@@JustinReedFishing that’s funny, I’m always saying I want to get to the gulf and fish over that way. Would love to do a collab video at some point with some of the gulf coast creators! Let me know if you come over to NE coast!
Great video! I watch so many of these on here and most fishermen don't explain half of what you just did! I love that you showed and explained exactly what you were using for bait and zoomed in on it. Also loved you showing your set up and describing the rod and reel sizes. The icing on the cake was you using your hand in front of the camera and showing where the waves were breaking and where the sand bars were. Great description of everything you were doing! Very informative!!
Great video, it definitely has been rough this past weekend ,but dyeing to get out there paid off for me this past Saturday, water was dirty all the way from narvarre to panama city ,but I decided to fish close to Destin in Okaloosa, I must have caught about 50 Catfish weeding threw. Them, I manage to bring home 3 nice pomps & 3 nice whiting ,and that's fishing from 8am until Sunset 🌇🎣🎣🎣🐟 🐟🐟🦩 yeah the Struggle was real, but it had been while,,water is starting to clear up now and temperatures 🌡 are about there , 😀 it's our time,,Thanks for the Great content,,,Stay Safe God Bless,,
Stuck it out and it paid off! The Catfish are relentless in that dirty water. I wonder what they like so much about it. Temperatures are definitely getting close. Thanks and good luck out there Joseph!
Good point I always see and hear you don’t need a long rod to surf fish. A longer rod gets out there and you can short cast. A shorter rod can’t necessarily get over the second bar.
Thanks so much JC. It really means a lot to hear that. Love explaining what I'm doing to possibly help others out. I enjoy sharing what I have learned. Tight lines man!
@@JustinReedFishing I totally understand where you’re coming from. I’m not getting any younger so I love to pass on as much as I can to anyone that wants to listen. On the flip side I still learn all I can when and where I can. God Bless
@@JustinReedFishing I do luck up every now and then and catch a flounder or 2. Captain Jody Waldorf and Bunn are flounder catching machines. Hopefully I can get moved to the GS area I hope to get to fish with both of them. 👍😎
I’ve lost my beach to the spring breakers. It’s early morning only for me for the next month. Have been catching some crappie though. Always good for dinner!
Justin, thank you for this video!!! This is the most informative video that I’ve seen concerning how to limit your catfish intake, lol. In my beach fishing career I’ve probably caught 60 to 70% catfish. I can’t keep them off my line. This simple piece of advice makes more sense than anything that anyone has ever told me. Instead of wading out and slinging my bait as far as I can, I now know I can fish that drop off that is everywhere along the gulf. Thanks again, man, I can’t wait to get out there and put this to the test!
So happy you enjoyed it Jeff! There are a lot of quality fish that will come in close. In fact my biggest Redfish was only 10 feet from shore. There are some days that the fish are out far too though. I have just noticed that if you catch one catfish out far there are usually a lot more hanging out with it. Hope your catfish ratio goes way down! Tight lines.
Did you do this video after the storm we had come through on Friday. It was rough out there for a couple day finally started calming down Sunday afternoon but still cloudy water
It was actually a couple days before the really rough water. South winds for a couple days got the surf churned up. Did you fish those 6 footers? I stayed home until Sunday haha.
Hey Justin, thanks for the info, love your vids. One question, what action are your rods: medium, medium-heavy etc. I have a hard time seeing fish on with two of my longer rods, which are medium-heavy.
Thanks, glad you enjoy them! My rods are all Medium Action with a 1-4oz lure rating. If you are using braided mainline you can try adding a shock leader to your setup. A shock leader will add some stretch which relieves pressure going to the hook. Good luck out there!
Dude, you mentioned not having your card but not keeping any fish. Does that mean you don’t need a license to catch and release? I’m gonna be surf fishing around Miramar with my son and son in law in September, and I’m fretting about the $30/person fishing license for a mere week of surf fishing. Might sound petty, but we’re paying $8,500 for a beach front rental (got other people pitching in!), and I’m just wondering if we can get by without a license if we fish from the beach where we’re staying. It will be catch and release.
I didn't bring my Beach Cart. Sorry I tend to mumble sometimes haha. You'll need a fishing license even with catch and release. In fact even to have a fishing pole at the water you are required to have a license. Hope you and your family have a great trip and tear up some fish!
😂 “dirty water days” lol your dirty water looks like our best days here on the Atlantic Coast. Great content. Thanks!
I need to get over that way and fish the Atlantic side. Definitely very different conditions over here. Glad you enjoyed it and good luck out there!

Yeah, the water East of Pensacola pass is crazy clear almost all the time.
Great video as always! Gotta weed through the kitties, that’s my go to line. Tight lines!!

Short rod short cast.
