Approximately one-fifth of Russia's landmass is north of the Arctic Circle. That was one-fifth of ALL of Russia!

Here are some other facts that were not mentioned. In the 1940s, Denmark turned Greenland over to the United States during WWII because they didn't want to defend it. The U.S. offered it back to Denmark after the war. The USA has maintained a presence there ever since. So, mostly, the USA pays for the defense so the Danes and 32 other NATO members can go on with their social benefits. Nobody mentioned where the Danes are dumping their nuclear waste from hospitals and other industrial uses in Denmark. I suspect they dump it in Greenland and not Copenhagen. Another interesting fact is that the Danes didn't give Greenland autonomous status until 2009 (after 800 years). However, all this ignores the real situation. Ask the Greenlanders if they want to be free from Denmark. The answer will be a clear "yes." All the free "stuff" from Denmark, where the Greenlanders are viewed largely as stupid and drunks, is hardly a consideration after you've experienced Danish colonialism.

Don’t lie, please. Denmark never handed over Greenland to USA. It had been part of the Kingdom of Denmark for all 800 years, it has NEVER been American! During World War II, the United States first signed an agreement, the Greenland Treaty of 1941, which gave them access to establish military bases in Greenland. In return, the United States would assume responsibility for providing Greenland with assistance to maintain the status quo during the five-year war.

@@The.Brave.Warrior You might want to check your facts on that!! Again, Denmark turned over Greenland in the 1940s.

@@daylightmoon7285 Bro, I am a Dane, and I am a Corporal in the Danish Defense. I have 4 educations and have had history about Greenland throughout my entire elementary school. I know the history inside out. You also lie about the nuclear waste in your first message. Denmark has never had anything to do with nuclear weapons, and we have always said No to the Americans' desire for nuclear weapons in Greenland. But I will gladly Copy Paste and translate the story for you, taken directly from the Danish National Dictionary:
The Greenland Defense Agreement of 1941 was concluded on April 9, 1941 in Washington DC between the Danish envoy in Washington DC, Henrik Kauffmann, and the US government. The defense agreement meant, that the US obtained the rights to establish airports and ports as military bases in Greenland.
You can look it up if you search on “Forsvarsaftale for Grønland af 1941”

@@The.Brave.WarriorAnyway, stop the Danish colonial occupation. And no, the Danish turned it over and President Truman offered to return it. Liberal, elite colonists can not rewrite history.

@@The.Brave.Warrior Also, Denmark was under control of the Nazis at the time. Greenland was not. Why do Danes always start with wordy, ego-centric backgrounds about themselves. Can't you just stay on topic?

Ukraine - "U kraia", "U kraia" on the outskirts - "na okraine"
The territory of Ukraine has always been the outskirts, the border zone, the edge of Russia, the Russian Empire, the Russian lands... In Russian, this is understandable phonetically and on a semantic level...
if only you knew that Ukraine was a single country before 1917, that the same people live there... You would be sad. Since the 9th century, Ukraine and Russia have had the same history and the same inhabitants in these territories. They have been fighting for these lands for generations... The British, French, Turks, and Australians came there (who couldn't stay on their island).. everyone wanted to conquer Russia..

Why are you using Gallium and Indium which are fairly rare and have major roles in high tech microchips? Just like Xenon ion-thrustors, you are using rare and valuable elements that are sprayed into space for the universe to recycle in 5 to 10 Billion years. I am surprised that you never even mention the cost of Gallium and Indium and how you tried to recover and recycle them or just discarded them for convenience.
