgrip for laser
The recoil is basically the same no matter what you put on it. If you run a two gun loadout I'd put the laser on it for sure. The burst is surprisingly good up close hipfiring if you have a Laser on it

After the "madMax" fiasco, I was really hoping for a good season, that did't happen..
If I cant get a shield the first 10-15 sec after landing, I just back out, its no point in trying!
At this point you wonder if Fortnite will ever be good again...
