Lecrae opened up to VladTV about black churches not being looked at favorably in certain parts of the black community, which he said he can see from their point of view. Lecrae explained that the black church has chastised rappers over the years so he could see why hip-hop hasn't been close to the black church.
During the conversation, Lecrae also spoke about 2Pac being his hero, despite openly disparaging the black church, and a video of 2Pac talking down on the black church circulating after Hurricane Harvey. When asked about Joel Osteen not opening his church, Lecrae said he doesn't know why Osteen didn't open the doors, but he was upset to see that giving churches weren't highlighted in the media.

At 9:25 in this video, you were speaking of Hurricane Harvey about the MegaChurch not opening up right away... The interview I saw with the Pastor said their church, the old Compact Center, had flooded but opened as soon as possible.
There were many people who was out there helping during Harvey I live here and saw the destruction including Christians, Muslim, Hindus, atheist alike... None of that mattered while everything was going on hell I saw at the wal mart in port Arthur many civilians who had boats were out there helping people along side the police and stuff.

Anyone extremely bored and want to read a really really really long argument for why Christianity isnt a white mans religion and why Christianity doesn't support the enslavement of Africans by the white man? I often copy/paste my posts because these topics come up so often. So heres an old post I wrote, its very very long, if anyone cares to read the entire thing go ahead. Disregard all the grammar mistakes ahaha.
Christianity was in Africa before any white man introduced it. Christianity in africa goes back to around 60 AD. Christianity comes from the middle east. The first Christians were brown middle eastern men. The bible was written by brown middle eastern men.
Here are some early African churches...
The monastary of St. Anthony- was built some time between 200 - 400 AD
Church of our lady marion of zion was built around the same period!
Christianity was made the official religion of Ethiopia by King Ezana in 341 AD.
Does the bible support the enslavement of black people?
No. Nowhere in the bible will you find a reference calling for the enslavement of black people. Nowhere does the bible support the idea that black people are worth less than white people.
Does the bible support slavery?
First, Christians do not follow the 600+ Jewish laws found in Leviticus, exodus, and Deuteronomy. Why? We are explicitly told not to. But thats another post. I will give the rational and reason if you request.

What does the new testament say about slavery?
most of the writing on slavery comes from Paul. there a small but from Peter also.
Before I give any references i want to focus in on the word "slavery" when people hear the word "slavery" their mind goes to white people, raping, murdering, and enslaving africans.
In the time of Paul, he was writing to churches and people living under control of the Roman empire.
An important question is:
what was slavery like in the roman empire?
If you owed someone money and couldn't pay it back, you became a slave so you could work off your debt.
Many accountants, physicians, etc were slaves.
There were also captured prisoners of war who became slaves. These people were typically treated very poorly and abused.
So, what does the bible say about slavery?
Paul advocates ethical treatment of slaves
Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven. - Colossians 4:1
20 Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them.
21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you-although IF YOU CAN GAIN YOUR FREEDOM, DO SO.22 For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person; similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave. 23 You were bought at a price; DO NOT BECOME SLAVES TO HUMAN BEINGS. 24 Brothers and sisters, each person, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation they were in when God called them. - 1 Corinthians 7:20-24

(Paul here is referring to the Old Testament Law as slavery, but some think he is also drawing a parallel to actual slavery)

In the bible, the Book of Philemon is about Paul writing to a slavemaster named Philemon. Why? Paul meets his runaway slave named Onesimus. He tells slavemaster Philemon to take back his slave Onesimus, but not as a slave but as a brother and friend.
10 that I appeal to you for my son Onesimus,[b] who became my son while I was in chains. 11 Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
12 I am sending him-who is my very heart-back to you. 13 I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am in chains for the gospel. 14 But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do would not seem forced but would be voluntary. 15 Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back forever- 16 no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. The story of the good Samaritan is against racism. Jesus is preaching that we should love our neighbor. Someone asks who is our neighbor? Jesus responds with the story of the good samaritan. Its about a samaritan who helps a jew. In this time jews and samaritans hated each other. They had different religions, cultures, races, beliefs etc. Yet they showed love to their neighbor. Jesus called for Christians to love their neighbors even those who are of a different race, culture, religion, etc.
Common verses used for slavery support in the bible include paul arguing that slaves should submit to slavemasters in
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Ephesians 6:5-9
There are other places where paul repeats this in the bible.
Why did he write this?
Peter touches on this and has an interesting take: in 1 Peter 2:13-25
it talks about submitting to unjust authority.
We should submit to the government, in this case the roman empire. If your a slave you should also submit to the slavemaster?
This whole part is on unjust authorities. The roman empire was corrupt and evil. They were killing christians at this time, but Peter argues we should still seek to obey the laws and rules. Some argue that Peter is taking a Martin luther king jr. approach. In that, hes urging the community not to seek to overthrow or destroy government. Hes trying to have people peacefully and lawfully abide by the rules.
Seek freedom but through peaceful and legal means?

Paul definitely spoke out against slavery though, in the bible Paul argued all people were equal, should be treated fairly and that people should seek to escape slavery, he also wrote a letter to a slavemaster named philemon.
Paul finds a runaway slave name onesimus and writes a letter to his slavemaster Philemon, in his letter he tells the slavemaster to take his slave onesimus back! But, not as a slave but as a friend and as a brother.
The apostles would have disappeared and went back to their lives after Jesus was crucified, but they didn't. They preached the Gospel in Jerusalem and surrounding areas that Jesus had rose from the dead in the face of persecution and death. What did they have to gain if they knew for a fact what they were preaching was a lie and made up? They all believed Jesus rose from the dead. Jews built the temple for YHWH to dwell in. Jesus said "I am the temple"...he was saying he was God incarnate and came to save the Jews and gentiles. Christianity isn't a new religion it is the fulfillment of Judaism prophecy and the Old Testament. The only argument the early enemies of Jesus had after his death was that the disciples stole the body. Again they wouldn't have preached in the face of death if they did that and knew what they were preaching was a lie. Jesus (Emmanuel) came to save us all from our sins.
