    The lug under the engine is only there on 200 casings mate, it was to stop vibration breaking the exhaust on the bigger cc motors. The lugs you have are present on all casings, I think they're part of the casting process

      Fantastic, thanks for clarifying that. in 25 years of messing around with lambrettas, I have only built 200`s until this year.

      @@kickbackgarage thats not correct .spanish casings have the lug on later 125 and 150 casings and its on all gp dl models . ??????? but you will need a full anorak to know exactly when and what models it was introduced on ...... and ive been doing lambrettas since 1979 but im not a f989k ing anorak 😉 i would say it was introduced on series 3 models but what year im not sure ?

    Appreciate your vids.. Just about to fit one of these myself and I hadn't thought about removing the paint - great tip and saved me some hassle - thanks.

    Nice bonus video Rob. There's always something we have to fettle to make whatever fit lol.
    Nice easy fit apart from that & looks the part.
    cheers for the extra vid *****

    Thanks for another good vid! Just a tip for you, I have had the kickstart foul the screw on the rear pipe clamp. If you put the clamp on the other way round there is no chance of this and it's a little bit neater.

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  4 года назад

      IT clears the kickstart, but if I get any issues, I`ll know where to look. Thanks.

    funny how this has just been posted, i fitted a BGM to my RT195 only yesterday! The barrel stub was very tight and needed a bit of cleaning up before the down pipe would go on. also nice to have a proper spring tool as i've been using screwdrivers and mole grips since forever....!

      Haha, screwdriver and swearing works too. 😂

    I did the same as John , put the tailpipe screw in from behind... looks better and stops any fouling.

    You're videos is great! I have BGM V2 on my Li150 Series 1. It was a struggle to get that on because of little clearance to the footboard front brackets. And because of that I needed to grind the exhaust engine bracket. V2 have other type of bracket with horizontal slotted holes and you have V4 with vertically slotted holes. Hmm maybe a change of bracket could solve it for me.

      @kickbackgarage  4 года назад

      I had a V2 a couple of years back and I remember fitting that was a real nightmare! It only lasted 3 months though. The area around the bracket totally disintegrated and BGM refused to warranty it.

      Mine still holds together though. Thanks for the information about your experiences with V2. I'll keep that in mind. As a fact I will check next time. I use V2 with imola 186 so maybe there is a difference fitting BGM V2 with that kit.

    Rob. Love the video’s. Can you still fit the rear wheel change tool? Looked blocked off. I’m going oing back to the bgm from avanti st with end can as 1. Avanti is loud. 2. Can’t fit the said tool. Question? Is the BGM quieter than the Avanti?. Cheers

      @kickbackgarage  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, you can still fit the jack tool. Just pop it in from the innside. And yes! The BGM clubman sport is a LOT quieter than the Avanti ex box.

    I have the v4 on my ss250. In my opinion the exhaust comes too close to the cowling opening. It almost blocks the airflow. I removed part of the lip where the exhaust is welded together so the airflow is hopefully better. The exhaust got a hole so I had to weld it. On my other lambretta I have a gori ss. The gori give a lot more room around the cowling opening. No airflow is blocked. I hope my ss250 does not overheat because the exhaust too close to the cowling. I would never buy a bgm exhaust ever again.
