So are they going to balance the Porsches out for next year? Whatever BOP they did earlier this year has clearly been way overboard.

This race for me legitimized the idea of a complete takeover of tire supply by Michelin in 2019.

Dang Christina Nielson got robbed. She was definitely going to win it if the race was to finish.

I am very upset for her. She is a fantastic driver, and I am expecting that she will win soon!

I must say, as someone that has watched many many yrs of motorsport, i dont understand how people can only show disappointment of even coming second overall. these people have the opportunity to race top level motorsport, a level that most of us dream of. I just would have thought they would have been a bit more excited....

Because you don't put so much effort in to finish 2nd...
No offense, but with your mentality you won't ever win races. If a person is content with finishing lower than 1st, you will never succeed.
If you want to make something or earn something in life, always aim for the best.

@@killawombat75 You really believe drivers who got the opportunity to become pro, got there because they were content with "just" finishing on the podium...? If you don't have a winners mentality, why even bother taking part then? The kindergarten stuff they tell you that participating is more important than winning is just pure bs you know...
You wanna find a good job, a great wife, a happy family, a nice house, nice car, a great retirement...? Then never settle for less than you CAN work for. If it's in your own powers or hands, NEVER be content with less...

Instead if using those wasteful jet blowers and digging trenches during a race they might wanne look into getting some proper drainage works done for this Track. This really looks amateurish, the rain wasn't even that bad.

    • @driver1140dg
      @driver1140dg 9 лет назад +7

+18PaulH I live by road Atlanta and am their often. the problem is Georgia's soil has allot of clay which doesn't absorb the water but instead sits under it and effectively does nothing to help drainage. if you walk down by the esses on driver's right there is a little ditch that fills up and flows under the track. That day the ditch filled up from HEAVY rain earlier that week and was literally deep enough to swim in. If you watch qualifying you'll see the torrential downpour. It's hard to tell from the tv but the rain that Saturday was also very heavy.

      Drew Guthrie
Yea I was probably a bit too harsh, my apologies. I was really bummed out the race got canned.
The real solution would be to build extensive drainage plumming, with gulleys along the roadsurface and pipes running under it.
It would take millions, but honestly I would've thought that Road Atlanta and Petit Lemans in particular were big enough to make it happen.
Especially when you factor in the fact that their intended broadcast was cut hours short.

    • @driver1140dg

+18PaulH yeah, the facilities are definitely sub par. but that amount rain is abnormal for Georgia. (but for rel the bathrooms are nasty)
