    Give the LMP2 cars a real chance against the DP. The LMP2 cars can drive much faster.

      ***** The LMP cars are barely changed from the FIA rulesets. The DP's were brought up to their speed, in fact IMSA makes the BOP adjustments mostly on the DP side because the P2 teams don't want to be converting their cars back and forth from rulesets, and IMSA doesn't want to lose anymore teams in that class, they already have a bunch of teams that won't race GT-D because of the conversion cost and time between that and GT3 rulesets.

      asymsolutions I know that the DP in the Grand Am was way slower so they have to speed them up. I really would like to the DP fighting against the LMP2 cars. But the LMP2 car are way to slow in the USCC. At the 2014 Cota the WEC cars drove a 1:56.2 the USCC poletime was a 1:57.8. even the slowest P2 in the WEC was faster. A big reason in my mind are the tires, there not made for the LMP2 cars. I read an interview with Ed Brown where he explain the diffrents with the tires.
      Also why should a team start with a LMP2 car in the USCC? The DP are much faster, the Liger is fast car but no chance against the DP. (Maybe a reason why ESM changed to the WEC) I think there will be no P2 win this season

      ***** money. Both cars cost approximately the same, but you can enter in the WEC, ELMS and other championships with the LMP2 cars vs just the USCC. The more racing you can do, the more sponsorship money you can leverage without having to run a different car in each series.
      And yes, the continentals are the main reason for the slower speeds, but those tires are due to a contract going pre-merger, so hopefully it will be replaced in the future.

    I don't anticipate the series making too many returns to this circuit. First, apparently no one showed up to watch the race. Second, despite having a new surface it looks even bumpier now than Sebring (at 13:31 watch one of the Porsches get almost completely airborne over the bumps).

      Treetop64 this type of track for me is a bit boring it looks cool but not mych room for real overtakes....and this new surface its so bumpy cars become like lowriders

    I wish there was a GTD specific series... GT3 isn't quite as exciting and with a full field, the racing would be intense.

    CAN SOMEONE tell me, what is that weird white cylinder on the roof of one of the cars. Visible in the roof cam shots.

      BLITZKRIEG give me a time where you see it so I know what you are talking about, because the paintmatched cylinder is the roof cam.

      BLITZKRIEG It's probably either another camera, a GPS antenna, or a telemetry antenna. I'm guessing it's the telemetry antenna.

      Nope, none other than Calvin Fish takes that title. His accent gets on your nerves and he looks seriously greasy as hell, with that sickening creepy smile.

      I have never quite understood Calvin fish, he looks American, sounds Australian but is actually British, at least I think he is. But Bob varsha infuriates me with just one thing, he says le mans completely wrong he seems to say la maw

      Me too Until I realized that Greg Creamer is a total joke as the Lead Announcer in IMSA. Long live RLM crews.
