Peace bro you're doing a good job I'm JD from Soddy Daisy Tennessee keep up the good job man know you from Ringo🎉 I look up to you I'm going to follow in your steps I've been driving 20 years it's time to take it to the next level
Great video! I am with you 100% like the first 4 mins in regards to helping people, giving back and Karma! You are awesome! Many blessings, prosperity and safety to you. You are absolutely right give away what you want. Waiting on my 21 days now. 🤦🏽♀️
Great info! Clears up my money concern and how much I should save over the next 4 years. Hoping to save up 30-35k from now till the start of 2025. Many thanks sir!
O/O with authority is where it's at I know a lot of peeps making big money whether it's dry van or refer. I'm making great money with a local company still looking to move forward with my own authority here soon. Sammy thanks for all the info bro.
Bro spot on right on the numbers I was just talking to guy in my region he said 6k exactly to start up besides truck/trl. Guy recomend getting a 00 an below so I can run paper log still.
Can you make a video how you would start off the cheapest way possible? I watched your video on landstar and still think they are a scam and authority is a learning curve but still making more money on your own with keeping your monthly obligations low. Appreciate the info , later !
You are right men...I worked at landstar for a year and half....it's a scam company.....you book loads off their load board....you will never get the good paying load....FURTHERMORE, most of their agents try to get you to run the loads for less then they are posted.....
This is great information, I am leased on with a local company and my final payment is due November and now I have to run all my own paper work once the truck is paid off and I have been searching for a common sense video.
No sir. Well sorta. Depends. Been meaning to make a video on the subject. If I didnt plan to pick up my own customers or grow a fleet, then yes LS all the way 👊
Awesome video and I know I'm late. I'm here in GA too. May I ask you to please share who you paid to get your authority and it completed. Thank you in advance for your help. 😁
emailed you that yellow Coronado the ad in my City Yuba City says 13-speed. (Spanish of some sort) :) I'm going to do *whatever it takes* to get a down payment etc. by the end of the year. even considering.. double shifts with tomatoe season harvest.
You can do it bro, i got faith in you hero. Know you can as well and you’ll acheive it! See that ad is different than the Sac ad. 13 and and 14L. That seems like a good deal, def worth a check out
I am an owner operator after checking everything and weighing in everything I would never do my own authority. This way I pay 10% to the company and that's it I get paid right away I have their fuel card I have no problems. I never sit and wait for the load I have loads before I even unload, unlike my friend who got his own authority ,he cannot get the loads as easy as the older company, he's a new company and two times we got two loads from the same broker loading at the same company and delivering to the same company he got paid $500 less than I did.
Sammy I know this is an old video. If there was ever a way to be able to reach out and talk to you someway either on the phone or in person or something I would really appreciate it. I just want to hear more about your experience what I’m thinking and everything else I’m trying to side what’s best for me and my family.
Trying to get my EIN and I want to make sure I check the right boxes on the irs page .here are the questions Does your business needs to file a form of 720? Does your business own a highway motor vehicle with a taxable gross weight of 55,000pounds or more ? I'm trying to get this to open a business bank account.
Wow man. Sounds like it takes little to nothing to get started. I kinda got mixed feelings with getting my own authority now. In our business my wife handles all the admin. work and I do everything else;0). But from your last video when you came back out after hiatus you said you won't run anything less than $1.50 a mile. I.m left wondering even with the frequency of good paying loads is all the extra work you put in (doing it by yourself) even worth it? Looking forward to hearing about your LANDSTAR video as to that's probably where I.ll land after we get this truck paid off in few months. Thanks for the knowledge Mr. Sammy, your doing an awesome job putting it out there.
Michael Lopez a lot more to keep up with that's for sure. I've already taken the steps and set up so I'm going to push on and see what I can grow into with the business. I'll try and make that video soon
Use your maps. They have an index that shows how many miles an interstate goes through a state. You can also get some that work like a stop watch but for miles.
An LLC can be filed in less than 10min for $50-$100 depending on your state. Then you get the tax id for it from the irs website. Also takes 10mins and everything can be done online. Having someone else do it is such a ripoff. It's so easy you'll be like "Wtf!? That's it!? Fuck paying someone else to do this.."
I’m leased on to a company and making no money I been bringing home the same as a company driver after deductions I’m ready to go back company can’t pay my truck smh 🤦🏼♂️
I used a local girl who sold out if business. If I was to do it today, I’d call DAT or OOIDA. They both are decently priced and they both know their stuff 👊
I keep hearing so much good and bad about L.S. it's hard to know what to believe. If you were going to start out with them on the flatbed side, how long would you guess it should take to learn the ropes and start making money? I plan on having 10K in reserve when I start.
Prior to having your safety audit. Then you are part of a testing program that may or may not call you in for one. I will take one yearly to have on file in case
Hey Sammy, learned a lot from your vids. Watched everyone of them start to finish, some more than once. In the process of leasing to Landstar and wanted your opinion on this truck im getting ready to pick up from Arrow. Any knowledge you could drop would be great!! www.arrowtruck.com/Docs/search.details.aspx?invstkno=218814
Awesome. Thanks for watching Paul. That's a good riding truck there and the cummins with a 13. I think it can be a great deal. More than likely it has a cm2250 which is prone to bad fuel pumps. If it hasn't been upgraded I'd plan that asap. And be sure to take the crank case pressure filter cover off and be sure there isn't any sludge in there. That would mean cracked head or dropped liner. With that hp setting you should be good though. Just extra precaution
OO vs Lease Purchase vs carrier are huge differences UndercoverBoss. It cost so much for a carrier because of the revenues you can make. My biggest week as a carrier with one truck, van, was $8700 in 6 days. After fuel and expenses, $6000.00 net, all in Southeast, 3076 miles, all miles. Thats why it cost so much to start a carrier and run under your own Numbers. Bigger cost, bigger risk, bigger revenues.
MakeCents , Tall Foe, I love your passion my man!!! That’s why I watch your videos, you don’t use Click Bait, you seem to teach something on every video, at least the ones I’ve seen so far. I’m an old school driver too, started in 1988 Aug, backed out of buying my own truck 6 x times, mainly because of FINANCE CHARGES ; ASSHOLE SHIPPERS AND RECEIVERS THAT CLOSE EARLY EQUALS SITTING ALOT, AND DEF FUEL, most old school truckers really quit when they came out with that garbage. For me trucking is just a long journey to NOWHERE. Also don’t ever forget about LIFE AFTER TRUCKING, which is where I’m at right now, looking for life after trucking. When I ran a CB my handle was GLOBETROTTER. GOOD LUCK to you and your family my man, catch you on the FLIP/SIDE, thanks for the videos, love your truck and your PASSION. BE SAFE.
MakeCents , oh PS, what I meant about lease purchase was the companies that lease to drivers because the drivers pay for all the operating cost, like CRIME INC: better known as PRIME. INC.
You have the best trucking advice I ever saw on RUclips.
Thank you sir! I appreciate ya!!
Peace bro you're doing a good job I'm JD from Soddy Daisy Tennessee keep up the good job man know you from Ringo🎉 I look up to you I'm going to follow in your steps I've been driving 20 years it's time to take it to the next level

