    You know, I've tried a couple of different things, (uv resin, modpodge & glitter, etc), and they looked okay, but i couldn't figure out why/how some people were getting them to look soooo amazing! It finally occurred to me that maybe they painted them black after the glitter, and you just confirmed it for me! :) Thank you! Now I'm off to try some of the new ones I got!

      Yay i am glad I could help! I will also sometimes just use any contrasting colors that make the glitter pop, but I always finish with a coat of black just to make sure!

    I have crocheted on and off for years now and have just started making stuffies.
    How would you recommend aftercare?
    You know how kids can get a wild with their toys and sometimes it's easier to just toss the stuffiness in the wash and air dry.
    Is that safe for these eyes and amigurumi in general?
    I loove this idea so much! It definitely make each project more customizable!

      I feel like I always recommend hand washing over anything else but I see a lot of people wash plushies. With the new tutorial I’m working on I plan to run them through some testing like washing and stuff to see how they hold up ! I can wash ones where I used this technique as well and come back and let you know 🫶🏽

    Have you ever tried chunky nail polish? I've seen some people recommend that as well, and I haven't tried it.

      No I haven’t !! I wonder if it’d be any different

    Hello how can I make the glitter card stock cut outs ? I have a cricut but don't know the measurements or how to design them to cut can you make a video on that or explain the designing part please ❤

    • @MJAlleywayCrochet
      @MJAlleywayCrochet  7 месяцев назад

      So if your eyes are say 20mm eyes you just have to make 20 mm circles on your cricut software and then a smaller circle in the middle of that circle to push it through!

    How safe is the site you buy them from, it wants a bunch of bank info for the purchase and I’m hesitant to give it out

    • @MJAlleywayCrochet
      @MJAlleywayCrochet  5 месяцев назад

      They should only want your card info which any site is gonna require. They shouldn’t need anything from your bank. I’m pretty sure you can buy through pay pal if concerned. But the shop I buy them from has A LOT of sales and I’ve never had and issue. But you always run the risk when ordering online these days!

    Shouldn't you seal after the black paint dries? Like with uv resin. Otherwise any water contact will deteriorate the eye, and washing is not an option either.

    • @MJAlleywayCrochet
      @MJAlleywayCrochet  9 месяцев назад +2

      It would depend on how much wear and tear is on the plushie. I don’t recommend washing plushies and on loveys that would likely need washed (typically given to babies) I don’t put hard eyes on bc they’d be a choking hazard. I will say these eyes specifically are sealed pretty tight, the thick plastic backing cups and surrounds the whole back of the eye. It would take washing the plushy to have a true risk of water getting anywhere into the back of the eye 😊
