What do you think is the best Open World game ever? ^^
These games didn’t make it into the list because I didn’t have any gameplay footage available as of January 25, 2025:

This video is excellent compared to videos made clueless people who think that GTA 3 was first 3D open world game.

Great list,i also like that you put Gothic and STALKER into the list,but many games are missing but i understand that it is absurd to put all of Assassin's creed or GTA or Darksiders games into the list.Tomb Raider from 2013 and the other games in the series that came after is an example.

Idk but i couldn't have fun playing games like old once .There is more story and cutscenes than gameplay. But I really liked souls games,GOW and ghost of Tsushima.

It's not, they have open areas but a linear progression route

GOW 2018& Ragnarok are semi open ended games. They have hub areas. They're not open world games though. There's no fast travel mechanic for starters, every area is interconnected, You don't have a large scope of land to explore, and there's no Traversal system like RDR1&2. Red Dead Redemption allows you to ride a horse to get to your destination quicker. That games an open world. GOW isn't.
