It took me 2-3 months just to make sure I land on my feet during rollspikes and that's without the ball. Just doing the flip, with the ball it took another month or 2 to time my flips with the ball.

For us Malay, this is how our ancestors master the art of battle/war. The skills is needed but the priority is how we can unite in strategy even without talking or shouting. The ball use to be solid not hollow...to imitate the real blow/punch from the enemy. This is also good training for martial art students to master timing and pain control. But since this has become a sport, most forgot that these used to be an activity used by our ancestors who learned martial arts before sparring. And for safety reason, the ball are now hollow but never soften to be like the western standard of a ball 😊

Not sure about the 'kill' but during my time playing, the three players have a call sign based on their role which is a tekong (the server), a feeder (the one who throw the ball at tekong during serve) and a KILLER (striker who deliver the killing spike).
Correction, both the Feeder and Killer can throw the ball towards the Tekong at serve. Since most players are right footed, it's the Killer that fills the position. The Feeder is mainly the one who sets the ball up in the second touch so the Killer can deliver the finishing blow, hence the name Feeder.
@@floatingdisembodiedhead8975 correct... and yes feeder actually mean the one feeds the killer. Its just the term of positioning as a norm (since left footed tekong isn't that many) just to make a point of reference of who is what, where and which.