do you have a video on permits?
TheRightBrotha no TRB I don't. What permits are you needing info on bro?
How do you track your miles in each state? Assuming you don’t pull over and pencil it down on a piece of paper at each and every boarded. :)
I jot it down while passing each state line
Use your maps. They have an index that shows how many miles an interstate goes through a state.
You can also get some that work like a stop watch but for miles.
You can also use something like Promiles
Thanks...great info
Xavier Williams Thanks bro
Great info Sammy! Thanks.

Reevaluate your expenses, get your overhead as low as you can get it
Who did you use to set up your authority.
I used a local girl who sold out if business. If I was to do it today, I’d call DAT or OOIDA. They both are decently priced and they both know their stuff 👊
you still running with road runner?
No, im going to fill out a carrier pack next month and see about running with them on carrier side as long as the rates are competitive
Can you get good paying loads wen you have new Dot and Mc ##??
jordan waked limited at first. For 30 days to 6 months with some brokerages to pull for them.
I'm curious how long have you been running independent on your own or I mean your own Carrier
Feb 2017

Does one need one's own Authority if one has a non CDL DUI?

Prior to having your safety audit. Then you are part of a testing program that may or may not call you in for one. I will take one yearly to have on file in case
MakeCents got it 👍🏽
So pretty much just have one on file.
But it's not mandatory to do one when getting authority?
Yes get it on file as soon as possible.

Yes it does. I use ExpressTrucktax.com to pay mine. Its an easy process. Better than going to IRS office to pay it, we all know that can be a hassle
