On Bagram, back in 06, I found the site of the triage hospital used by the Soviets. When injured soldiers were brought in, their uniforms and equipment were often cut off and discarded in large pits next to the hospital. These pits were dug up as part of the defining process. Uniforms didn't survive the years in the holes very well, but we did find fairly intact body armor. Anything metal fared well. To the point though, I found maybe three of the tennis shoes, of what I would call the Moskva brand. Yes, it us possible an off duty soldier was wearing them and was injured, but there is plenty of photographic evidence of them being worn during combat operations
I think that for your next soviet loadout you should do a motorized infantry loadout since you've already made a vdv, soviet marines and spetsnaz loadouts .
Great video, it's very helpful for people interested in the topic. Can you tell me what song is playing in the outro 8:13? It sounds like a Kino song I have not heard before...
Quick question the body armour I watched film 9th company last night and the scene where sars dies he gets shot in the back while he has the armour on so it wasn’t bullet proof or was it more of a flak jacket?
Hi comrade! Why some soldiers used in Afghanistan the panamanka hat with the red star badge and others with a green star, what is the meaning in the color difference?
I have been watching alot of your videos as I am building a soviet afghan loadout for airsoft. Does russian clothing fit big or small? I was just wondering before I go ordering stuff. Also where would be the best place to purchase russian surplus aside from ebay?
1)I buy my stall directly in Russia and Ukraine since I speak the language and have relatives and friends, so I can’t really advice anything. 2) Big and Small are very subjective measurements. Hello can’t ask this question since I am size 48/4 by Soviet standard. Go to Afgan groups on FB and ask other Americans :)

great video! i have a question, were the painted buckle and rubberized canvas belts ever used in afghanistan or any other conflicts, i've heared people say it's not accurate to use those belts and buckles. thanks!
Hello, this question requires a pretty long answer. Long story short, belts with painted buckles appeared in around 1982, they were intended to be used as field equipment. However most of the conscripts were using their service belts. In some minor quantities earlier field belts with Galvanized buckle and “naked” canvas could be seen. So now coming back to the pained field belts and buckles, I admit that they could make their way to Afghanistan in late war, but as you can guess it would be 1% or so, so statistically they are not correct for re-enactment. During the Chechen war they were used in some quantities due to shortages with of service belts, but commanders made soldiers to remove the paint( God knows why).
@@RedIvanMilitary thanks a lot for your detailed answer, was there a reason why conscripts used the service belts instead of the painted ones, despite having access to them? also do you have pictures of the belts that got their colors removed? thanks again,

Awesome video. I really like how you integrate historical photos and veteran comments into your presentations. Very helpful!
I learn a lot when I watch your videos, Спасибо Иван!
It's so interesting which units you choose Ivan, hope you keep up this work!
Another great video
KZS is my favourite suit for summer airsofting.
Berezka is such a classic
Who else realized the intro was Кукушка?
That's a very nice loadout.
Amazing video, I have most of everything in this video except for the rd54. Also does it matter what color the KZS top is? Mine is gold and white.
No it doesn’t matter. Any will work
@@RedIvanMilitaryEng Do you know where I can get an RD 54 and ROP 30 also where do you clip your canteen and bayonet on?
Btw. if you're up for recommendations, could you try to make some loadout for MVD in 1993 constitutional crisis?
Too expensive

My friend sent me from Ukraine 5 years ago.
Hello friends, i search the same baïonnette like you... have you got a link please ?
I bought it in Russia long ago, so can’t help, sorry.
I would also love to see the gear and equipment of Mechanized infantry during the Soviet Afghan war
Hey Ivan! where did you find this photo from? couldn't find in google without a smile emoji 😊

@@RedIvanMilitaryEng 6:02 this one also?
I'm using the modern 103rd AD (Belongs to the Special Operations Command of Belarusian Armed Forces) loadout now
Were selfcrafted chest rigs bassed on the lifevests used?
In this unit I didn’t see any.
Great video, what brand is the AKMS? I am interested in getting one for myself.

Great video!! I’ve been looking for a rubber replica of the AK bayonet but I can’t seem to find one, where did you get yours?
In Russia
@@RedIvanMilitaryEng That’s what I figured, I did discover that greyshop has rubber replicas of the 6x4 bayonet in stock which is very neat.

Red one is garrison, green one is a field version. But in reality they user what was supplied

Would it be acceptable to use M69 pattern soviet uniform with 6b2 and poyas A chest rig? Or would the 6B3 be more accurate for M69
M69 with 6b2 works fine. It is not a Fashion performance so body armor doesn’t need to match particular uniforms.
100/10
