I have the adapter, the CPL and the ND filter. Personally, I find that the CPL does an adequate job of reducing glare on water. My main issues with this system is that the magnets are not very strong, and the filters are too small of a diameter to use with the ultra wide lens. I need to take my case off of my phone to get the filters closer to the lenses to minimize vignetting. Also, because there is a gap between the iPhone lenses and the filter, there can be some weird flaring. Usually I need to hold my hand above the filter to get rid of the flaring.
Thanks Matt, you’ve just answered the question I was going to ask. I tried a clip on variable ND recently and had the same flaring issue with the holder being the same full size diameter as the filter. I have seem some holders that have a smaller central hole that you can align with the particular lens you’re using. I’m going to try one of these to see if it blocks the stray light.
I was counting the hats, UNTIL i saw the Green Bay Packers hat and stopped dead in my tracks. As an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, the Packers are just NFC North aggravation. Thanks again for another excellent video, without the Pack!
This video answered my question that I couldn't find ANYWHERE: Can you stack magsafe phone holder onto it? Thank you for going into depth on this product.
Clever design but your Comments reveal the gap between lens and filters is causing flaring. I had this same frustrating issue with another well-known brand starting with S and had to return it. But the main issue with this Ulanzi design is it probably cant work with my with 380 flo pro gimbal MagSafe adapter?
have enjoyed Ulanzi products before on my iphone. i like the case they come in too, very nice. 17 different hats, i think. Had to keep double checking :)
That looks a great bit of kit, I was counting well on my third viewing 😂😂you went a little quick, has to watch a 4th time 17 I hope, , good luck everyone 😊😂🏴
I have a different magsafe filter holder - also compatible with all other magsafe iphones. BUT... Your Ulanzi set up knocks the socks off mine. Mine is too bulky. CPL: interesting hearing your assessment. That's been exactly my experience too. I thought it was just me. Can you recommend one which actually works?
Very interesting product, shame about the CPL, thanks for pointing it out, I have been eyeing the upcoming Polarpro LiteChaser 15 case with a 67mm Threaded Filter Adaptor.
Nice review Shane. I’m still on the fence with the possibility of stray light coming in from behind. Especially when using the ultra wide on my 15 Pro Max. How’s the vignetting? Oh, and 17 hats. :)
@@ShayneMostyn dare I ask in what way it doesn't work well? I get the impression you can't 'dial in' the polariser grate angle to cut the reflection desired. Is that correcty?
The correct answer is… wait for it… One at the time. 😂 29 times. 17 different hats. 😂 I’ve had those filters in mind for several weeks but couldn’t find any reviews until now. Thanks! Would love to get the opportunity to win the set. Cheers! :)
just buy the magsafe mount, dont buy the lens from ulanzi, the magnet barely attached to the mount, buy the 52mm lens in smallrig instead, it is stronger (although when you turn the ND step it will keep sliding since the mount does not have a small indent to hold the attachment). unfortunately, small rig is no longer selling their Magsafe mount, so you end up with Ulanzi.
I have been using a screw on Moment filter holder that allows me to use regular filters on my iPhone. But this is more convenient. With the Moment I’m able to use a normal CPL filter effectively. Wouldn’t that work with this holder? In other words, could you use any 58mm screw in filter with the Ulanzi holder?
Finally after a long time a REALLY useful accessory for magsafe
It's by far the best filter attachment idea for for iPhone. It doesn't muffle mic sound like other attachments.

