    Great test. You always read that the aids are slower. Good to see someone actually try it out and get some numbers.

    Thanks I switched to anti stall clutch from autoblip and increased my lap times, about 1 sec faster after watching this, appreciate the vid!

    Auto blip isnt just blip, its auto clutch and blip together.
    Auto clutch is just clutch.

    Even if you have only 2 pedals it's good idea to disable auto clutch and just map it to button it's so slow. With Skippy I don't use clutch I lift gas when shifting

    Haha - nice test.. I made the same today, same track same car...
    Here are the results...
    None 51,133
    ASC 50,987
    AC 50,720
    AB 50,601
    AS 50692
    None 50,832
    The last None was to check the first time....
    What the heck is AUTO BLIP???

    • @donjezza
      @donjezza 3 года назад

      auto blip really only affects downshifting so it shouldn't be much different to auto clutch in this test. to do these tests properly you would want to control the inputs with some sort of tool, as your data shows the difference in times is significantly affected by the human error with the inputs.

    • @vjollila96
      @vjollila96 3 года назад +1

      Its auto rev matcher when down shifting some cars need blimping to have stable down shifting otherwise rear locks up and you spin ruf gt3 cup is probably good example

    Question: on upshifts do you use the clutch or lift? On downshifts do you blip?

    • @benevs
      @benevs  3 года назад +3

      I use the clutch for the upshift, I calibrate it to about 10% so I only just need to tap it for it to fully engage. No blip on downshifts, as long as your on the brakes with no acceleration the car will downshift without a blip or clutch.
      This maybe a video to come, ill test all the different methods of shifting and see what comes out top.

      @@benevs If I had actually watched the video instead of skipping to the chapter conclusions, I would have seen the clutch use. I have a G29 wheel and with assists off it won't downshift reliably without a blip, so I just leave it on Autoblip. It's so funny to me people talking about "immersion" when sim racing, no matter how good the software or equipment, just isn't like real life. If we could just get iRacing to start charging for car damage... Another little anecdote about the Skippy -- I'm not positive about this -- is that on the real car the steering column runs between the clutch and brake pedal so left-foot braking isn't possible. So for best immersion, right-foot brake!

    • @benevs
      @benevs  3 года назад

      @@busyiracing666 I also use a G29, if your on the brakes a skippy will downshift with no blip or clutch, but yes I do also miss the occasional downshift but thats rare.
      U see why people want immersion and I think you can get very close to it, but without the g forces
      As for left foot braking, in a real car I agree left foot braking isnt possible, I've tried haha but in a race car left foot braking is normal, WRC rally cars are a good example

    • @Hwy929
      @Hwy929 3 года назад +2

      @@busyiracing666 Immersion is a big factor for me. IRL Track days/HPDE are expensive and not always available. I know the paddle shifters would be quicker, but I have fun slapping the fanatec sequential/6spd gearbox around. Pimax 5k+ VR with wide FOV lets you look around and helps with distance and perspective. Some buttkickers for "feel' and the only thing really missing are the g-forces.

  • @goldengraeme1918

    • @benevs
      @benevs  3 года назад

    I'm going to need you to test this on every track 10 times per type of driving aid. Until then, I am forced to call you an anti-stall clutch shill. THIS GUYS A SHILL EVERYONE.

    • @benevs

    • @benevs
      @benevs  3 года назад

      It's not just the start, everytime you change gear you'll lose time because using a driving aid makes it slower to change
