I will be making this for our BUMBI Christmas. We are staying at a Manor House in the English countryside, it’s my dads 70th and my sons 23rd. Asked my sim what dinner he’d like on his bday 30th December, and he said a Bumbi curry, there’s 28 of us so wish me luck. I’m going to be prepping and cooking for at least a week before. 🙌🙌🙌🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This chutney looks amazing Bumbi 🤤I love big chunks of mango. So much better than store bought. I have found pieces of mango stone in some of the store bought which is quite annoying and a potential choking hazard. I find it depends on the brand. So much better homemade. Thank you for this wonderful recipe ❤xxx
Lovely recipe Bumbi. It is similar to a Rajasthani recipe that I can make called. launji, the only difference is that we make it with sugar. This is as good as a sweet mango pickle ( Gur Kairi) of Gujarat. Thanks for sharing . Have a great weekend my friend 🌸
I will be heading to the shops today to look for green mangos! I can’t imagine this will last a year as it looks too delicious ❤ and what perfect timing for this video as canning season is already on us 💕💕💕
Wonderful and many thanks. I bought mangos yesterday; they aren't as small as the ones you used but are still green, I hope that's OK? I also have jaggary and all the spices. I'll probably keep a little ready for using right away just to give it a taste as I don't think I could wait a whole year wondering if I should try it. 😁🙏
This recipe is just what I was looking for, and loved your presentation , especially the Bengali touch , as I was born and brought up there ! Plan to make it asap - thank you so much ,and yes ,am surely going to check out more of your recipes ❤
From the US, un-ripped mangos are not popular here though I'm going to search some Indian stores for it. Agree with everyone your voice is so calming, thank you for sharing all these delicious recipes.
Love cooking your food it's delicious and easy. Unfortunately my wife is allergic to onions, is there an alternative to onions so my wife can also enjoy your food!!
yummy cant wait for mango season to make it😅 we are approaching winter here in south africa so ...its gonna be a long wait 😢. love it ..will definitely try thanks again dear Bhumbi ❤❤❤

Hi Bumbi. question if I may. The mangos I bought were green on the outside and very firm but on the inside, the flesh was yellow, and I couldn't cut through the stone. Can I still use these mangos or start looking for less ripe ones? (Also. they are quite large, not small like the ones you're using.)
@@CurriesWithBumbi Oh dear, well the hunt for green mangos will continue unless it's too late in the season already, meantime, it's mango, banana and pineapple smoothies for everyone 😁. Thank you very much for the advice on pre-made Idly batter. Today I stopped but my local Indian grocer, and there it was in the refrigerated section just like you said, also managed to score the last Idly cooker in the store along with a few other bits and bobs, so it's going to be a new breakfast experiment for everyone. 👍👍👍👍👍🙏
Idlis are extremely healthy. Please do try them out. You can ask your local Indian grocer about green mangoes. Tell them you need unripe green mangoes for making pickles. I am sure they will guide you.

Though the stone is removed a little fibrous sheath still remains in the centre. You have to discard that while eating. Thanks for watching Emily

Yes this is very similar to launji. Veena please do sometimes use this bhaja masala in your sweet chutneys. It is so flavorful.
How much mango to use

Thanks for trying my recipes. Just leave out the onions in my recipes, it will still turn out to be tasty.

thanks again dear Bhumbi ❤❤❤
Only yesterday I made mango chutney. Instead of jaggery, I used amchamasala, spicy as usual.
Hi Bumbi, what do you normally eat this with? Can it be eaten on its own?
You can eat it as a side with your main meal or it tastes as is on its own. I sometimes just mix with my rice and have it but that’s just me 😀
It tastes good with chapatis and stuffed paratas.
Yummy!

Mangoes whose stones have become hard cannot be used. It should be green inside and preferably smaller ones.
