Just saw these women in Vancouver, Canada and they are NO longer a best kept secret. They drove the sold out house delirious and earned TWO standing ovations. Mad about this trio and hope they rack up several grammys for this!
God I fucking love this trio. Such amazing harmonies. I missed Laura when she toured solo through town not long ago. I Cant get enough of how amazing they sound together, amazing song, great vocals, awesome instrumental arrangements. Perfect. Thank you CBC Radio 2 for sharing them with me.
First time I heard this it wasn't turned up very high and thought it was "You're the best kept secret in silverware" and just assumed it was a really drawn out jingle for a kitchen supply company or something
I think they're saying Silver Lake, a neighborhood in LA known for the musicians/artists/hipsters that live there. They reference the LA scene in the song as well, so it makes sense.
Thank you. I'll keep going then..... I visited his page. Some of the scenes look like places where dakinis would live but I really like The Thing Imagines Itself
When I saw t case/lang/veirs in Vancouver, Canada, the stage backdrop was this huge image and it got me to wondering about its origins, and now I know, thanks to you!
WFUV 90.7 FM New York That's where I heard it the first time too! When it was new. Also, thank-you WFUV, for introducing Kathleen Edwards to me. Glad she's back. ❤️
Get out and the see the tour now, if you can still get a ticket. This may never happen again. (Reminds me of "Little Village"; if you missed 'em, you missed 'em).
The first time I heard this song.......was two hours ago.... and I must have heard it about 30 times already. I'M HOOKED!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!😲
Same!

I thought there must be town called 'Silverlaine' somewhere.

I love Laura's voice on this one. Casual and cute
This is such a cool song! The fact that these three people get together and started a band, it's amazing.

Saw them in DC last night. Front row during last couple songs, unreal. Such a great show. All 3 excelled. Band was killer.

A very catchy instance of combining rock & country styles. Lots of airplay on station KCSN.

BBC 6 music keep playing this and I didn't realise it was my beloved Neko Case with her buddies. Must pick up the album.
2nd best kept secret is the name of the person who did the visual art.
The cover art is a cropped version of Elliott Green's "Wake the Veins": elliottgreen.com/

love this song, but the strings at the end did spoil it a bit.
R u kidding? The strings make it!
@@hermazingbartels2377 Listening to this song seven years later, you are right the strings do add to the beauty of the song
Three talented artists and the best they could come up with is this elevator music?
I agree a little bit. Love the vocals/harmonies, but do they have real musicians playing behind them? It sounds kind of canned.
