    1) "Follow the money!"
    Especially political contributions, and family employment.
    2) Meta, from get-go, was very adamant about wanting to have regulatory oversight.
    Some would argue regulation provides barriers of entry to competition. However, Open Source requires less government oversight.
    3) Elon Musk exposing the relationship with Twitter and the U.S. government didn't set him up as "a team player".
    The relationship Elon Musk has with the Chinese government could be a factor.
    4) If push comes to shove for creating policy, Meta and X will have the most potential weight to create a ground swell of influence.

    This is a disaster in the making. "Leaders" in civil rights, academia, public policy, and government don't have a good track record of making wise decisions. Our worst nightmare involving AI development and its alignment with humanity is coming true. Frontier AI and AGI/ASI _must_ be open source (led by The People) to achieve the highest benefits for all of humanity.

    • @mygirldarby
      @mygirldarby Месяц назад +1

      Who are "The People?" I don't want communism to take over and that's exactly what "The People" sounds like. Communist China is awesome at propaganda. How do you think China was overthrown and communism instituted? "The People" were duped into overthrowing their own government so "The People" could be in charge. It didn't turn out well. We must fight communism wherever we see it, and most importantly when it seemingly springs up from "The People." Behind those people is a plan that includes subjugation of the very people who are naive enough to support the scheme.

Otherwise, the board could gain more power than many countries, potentially creating a new dominant power structure. A solution could be to create individual and independent or individually controlled AI robots with differing opinions, ensuring that at least half would disagree with any decision to overthrow humans :).