Very cool filters. I noticed the hat changes right away and thought “What is he up to?”
You did 20 changes with 17 different hats. 😊
Youre the reason I did it! HHAHAHA
I wonder if I could use Ulanzi's mount add a step up ring and use my 82mm filters?
I would say as long as it’s able to be used on the magnetic base, it would work
Interesting look at these filters. I was distracted by the hat changes though😂 You have a very cool collection👍
HAHA Needed something to keep your attention! HAHA
@@ShayneMostyn 😂👍👍
purchased but the 52mm one causes vignetting at the edges using the wide-angle camera on the iPhone 15
Great way to get us to watch the video twice 😊 17 different hats

HAHA I had ot go and find the packers hat. I actually got it from lambeau field when I was there once. Dont have a vikings hat :(
Another reason to switch to an iPhone 15. Thanx for sharing this. (17 hats I think, but you changed more times. Some nice ones. )
This video answered my question that I couldn't find ANYWHERE: Can you stack magsafe phone holder onto it? Thank you for going into depth on this product.
No problem mate
Great Video Shayne, I have used filters before on my phone, these look amazing. I counted 17 hats. Might have to send you a NT had
Sounds great!
Nice video man. That hat counting think was really fun 😂 17 different hats 🎩
Glad you enjoyed

I suspect it wouldnt work on your gimbal. It may sit there, but I wouldnt trust the movement and this magsafe
yep @@ShayneMostyn. There is a gap in the market here for a company to produce a smartphone gimbal that holds a larger payload around 1kg

I’ve always been happy with them as well mate. You may be on the number there.
Could I use an Apple MagSafe charger at the same time as using the Ulanzi Magnetic filter system on my iPhone 15 pro?
What kind of filter adapter do you recommend for pixel 8 pro?
great vid thanks Shayne. Can you clarify please - your headline says 58 mm filters, but you said 52 mm filter system in the vid?

Lokkes really nice, but does it work with Pixel8 Pro and other phones ?

I was gutted about it. It does work, just not as well as I had hoped.
Pretty cool Shayne, I've been on the fence about buying filters because of the case thing, this is genius! Think I may finally make the leap! 17 Hats?
Its pretty impressive mate.
Nice review Shane. I’m still on the fence with the possibility of stray light coming in from behind. Especially when using the ultra wide on my 15 Pro Max. How’s the vignetting? Oh, and 17 hats. :)
Havent had an issue with light coming in. No vignette either mate.
I counted 17 hats. I appreciate the review. Does the fact that it lets light in from behind a problem?
Hasnt been an issue yet.
Interesting product. I am intrigued! 17 hats.
Can you screw on a step up ring to this mount for bigger filters 77mm
I guess you could. But not 100% sure
18 hats.
Great vid. Definitely looks like the solution for my S23U. Cheers 👍
Didnt cross my mind to check it on the S23U. It fits well mate. It would be a good solution
Very cool filter system, thanks for the review. 17 hats counted.
You bet
Did you try some of sort ND1000 filter on mobile? Thanks
Not sure if Ive tried one that strong on a phone
Oh man, this was exactly what I was looking for...until you mentioned the CPL filter - that’s the one I’d use the most. ☹
It does work, just not as well as I had hoped.

is this magnetic filter large enough to cover the lens of samsung s23/24 ultra with a magsafe case? Thanks
No
I counted 17 total. It was a great, informative video, Thanks Shayne! Did you pick a winner yet?
Not yet mate. I will be doing so on this weeks live stream
I counted 17 hats Mr Mostyn.
Well done ulanzi what a great product, awesome video Shane and that would have taken you a bit to make with changing your hat 17 times 😊out of
Thanks 👍 ;)
is it 52 or 58mm according to your title? i'm confused.
Dammit. Thanks mate. I have fixed that typo. Its 52mm
Does it work with iPhone mini series?
Im not sure sorry mate, I dont have one to test. I imagine it would though

Its not a screw in, its all magnets. As long as the filters you have are metal, you should be right. The magnets are in the holder.
interesting product. 20 hats btw….may be 😂
Close but no cigar ;)
@@ShayneMostyn please have mercy :P. Kidding. Love your videos though.
17 hats!
17 hats nice video
17 hats
Next time a tip. you should have shown what it looked like with the video, whne the filter is on and off so we see the difference. You feel me ?
