I love finding content on this Bass. The Blacktop P was my first “proper” Fender around a decade ago. I’ve since gravitated toward more traditional P’s, but I defretted my Blacktop, giving it a new lease on life.

This is a little old BUT, my pickup heights seem way off and Fender suggested 2.8mm bass side 2mm treble side for both pickups. This has to be 100% wrong as it sounded like i had some nasty effect on there. Can you tell me what your pickup heights are so I can match it? I tried to match my tone and I'm close.
