- We’ve had the DS 3 Crossback E-tense for one month. In the previous video I gave it a thorough review with measurements, features etc. In this one, my wife and I go at it thoroughly in the car. And not in a good way.
There’s some repetition from the first video in terms of issues we both have but I’ve left it all in because so many of you would rather watch this one anyway.

As someone who hates the recent proliferation of touchscreens and layers of menus, I find this cathartic. So enjoyable to watch you tear strips of cr@p design such as this (and the VW ID rubbish). More of this, please.
'I don't want to upset anyone who owns one' - I think that ship had sailed, Andrew... we're trying an Skoda Enyaq which is on a bespoke ev chassis on Monday which looks much more viable option for roughly the same price range..
Hooray, the best real-world EV review duo are back! Great to see Flaviana has decided not to end her on-screen career prematurely too! Go easy on the chocolate though - we need you both fighting fit and able to take down these godawful 'efforts' from the likes of DS for a good few years yet...

Another smashing real-world review! I trust your opinion. D33 Crossback is not for me (but I too had the same opinion from the first picture).
Good point you made about the PSA EV's not showing the percentage when not charging, and the counterintuitive touchscreen, frustrating as hell! I have driven the e208 and loved how it looked, but on longer journeys I can see it would all get so tiresome.
The DS 3 Crossback E-tense makes your wife tense, especially the lane keep assist! This is a proper down-to-earth review. Thank you.

It is always the small things that annoy you - like 3 buttons for the radio - and you managed to find plenty of things in a small amount if time which shows it is lacking the wow factor

DS can be an abbreviation of Different Spirit or Distinctive Series (although it also refers to the Citroën DS designed by Flaminio Bertoni and André Lefèbvre). The name is also a play on words, as in French it is pronounced like the word déesse, meaning "goddess". (from Wikipedia)
One thing I love about the e-golf and the digital dashboard (option) is the modes you can configure the drivers view of all the data. I can see exactly how much range I have, how far I can go, what my KwH/mile is and a VU like meter, we’re it shows you how much you are draining, or recouperating. In fact it’s one of the reasons I chose the car above all the other cars I tested. I’m now regularly doing upwards of 165 miles in the summer months, four years in and the car is a sprightly as it was when I bought it new. It’s the first car that I cannot find a fault with. Does what it says on the tin. 165 miles on 34KwH battery. That’s up there with the best that’s out there now. That’s about 5.1-5.8 miles per KwH.
I ordered one of there last Wednesday and watching your review I canceled the order yesterday as I’m disabled and all the blind spots not being able to see would really scare me, I’m now off to order the Fiat 500e instead, much better car for my needs, thank you both for this amazing frank review 👍
I’m glad we helped! The Fiat 500e is a great car. Obviously much smaller than the DS, but I prefer it in every other way.

To be fair the lane-keep-assist trying to steer her into oncoming traffic. And then pressing it "off" makes it show up on the screen. These designers must be smoking something.
I'd hate to come across Mrs. EV in business, she is as terrifying as she is funny, but the two of you make a brilliant channel.

Thanks for your very entertaining and informative videos Mr and Mrs EV. I am new to BEV's and have a new 40kw Nissan Leaf mk2. I would love to hear your frank opinions of this car which would also assist potential second hand buyer's.
We have an old 24kWh LEAF and absolutely love it. We’ve not driven the 40kWh one but I’m sure it’s just as good (better of course, with the bigger range). The LEAF is such a good car: great size, practical, smooth, reliable. I think you’ll have many happy years with it.
The only real issue with it is that it uses CHAdeMO and not CCS. Not a massive problem at the moment since there are still loads of CHAdeMO chargers but they are a dying breed. A shame, really, as CHAdeMO is arguably the better connector.
Other than that, we’d certainly consider a new LEAF again.

I came originally for the Ionic and I stayed for Flaviana. Good Lord she is fun to watch.

DS stands for Different Spirit (I just googled, I'm not a fanboy!). I actually have some respect for DS (Citroen) for designing cars that are different, it's too easy to get pulled into the VW Golf-like box on wheels, but their cars generally feel budget as you've experienced, despite DS being their "luxury" brand.
Also, I don't think I've heard you swear so much in one video, you really were letting loose this video! 😂
Flaviana needs her own personal plate " Ball Buster". Very funny, beautiful with that accent. Keep her on daily and your channel will blow up. The Ioniq 5 review was hilarious. 2022 car and still a long list of dislikes.
Poor dog has to go to the vets for us to see mrs EV, how does she stay so slim on a diet of chocolate heaven.👍

There are lovely Chocolate shops in Stratford Ontario . The Stratford Festival is still on hold due to COVID but there is always chocolate!
Absolutely love you two. I have a 2021 MG ZS EV which, despite its few foibles, I like very much and I don’t know if you have reviewed it but I shudder to think what mrs ev would make of it.

Your comment about no battery charge level on the e2008 is wrong. It does show on the 3D cockpit as one of the personal profiles. It will also give you the current Kw/Mile level. You can also show it by pressing the button on the end of the RHS windscreen wiper selector stick
They’ve changed it now (in a software update) but the first ones didn’t have the battery percentage.

We have a ds and I have to say a lot of your issues are with the physical design which is very subjective and many of the issues around the menus and finding stuff would be solved by reading the manual. Yes it has its quirks but that's part of its charm. In summary u have some valid points but many would be solved by reading the manual.

More chocolate. Perhaps you should include, “How much chocolate can we fit in the..?” segment. More chocolate segments please. I’m sure you could have found something good in the DS3. Chocolate for instance. Plus it’s a well known fact, that a chocolate diet is better than any makeup.

I turned of the lane center assistance on my car (vehicle option). It drove me crazy. Now it only reacts when I close into or cross the line (toyota). Maybe this is also an option in the Citroën? Orange indicator is a warning, so it makes sense to be 'on' as a warning. The swooping bits are indeed hideous :D
