I’m not going to ask an invasive question, but like most of your viewers I’m aware you’ve recently become a Mum - congratulations btw! - and just an FYI to any mothers out there who are currently breast feeding, your skin become very dehydrated! Whenever I fed my bubba, I always sipped a glass of water (with a straw in a screw cap bottle as bub liked to grab it) to make sure I was replenishing what I was giving. You can’t pour from an empty cup! Take care of yourselves mamas! ❤
It sounds to me as though (to you) the Lisa Eldridge eyeshadows are a solid (or even exceptional) product that simply ask for a different application method than the one you find intuitive-which might lead you to one of at least two conclusions. 1) That you have plenty of wonderful eyeshadows that DO behave in a way that’s immediately intuitive to you, thus making the Lisa shadows not the right product for your collection, or 2) that adjusting your application technique for the Lisa shadows is a change so minor as to be insignificant, and that they justify their presence in your collection with their sumptuous shades and textures. Looking forward to seeing which way this goes during the declutter! I have two of the LE palettes and haven’t immediately loved them as much as I expected (albeit I use eyeshadow almost exclusively for drag, so the use case is quite different)-so we find ourselves in a similar boat!
Merry Everything Hannah! A thought for a video: Would it be possible to put a vid together comparing different 'blush' looks, or any other makeup look, on you so we could see what you see as far as colour, theme, and overall feeling goes? Following the idea that clothing stylists do in showing us how this is okay but this is better. Not sure how - before and afters?? - but for all of us visual learners it could be helpful??? Anyway... take joy and see you next year. 🥰
I also have a cream thats as heavy/stiff as the Joans Road Miracle Cream. What helps me with the application is to use it immediately after my serum when my face is still wer/moist. The wetness/moisture from the serum helps greatly. Never thought I'd use such a heavy cream because I used to be oily but in the winter it's helpful once a week. Also thanks for the tip with the cica balm in a skin care video from last year. It helps tremendously against the burning of my cheeks when it's below 0 degree here.
I'm totally vibing with Hannah's content style. The subdued black swan style makeup makes me want to be brave and try a darker eyeshadow in a brown tone.
If it wasn't a "lisa Aldridge" eyeshadow, would u still want to give it a shot? Like let's say it was an Elf product?... see how u feel after using it everyday for like 2 weeks, then make ur definitve decision without giving mind to the brand name
I mean…. But it’s not an elf eyeshadow product though. It’s at least 10 times as expensive. And like 50 times more if you’re considering her buying multiple Lisa Eldridge palettes to make her custom one. So it’s impossible to make the comparison against elf. When it’s anywhere from 10-50 times more expensive.
@@jerris-glennbooth902Yeah, but then you have to at least admit that you're keeping it solely for the brand name and not because it's precious to you and you love using it. And many of us don't want to keep things we don't love, even if it's expensive luxury makeup.
@@theprousteffect9717 I don’t think you were understand what I was saying. I was saying not to keep it, and not to compare it to an elf eyeshadow, when it is not like an elf eyeshadow, it is far more expensive, and from what hannah says, not worth it.
One thing I’ve found with the Lisa Eldridge eyeshadows is that the staying powder is longer for me than a lot of my other shadows. If I need it to stick around, it’s reliable for that
@@jerris-glennbooth902 elf was just a place holder to any cheaper eyeshadow... my point is that maybe she's keeping it only cuz of brand name. Plus Maybelline has the 24 hour eyeshadow that stays put...

With the Kjaer Weis Lip balm the problem will pretty much solve itself as all of their products, given that they are dedicated to “clean beauty” they do not use much preservatives. And that together with the fact that they use cardboard packaging, (albeit fancy) they allow for too much air to get into the product. I’m essence these two facts make all Kjaer Weis cream products to have a very short shelf life. So if I was Hannah Ian’s even more so if I have bought this lip balm with my own money) I would begin using the heck out of this lip balm or one might as well just toss it. As it cannot go to anybody else given the fact it has virtually no preservatives beyond perhaps vitamin E oil. And that doesn’t stand up to the works of the air for very long which means it will be a little bacteria mess for someone else to take over. And it will either way only have at best a few more months to go before the oils and fats in it begins to go rancid due to the lack of preservatives. Now I want to point out that I am all for creating makeup with less or less harmful preservatives for the Earth. But two things should come with that. 1. Better prices as products will have way shorter shelf lives. 2. Better awareness to the fact that zero or low amounts of preservatives in a product gives it a very short shelf life which means you cannot hoard such products and then choose to use them at a later time. So they call for a different consumer behaviour. (Which doesn’t really rhyme well with the ideas of Sephora and other big retailers that want us to fill our house with products during sales and seasonal changes…. As you cannot buy them and then let them sit and wait in a cupboard or on a shelf for months or sometimes even years before they get any usage as in that case you might even choose to toss it right away when you get home since these types of products will not last. And most of us do not get that as we are used to the amazing preservative properties of preservatives like parabens which can keep a product like this fresh and safe to use for decades. And that is just not the case with these “clean” products… ❣️

Girl you've just had a baby. Don't be hard on yourself, the fact that you have gone back to filming is just hard to believe already. It's going to be a marathon readjusting, your routine, your identity, everything. Take your time. You're doing amazing sweetie...
