Great choice, Anna. "Wallflower" has a beauty and artistry to it that fits your channel. I am curious what you'd have to say about one of Jinjer's heavier, crazier songs like "Home Back". I've been listening to prog rock and metal for the last several years but understanding things like time signatures and polyrhythms is still hard for me, since I have no true musical training. Also, that particular song is somewhat relevant to what's happening in the world right now.
Also, I have to say you are so precise! Not just with your analysis, but the actual vocal examples you pull from memory to demonstrate what you mean, like the Lady Gaga one. And you even skip to different parts of the video with such accuracy. Impressive in every way!

I have tons of Jinjer- songs in my list, but this is the first time someone is suggesting "Home Back"!
I loved the deeper message in this song as well.

@@annavaskelaineni agree! Your navigation off three videos is flawless. At the end of the video when you quickly scrubbed ahead and said "No, only credits left," I said to myself "Man she is good." I watched carefully for edits there and didn't find any. You are highly intuitive and very deft with the scrub. It makes your videos that much better. You are fantastic!

I had the pleasure and privilege of seeing Jinjer live in November at a small venue, and aside from the band being mind-blowing live, some of the greatest fun of it was watching Eugene's amazing man-bun get more and more jacked up as the show went on. Also thanks for always doing the subtitles.

  • @JudgeMingus

I just discovered your channel and having seen your few Jinjer reactions as well as some others I have subscribed.
Your analysis is intelligent and articulate, and I appreciate the extra effort you have added in your subtitles complete with additional notes and references.
Despite being a fan of both Jinjer and King Crimson I had missed the similarities you brought up between parts of "Vortex" and of "Dinosaur".
I'll be moving on to your non-Jinjer reactions too.
I would be interested to hear your opinion on a few more Jinjer songs, particularly live or 'near live' performances.
Top of the list for me would be:
    - Perennial live at Wacken 2019
    - Judgment (& Punishment) vocal one-take
    - On The Top or Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev
    - Jinjer - Vortex [Live Hellfest 2021] - particularly so you can see how the studio version of the song translates without the luxury of lush layering etc.
A studio track I think you would find interesting is "Teacher, Teacher", which incorporates additional interesting use of layering and also some different styles of delivery than the songs to which you have already reacted.
For your own interest in Eugene, you might enjoy his bass playthroughs hosted on Jinjer's own RUclips channel 😉
Disappointing as it may be, I should warn you that he is already married with kids...

I love it that Tatiana's sand painting is the zodiac sign for ♓ pisces.
I also love how the night-and-day contrast between her registers is being used so tastefully to build the song's meaning. Great analysis, thanks for sharing so much juicy insight.
Tati's idols are Gwen Stefani and Ami Winehouse, and it's fairly apparent in her clean delivery how the former especially has influenced her style.
Nuggets as far as the song itself.. Tati is extremely introverted, hence the inspiration for this song.
The red box signifies her lyrics. She always writes these after the rest of the guys have written the music and has a tendency to procrastinate, leaving the guys to constantly badger her to share them.

Great analysis Anna of a complex constantly changing intense piece of Jinjer.
I think this might be one be of you're best.
Red,Black White and yellow tend to be warning colours in nature ... Different colour combinations have different meanings depending on the culture using them ..
A quarantien flag on a boat is even today a yellow pennant ..
The Navajo have a complex colour language used in their sand paintings ... Looking similar to early space invaders graphics. Where colours are linked to directions and characters like mountains. 🤔
Red and black and Red and white, one symbolises illness of the body and the other of the mind...
If you think thats complex try victorian flower 💐 language etiquette..😉 you'll never see a bunch of flowers in the same way again😂👍🏼😎🎶

Intoverts unite! ..separately! ..in our own homes!
🔥I love Wallflower! I love the beautiful way it starts, and I know I'd still love it if was all clean singing, but I'll admit I was hoping for a turn, unsure if it would come the first time I heard it, knew it probably would, and loved when it did! Wallflower hits me hard as a depressed introvert (always antisocial, always antifascist!), but more generally, Jinjer helps me vent heavy thoughts and I think more people are being drawn to music like this because we're living in dark times ("the sick sick world" as she says in this song) - not just the pandemic, but the looming climate collapse that is underway caused by the narrow minded greed of the ruling class of capitalism (which also causes all wars today) which Tatiana has written about in many ways in so many songs.
Great reaction as always, Anna! You're one of very few reactors to Jinjer who mention the whispered track, which I think they use very effectively: I love the ethereal feeling it adds in the third verse of Pisces and the biting nature of the whispered lyrics in their song Ape (highly recommended!). Thank you always, Anna, for bringing the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people and your fantastic Anna-lysis! ❤🖤🤘

I really enjoy this song, along with Pisces this is my regular listen.
On color symbolism: I've spent some time reading Jungian analysis of Alchemical principles and there colors black, white, yellow and red are strongly present, and while black, white and red are commonly represented people tend to have issues with Yellow as it's sort of devilish rancid color, associated with violent sulfur. So it tends to be left ignored by moralizing people as it exposes ugliness of things.
In this Video i found it super interesting that Tatiana switched to Yellow shirt when getting home (while discarding the red skirt) which remained hidden underneath her kimono while she tried to sooth herself down making mandalas, her violent nature always there lurking and waiting moment to seize control.
I might be reading too much into it thou.
As a side note: Have you heard of Dir En Grey? Would be interesting to see what you have to say about their music, Dozing Green as easy approach. As bit harder one, Vinuhska. Live versions are much better than studio ones. Might not be quite your cup of tea, thou.
