Islam is one and indivisible. And can't be broken down into component parts. It doesn't has a distinct entity by the name sufism. Sufism is the mysticism of idolatry religions which has somehow creeped into this great monotheistic faith. It has to be purged out of it.
Sufism is not islaam, I wonder how it came into existence ....I hv seen Younus Amrey a series from turkey , wanted to know of sufism it showed they do all 5 times prayer and the same ppl after the prayer, together they sit and do dhikr e ilaahi only 'hu' laa ilaaha illallah and 'Allaah hu' very powerful dhikr...but play daff only one instrument....and one leads and others they follow in continuous repeatance of Allaah swt. name......here I did not find anything wrong but definitely not a practise of Sahaabas....or a sunnah...I felt ppl thereafter, as time passed, started to keep adding to the dhikr and landed up innovating things like (wearing white skirt and circling/ rotating) which is definitely not islam....