As an extremely minimal makeup person, I love these fun videos. Beautiful look. You make me want to do my own kinetic experiments with my collection before the new year. Look forward to the declutter series. Happy New Year 🕊🎆✨
I’ve been using the plain miracle balm as a moisturizer because my skin is SO SO SO dry and sensitive and raw and it’s sooooooo soothing! And I swear it makes my skin look amazing and less red an tomato like ✨
I was about to recommend the Miracle Cream for very dry skin and then you started talking about it! As a woman in her late 40s, Jones Road has really transformed my skin and makeup routine. The miracle balms, foundation and miracle cream I use regularly.
Very interesting to watch your taste in makeup continue to evolve, interested to see how that plays out in your declutter this year; I'm half expecting you to declutter almost nothing and half expecting you to pull out a makeup bag, fill it with the ~20 products that you love most and declutter everything else for the sake of sanity and elegant simplicity, I don't know why, but I would be so gassed if it were the latter lol, maybe I just love a vicious declutter
I luv your makeup look today!!! 😍 when my skin feels like a desert, tatacha is my go to, it's like gold to me. I can't live without it, the purple one specifically, it may work for you.
Hannah, I have tried two new moisturizers this winter that have really helped my dry skin. The first is drugstore: Aveeno Calm + Restore Daily Gel Moisturizer (in the big bottle with a pump, not the little tub). The second product I had to order online. It is SKIN 1004 - Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule. Both products are very moisturizing and soothing while being lightweight. I felt an immediate improvement in my skin overnight. They have also not caused any problems for my breakout prone skin. I hope these help. Happy Holidays!
In the winter time I use the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream and it’s so soothing and moisturizing (a bit too much for summer time). Leaves a nice slip for makeup and the subtle scent is my favorite part of my skincare routine before bed too!
I have insanely dry skin and in the winter, it's so difficult. Especially if you enjoy wearing makeup - it just doesn't lay right some days. I highly recommend the Tatcha Indigo Overnight cream. It's a game changer. Helps with redness and irritation and I wake up looking like a normal human.
I would love to see you do a 5 looks one palette with your Lisa Eldridge palette, and see you familiarise yourself with her array of formulas! A lot of people have a learning curve with Natasha Denona/Pat MaGrath, Danessa Myricks etc. Their formulas are really trying to do something specific rather than be foolproof luxury like a Chanel quad.
Ha! I love a good declutter! I knew that the eyeshadow is by LE, the colour and texture are special and suits you very well. I own two of her palettes and use them everyday (hit almost pan on one shadow). I use sythetic brushes and build the pigment a bit slower than you do. This works very well for me. Perhaps this is helpful 🖤 Happy holidays!
I love these videos revisiting old products. It's so helpful for me to appreciate the stuff i have and to also understand better the things i want to add to my collection and why it might be a good idea to pass up on something. For example, I love Lisa Eldridge and I love what I can do with her eyeshadow, but there is no point in me falling for her products because their restocking schedule is so unreliable.
I am also getting rid of a rare beauty blush and highlight that doesn’t excite me. I have other colours of that blush and others I enjoy using and this one does nothing for me. I’m giving it to my niece. Happy new year!
For moisture, my accessibility priced go tos are: Argan oil ($15 250mL), CeraVe or Mad Hippie ceremide night creams ($14 50mL; $32 50mL), Shea Moisture Baby lotion in Argan Frankensce Camomile ($9 263mL). Even Dr. Dray approves of CeraVe hand creams on the face ($11 500mL) Few people can genuinely afford luxury everything. The lipstick effect does not extend beyond a few items. Self-care is not expensive toiletries. Budgeting is self care. Proper complete insurance portfolios for family, nursing home, housing, valuables, and health slush funds get overlooked. Cut overwhelm and work load with delivery veg boxes, groceries, small errands by Prime, prescriptions, housekeeping, or other effective domestic staff. Lowering one's chronic stress and overwhelm will help more than a luxury cream.
Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing you reacquaint yourself not only to the contents of your collection but how it supports your current lifestyle and tastes! Hopefully it'll give me the push I need to also finish my own declutter 🤞
Feel like it’s worth mentioning that I had a very similar experience with fleurtacious and have only recently gotten to appreciate it and I can’t really explain why, although I guess I find it particularly helpful when I want to add a touch of pink to a more brown blush, which is my go to blush shade. I will say though that I use a much less dense brush (one of the smaller rephr cheek brushes), but weirdly I have been very happy to have it in my collection for the last couple months! 🤷♀️😬
Love the prep style video... it's something I have to keep doing constantly in my makeup collection... reminding myself if I like those products or why i don't use them...
I just finished filming mine for the first time & it's such a different experience when you're speaking through your thought process. Can't wait to zone out to some HLP declutters..
I signed up for the meditation class a few weeks ago. I’m really looking forward to it 🤍. I’ve taken her compassion classes because of your recommendation as well. I’ve definitely had to go through and re-listen to the recordings of the classes multiple times. She provides such a wealth of information!
I love how the way you talk about makeup puts me in that same mode of playful open minded critical thinking! It makes me want to play with my makeup again and look at things in a different way ❤❤❤
Hannah! I would love your opinion on something, maybe for an upcoming video? As I get older (I’m 29) I’ve noticed that I wear more makeup than anyone I know, both personally and professionally. I work in an office and some of the middle aged and older women wear makeup daily, but a lot of my peers wear minimal to none. I don’t wear “a lot” of product but I do a full face and I don’t feel like myself without some blush and a little smoky burgundy eyeliner. I wonder what other people think about the amount of makeup I wear, not in a self conscious way but I am genuinely curious if anyone else gives it any thought. Would love any perspective from you or anyone in the comments!
I think the Fenty Cheeks Out cream blush in Rose Latte would be interesting to you. I'm very pale with pinkish reddish undertones and I actually love to use it as a contour. I do use it as a blush from time to time when I just want something more plain jane. The idea to use it as a contour came to me while watching one of your videos, I wish I could remember which one. Anyways, I love your style and find your videos relaxing and informative with an atmosphere of elevated coziness.
I feel like the Lisa Eldridge eyeshadows have a steep learning curve. I do really love them now, and I think the key for me was using them with natural bristle brushes. Hope that helps!
Idk if someone suggested this already, but I usually blend out my eyeshadow through the crease with a brush, and then go in with a finger to apply it more concentrated on the lid. Then you can blend it a little more if needed into what you already blended. Maybe that would work with the Lisa eyeshadows? Especially since you were hoping to use a finger anyway?
Hanna, PM Flirtatious comes across as a muddy pink toned contour on me. I keep trying to love it for it's promises. I have resorted to using it in place of contour for best effect on a minimal makeup day.
I actually use the Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask under my makeup as a face moisturizer every day in winter. A small pea size amount blends nicely and doesn't have any residue or cast. Nothing else keeps my face moisturized properly. It does have a green cast to it if you use more, though, which could potentially be a benefit?
I really don’t think Chouchette is the most HLP color out of the Westman Atelier blushes - that would definitely be Mimi. (I used to be limited edition but came back as a site exclusive. Luckily, because it’s the nicest one out of all of them in all of it’s beige glory.)
Yes, I hope you try the WA Mimi baby cheeks. Hautemess Tom and Kackie really love that shade and it would be great to see if it works on a very fair olive skin tone.
i have damaged skin barrier on top of multiple hormonal issues and my skin is so rough to the touch. literally nothing works! yhink i'm gonna give that jones road cream a go
Oh man, I've got a waxy, heavyish Josh Rosebrook cream, Vital Balm Cream (unscented,) and I guess it's time to whip it out, and on, for winter. Oh, and I wish more cosmetic lines had white base products. As I've said before, I've given up on trying to find a perfect match in foundation and concealer. The ones I'm using are Elizavecca Skin Liar Whitening Cream (I'm not a fan of the scent, but it dissipates,) and LA Girl Pro Conceal in lavender. The white is sheer, like a skin tint, and doesn't seem to have ingredients that my skin balks at, and the lavender is greyish, so it works well with my muted yet sallowing middle aged skin. If any of you are muted neutrals, or olives, and are as fair as HLP and myself, please look at these products. I'm not saying they *will* work for you, but they may be worth considering. I tried the pot version of NYX's lavender correcter, and an ingredient in it makes my skin feel like it's burning (skipping long ass thoughts about what my skin reacts to,) so I'm not touching it again. The only WA Baby Cheeks that I'm remotely curious about is Mimi, which is an exclusive on their site. I forget if you've demo'd that one. Hope the three of you have a lovely first end of year holiday season. Thanks, HLP!
