Thanks for sharing! I’ve binged nearly all of your content and Kelli’s channel too over the past month 😂 and the ideas you’ve fleshed out have changed my perspectives greatly so much so that I’ve decided to step away from the ministry positions I’ve worked in whilst being a stay at home mom to build my family and home economy and support my husband’s mission whole- heartedly! We are the happiest we’ve been in 10yrs. I am rooting for you Scott & Kelli! Outstanding couple 🫶

As a much older woman, I’m listening and realizing that I think the reason I have practically 0 in common (except for the love of Messiah) with my “girlfriends” is because I’ve always been a Biblically traditional homemaker and they had careers. My focus has been my husband, my family and my home. Even though we’re older now (65+) and my focus is still in the home, theirs still is not and we have very little to talk about and share. 😢 I would never have thought of this unless you shed light on it. I’ve longed for relationships to share the love for home.

Phenomenal series! thank you so much - i am 1 year born again; what you mentioned in this video is a revelation for me that is so helpful: for us to dominate in our respective fields vs. theology bros & girls. really wonderful. it seems it would be obvious but it wasn't until now! This is truly wonderful work you are both doing & I will surely reference these videos for my brothers, family, & friends. God bless you!!

My husband and I met when I was 15 and he was 16 in 9th grade. I was super against dating until I was graduated. Long story short, we ended up being “friends that liked each other” lol. My husband then did full time college after high school and so did I (which I shouldn’t have but that’s another story!) there was no time for a job, only part time, and marriage did not look possible for us. We wanted to get married so bad! We ended up getting married when I was 21 and he started a new job the day after we got back from our honeymoon lol! I do wish we could have gotten married younger and definitely had kids younger. I am thankful for what we have now, God can work all things together for good, praise God! I don’t know if it could have gone any different, really. But I do know there were many things we wish people would have told us!!! Just like you are now giving golden advice on this channel

Thank you so much for this video. It was very well thought out and informative. My husband and I have been married for almost 7 years. He is a manly man, exactly the way you talked about in the video. Growing up I saw those values being lived out, but I wasn't really taught them in like a conversation. I wish my parents had sat us kids down and taught us those things instead of just living them. I'm sure they thought they were doing the best they could. But it is taking me a long time to learn AND unlearn a lot of things. My husband is a Godly, loving and patient man and I am a work in progress.

Would you consider doing a more in-depth video on the masculine/feminine polarities? I've seen a lot of talk of different "energies" recently, and while some of it seems authentic (similar to what you say in this video) most of the videos I find are from an ultra-spiritual new-age-type perspective. I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on this from a Christian perspective! God bless!

Hi Grace, thanks so much for leaving this comment! We'd love to do a video on this. I think the big difference with the "spiritual new age" use of masculine and feminine is self serving, rather than God serving.

literally just watched an old interview by mark driscoll, so fitting! somewhat worried about my "trad" twin cousins (girls). when they describe their perfect man, he sounds very effeminate. they expect men to be gushing about God's love constantly if they are "true christians"....while there can be a time and place for that, it's generally not how strong male leaders operate. especially when they are mid-late 20's and building a life for their future wife to join!! I may send this video to them and talk to them more about it. thanks you two!!

This video is spot on. Loves it. Appreciate you. This explains why I failed many times. And also why some manipulative women got angry when I set boundaries.
Lastly the part that you mentioned about being confident and only pursing someone who wants to support God's plan for your life is biblically correct. Well done.

Hi, really enjoy all your videos and appreciate your desire to speak to our youth about what really matters in Life. I watch you in hopes that I can glean some wisdom on how to talk to my children someday about dating, marriage, and fulfilling their missions. At what age would you say is appropriate to have those intimate conversations about those topics? You mentioned your youth leader giving you a premature thought about girls and awoke something in you. So where’s the line from preparing your children and encouraging them to desire marriage but not awake a premature desire?
Also, you mentioned men waiting till they are established to pursue marriage, which I totally agree. But what should the young ladies be doing if they have to wait around for men to be established? It seems reasonable for them to go to school and pursue their passions in the mean time, right? Love to hear your thoughts. Thank you

    • @ScottandKelli
      @ScottandKelli  Год назад +1

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comment! The purpose of attraction and dating is marriage. The problem with my youth leader was marriage was no where in the discussion of liking girls. At 13, I desired to wait for marriage, so talking about at any age can be appropriate, as long as it's pointing at what it takes to be married.
Younger ladies should be looking towards older, ready for marriage men. Ignore boys.

I came to basically all the same conclusions you did years before I found your channel. But I never had good dating advice from my parents or anyone else in my life. I had to figure it out from negative experiences, and from the internet.
I think my wife is objectively the best woman I've ever been with, but I think I'm not as emotionally connected to her as I could have been if we had met her several years earlier. I think I damaged my ability to pair-bond by giving my love away too freely in my youth. We still have a peaceful marriage, but from me, it comes more from duty than it would have been had I not screwed myself up when I was younger.
I do not think there are plenty of trad girls. Most women have ruined themselves, and they are not even trying. This is why there are so many western men going overseas to find wives. I found my wife in Belarus.
I do not go to church, because it seems to me that they are all awful.

Best on wait for God to join you with your perfect match. Marrying anyone out of sexual desire, attraction, companionship or to save money, etc., will bring you years of fights, hardship, insecurities, etc., Trust God, he loves you the most and knows you more than you'll ever know yourself.

Do you think that husbands as servant leaders should support their wives in nurturing their God Given talents? And that he should value her mind and intellect?

I love your guy's content but I just want to make sure I mention this, because it's been on my mind. I just want to make sure the main point of it all is to glorify God and preach the Gospel which is something I rarely see on your channel.. I know this isn't a ministry and most of us are, hopefully, saved, however all I see is money talk and finding a help meet for YOUR own glory and success...which is very unbiblical...
Do not treasure things on Earth but things above. Nothing wrong with money, but that isnt your calling. Your calling is to glorify and seek the kingdom of God and all the rest should be added unto you... Careful not to boast... It's all thanks to God
