- In this video I head over to the legendary Sheep Hills where Mike Hucker Clark said everyone should go to Sheep on Saturday and it ended up being a really good turn out. Its never to late to do something you might enjoy. I don't care if your 5 or 85 bmx has something for everyone that's what makes it a great sport. I'm only 32 but thanks to a tore up knee I'm down to cruising and wrenching on other peoples bikes so I don't have to give bmx up. I might not be able to ride trails like these guys but if I play my cards right and help the next generation maybe the next big rider will be one of the kids I'm building wheels and painting parts for right now. If its something you find fun go for it and find a way to enjoy life to the fullest.

Sheep hills seems like the best set of jumps with a rad community, wish we had something similar.
Remember watching Sheep Hills clips of TJ Lavin and Butler killing it back in the day. Got me into dirt. Glad to see its still running.

I always think about California's water issues every time I see them spraying jumps. I don't have a problem with it, it's just what comes to mind.
yeah i thought about that a lot too before we had that crazy rain this year. watering dirt isnt the brightest thing to do in a drought but im sure people are wasting water in worse ways.

"The Gully" is my godchurch...Costa Mesa raised,this huckers is blazing into 40 years of BMX...it`s nice to see my old stomping ground is still around looking pretty much the same,except the original track is long gone,having been built over by sub-division condos.In 1978 we did`nt even really know much about the sport that is known as BMX,because it was just starting to become popular with Mongoose breaking the barrier for affordability.Prior to that it was Schwinn stingrays with steel rims with coaster brake,one piece cro-mo cranks,Ashtabula goose necks and v-bars with a beach cruiser seat...thing weighed a ton.I snapped the steering tube off and left it down there out of contempt,all mangled after throwing large boulders onto it from the top of the bluff to make sure it was dead.My next attempt was a used Webco frame that I scored off of an older kid who raced that lasted about 3 months with much frustration.3rd time was the charm.In 1982,I got a GT pro after having to save up for about a year and a half before I moved to Canada where I started racing for a bit but got into freestyle around 1986 when Haro came outwith the freestyle frames/forks.I still ride an "oldschool"(1999)Aluminum DiamondBack Assault(Franko frame)with my favorite 35 year old Mongoose freestyle 4 piece bars and Redline flite racing sprocket which still look sick and a little retro,but no one gives me any grief because I am still way too fast...
That looks so fun! No one in my town rides and to have a whole community of pros and kids and families all shredding together is so cool. I miss having people to ride with when I was younger

Wow! This place has come a long way in 24 years. I used to live up on Arbor St, and we used to call it Ja Jungle! Insane seeing this! I used to love riding around here day and night!! Looks like a great community involvement here too!

Y’all are hitting the big one. When I was like 13 , thought I was a beast when me and my friend went there once. Had my dk general lee. Went over the bars first time on the step up. Stuck it the second time. God damn I wish I had been more able to ride growing up. School and girls fucked me up lol I miss dirt. All I get now at 27 is a random skatepark session out here in Riverside . Other than 65th which is a ways away, there’s not anything great anymore

Im from philly but sadly the trails were a desert the last time we checked them out. Ive been watching people ride there since before that MTV Sports Foster Bros. & Todd Lyons segment down sheep.

they were trying but i think they lost, for now. not sure how long sheep will be there for that land is worth so much money
Dylan Stark for sure sheep hills has some epic jumps with a lot of history. It would be a huge loss if they were gone. Not everywhere in so cal needs to be developed.