It's so funny that you don't like the stiffness of the Manasi 7 pigment, bc as an oily skin girl the texture of it is PERFECT for me to mix with the Exa green color corrector! (We're skin twins! The RMS foundation in 000 is also a perfect match for me too!)
That eye colour is really really lovely on you Hannah! I would absolutely snap it up but if you have a few similar shades in your stash it might just get hidden.
Have you ever tried "cocoa" by Salt New York? I've been using it across my face with a pop of "sunburnt" on the apples of my cheeks & it looks so great on light neutral skin. They've had some amazing sales, I can't even feel bad about getting it during the buy 4 get 4 free sale 😂
Hannah, I watch your review for the Nars mascara and I really liked the result and your description. I bought it and it was amazing upon application. But it smears so bad in few hours. I don't have watery eyes nor I live in humid climate. I will use it up but I am surprised you changed your mind too 😅😅😅
Could you please talk more in depth about your journey with meditation. Resources you have used, books you have read, queues you follow etc?? Maybe a patron video?!?
Sorry I may not finish this video but I'm not really into makeup videos; I come more for your personality (loved the smart and witty conversation that accompanied the "unapproachable" video!
also the final look is cute, almost 1920s vibe to it ! Vintage ballerina painting vibes! Also you should totally try some of nabla's creme to powder shadows (usually in palettes) - they are gorgeous and blend like an absolute dream. You would have loved the Dreamy 2 (mystic) palette, but I don't think they make it anymore.
UGH after filming the entire declutter series I found both of them in a box of "in purgatory" makeup I had stuck into my closet in a moment of panic right before Felix was born! I have to make a decision about them (and some other things from that box). Will return to it in the new year, possibly with a dedicated video.
I slightly panicked when you showed the Monica Blunder cover. I just treated myself to that after a hard autumn after rewatching your excellent video. For my mature rosacea ridden skin it is the best foundation I ever had. Good coverage but not cakey as you don’t need much. I thought it had fallen out of favour but you still seem to like it. I trust your judgement
Totally off topic, but I saw the new Rabanne Beauty Tinted Lip Balms and the shade Soul Kiss made me think of you and your love of grungy colors. Not to mention that it’s a sheer formula. Would love to know if you’d seen them yet?!
I think the technique you use for eye shadow application will never work with Lisa Eldridge eye shadow formula. As that is made to be built up slowly in multiple layers and be malleable all the way, as that is her technique. Not to put on a blob and then spread it out, even though it sort of allows for that too, but then you end up with a very heavy smoky look right away as there is not much pigment that will go to waste in this product. You can also totally get the “shine” with this product too while applying it with a brush but you get it from at the end of the application either warm it up with your fingers or use a brush that can polish the surface. As what causes the shine is really the oils and waxes in the formula which needs a bit of warm up if your eyelids are a bit dry to begin with. It also comes through during the day as the make up sets. It’s a really unique and workable formula not like anything else on the market. As you can achieve both a very matte powdery look as well as a more lived in creamier one depending on your technique. ❣️
I do so enjoy your videos. One comment -- I look forward to your kind sign off at the end of your videos, and sometimes it seems that the music volume comes up just a beat or two too soon and overpowers your last few words. They are important -- don't let the music drown out your message! Best for the holidays and the New Year. 🥂
yea any cream to powder formulas are meant to use a brush never a finger . honestly only shimmer type style formulas (unless liquid or creams)are meant to work with fingers. Cream to powders are more like mattes. I hated that nars mascara lol did nothing!
Her foundation! I wanted to love it but it so finicky! I hate using my fingers for foundation and it’s the only way it looks decent. I will declutter it eventually after I wrap my brain around the total waste of money!
Your last declutter feels like yesterday.

Wishing you a happy holidays and thank you for getting me through mine
Same same ❤❤
I love these videos revisiting old products.
Love HLP declutters! Happy holidays Poston fam! 💚❤
For moisture, my accessibility priced go tos are: Argan oil ($15 250mL), CeraVe or Mad Hippie ceremide night creams ($14 50mL; $32 50mL), Shea Moisture Baby lotion in Argan Frankensce Camomile ($9 263mL). Even Dr. Dray approves of CeraVe hand creams on the face ($11 500mL)
Few people can genuinely afford luxury everything.
I loved this video. It is so interesting to get a critical view of products that you’ve enjoyed and still feel unsure about. Thank you for sharing!
Looking forward to declutter time!
I really enjoyed this. Thank you
I just finished filming mine for the first time & it's such a different experience when you're speaking through your thought process. Can't wait to zone out to some HLP declutters..
also to say, the look pre-blush was STUNNING 🩷
I love the final look and ESPECIALLY the eyes!!!!!
Kjaer Weis now sells their tinted lip balm as a bullet format! 🥰
I signed up for the meditation class a few weeks ago. I’m really looking forward to it 🤍. I’ve taken her compassion classes because of your recommendation as well. I’ve definitely had to go through and re-listen to the recordings of the classes multiple times. She provides such a wealth of information!
Congratulations on winning the Folgers poetry contest.. AWESOME
thank you SO MUCH!!!!
Omg breastfeeding DRIED ME OUT LIKE A DESERT 🌵 And I am an oil slick normally
Gorgeous look. Love the lip and eye color.
You're right Hannah, these blushes are not right for you. So long. I wish you a very happy New Year too ❤
I think the Fenty Cheeks Out cream blush in Rose Latte would be interesting to you.
You know I love you when I watch a 10 minute Spark Tree ad for you 😂
I actually use the Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask under my makeup as a face moisturizer every day in winter. A small pea size amount blends nicely and doesn't have any residue or cast. Nothing else keeps my face moisturized properly. It does have a green cast to it if you use more, though, which could potentially be a benefit?
I'm so excited for declutters!!!
That’s what I came here to say too. The shade is gorgeous. I love Minette too.
i have damaged skin barrier on top of multiple hormonal issues and my skin is so rough to the touch. literally nothing works! yhink i'm gonna give that jones road cream a go
I think that eye shadow is stunning. It's an unusual, really rich chestnut brown.
Merry Christmas, Hannah!!!
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Already mässing you and looking forward to the new year! I hope you have a Happy Christmas and New Year ❤️
Have you ever tried "cocoa" by Salt New York? I've been using it across my face with a pop of "sunburnt" on the apples of my cheeks & it looks so great on light neutral skin. They've had some amazing sales, I can't even feel bad about getting it during the buy 4 get 4 free sale 😂
Hannah, I watch your review for the Nars mascara and I really liked the result and your description. I bought it and it was amazing upon application. But it smears so bad in few hours. I don't have watery eyes nor I live in humid climate. I will use it up but I am surprised you changed your mind too 😅😅😅
When i had the kjer Weiss balm i litterally kiss the balm to not get my finger dirty. This is beauty lover in a rush behaviour
You have to try Laura Mercier creme blush in praline. You will adore it
Just wishing you a Happy Christmas Hannah. A first as parents. Enjoy!
Once you smudge out the LE eyeshadow, then intensify the mobile eyelid with the finger to intensify the creaminess effect. Give it a try this way :)
My kids are 6 & 7, I'm still trying to get my head screwed on straight 😄❤️
I want to know what you ended up doing with the Nars and Rituel de Fille foundations? They are both really great!
also the final look is cute, almost 1920s vibe to it !
Can't wait. ❤ see you
I slightly panicked when you showed the Monica Blunder cover.
This was a fun approach to decluttering. And wow - those blushes really do look great on you! I’d ditch the eyeshadows and keep the blushes 😂
Yay! Love to see it.
13:55 Mew 😊
meow 😸
Westman Atelier has a new cheek color called Mimi that is that old gum/tawny beige color
yea any cream to powder formulas are meant to use a brush never a finger . honestly only shimmer type style formulas (unless liquid or creams)are meant to work with fingers. Cream to powders are more like mattes. I hated that nars mascara lol did nothing!
I can’t believe it’s only been one year since I’ve found your channel.
I love it
Always enjoy hearing your thoughts and observations. Best holiday wishes to you and your family!
I would really love to know what is in your personal palette.
You look gorgeous!
I have found when my skin is dry and flaky, the ONLY foundation product I can use is Jones Road WTF.
“Mroeww mreoww” oh, Hannah 😆🩷
Hannah are there different levels on patreon as im not seeing the video you mentioned in this video over there xx
it hasn't posted yet!!
Lol sorry xx@@HannahLouisePoston
That RMS foundation… what shade was it? Anyone catch that?
it's the lightest shade! 000
🎨
When I'm in a rush I don't pick up LE, in fact I don't really like it, same with her foundation 😕
Her foundation! I wanted to love it but it so finicky! I hate using my fingers for foundation and it’s the only way it looks decent. I will declutter it eventually after I wrap my brain around the total waste of money!
Does anyone else have a problem pumping out the rms foundation? I have two bottles that I have to completely open up and dig out in order to use.
