Hi Everyone! I hope you''re having a great day! I'm really excited to share this video with you. I'm sharing my FIVE sourcing pillars or guidelines that I use to help purchase thrifted items for profit! I hope you enjoy it!!
Thank you so much, Lori, for sharing your content! You are why I am getting back into reselling; I went to Savers for the first time yesterday and saw firsthand the pricing inconsistencies you commented about. However, thanks to you, I knew to get my 20% off coupon first, keep donations at the ready in my car, and score some great finds! My store still needs to be put up, as I didn't have much around my house I could start with and needed to get my space prepped with inventory setup. Anyways, thank you again for your help, you are truly appreciated! 😆😊
I'm New to your channel,.I seen your video wher you were at the college with your kids and an 80's party,..I just want to say I'm glad I found you,.I love your honesty..not making it seem like it's a piece of cake to become wealthy at reselling,..me and my husband just started about a month ago,.We are actually drywall finishers,.he's been a finisher for 5 yrs and me for 29 years..and I just turned 50..but being in construction so many years it's tooken a big toll on my arm and neck and lower arm,.so I have been seeing videos for about 3 months and everyone basically makes it look so easy,..lol it's not..for me anyways,. 🤔 We have even took up clean up after estate sale,.every other week,.. have done two..house,sheds full I can't even do laundry ☹️☹️☹️..I'm so sorry for the book I just wrote .but I just want you to know that I appreciate your honesty
Welcome Tonia. I appreciate your kind message. Reselling is definitely hard work. Wishing you and your husband a lot of success with your reselling journey!
That's so great to hear Amanda. Thank you! I wanted to put something out that could be a reference for people who are new to reselling. I hope even seasoned resellers find something helpful. ❤️
Something I've noticed watching this video was that you and I look at thrifting and reselling in a very logical and analytical type of way. What you said in this video, I also say to myself about brands and styles and sizes. Just various things that I always consider when deciding on what pieces I buy.
I found two pairs of Rothy’s a month ago! Now for the kick in the fanny to open a Poshmark closet. Thanks for all the info, Lori! It’s such a help for those of us who might want to dip our toes in the reselling pool. 💕
Lori, I had those fur lined crocs in beige and they sold in 2 days for $43! I love selling just about any style of Crocs. Even when they are flawed, they sell. This was a very helpful video! Thanks for all your tips! Linda
Loved this video Lori! I love selling Eileen fisher as well. I would definitely like to see more of these videos in the future, thrift with me videos are my favorite!
I sold a Peruvian connection dress with a bunch of pulls that I had hand washed since it had dust on it and it came out weird and wrinkly and it still sold for like 70 bucks! I couldn’t believe it.
Home run: rounding the corner at a liquidation store and seeing a shelf full of Rothy’s at $12.00 a pair. Brand new; different colors and sizes. I did some authentication right in the store then bought 9 pair. I made a lot on those babies.
Your original video really helped me out when I first started sourcing. I went from "OH that's pretty" to "How much can I make from this?" I still do the oh thats pretty but I make sure it will make me some $$$$
My home run this month was a gorgeous Filson Original Navy Blue Messenger bag paid $4.99 regular bag price my GW doesn't know Filson yet sold on Ebay for $285 in 3 days home runs are few and far between but when they happen feels great !!
I love your videos and insight. I might come out to Boston in June - and when I do, whether now or another time, I'd love to meet if you're up for it. I typically stay with my friend in Medford. You are the person that showed me "the pit" in your videos and I can't wait to check it out. You also inspired me to pick up and list some things that have never even occured to me. I like the insight and "clases" or another more current series on this biz would be cool. :) Take care, Lisa
It sounds funny to say, but overall I love sourcing things that INSPIRE ME and that's not always brand driven. Sometime it's price and style, sometimes I just get a feeling. Oh and my brand is- Johnny Was, I was so excited to find it and it's a dud. LOL.
yeah I half heartedly went sourcing yesterday ( I am trying to do a no spend year ) Had three items but this thrift went up on all their prices so anywhere from 3- to 20 ... did comps on the pieces I found and even at 3 dollars buys in the most I would get is 25 so I put everything back ... if the cost was a dollar I would take more chances . I have limited space so I have to be very selective plus i am trying to sell my house to retire so do not want to move a lot ... supposedly this is a sellers market
I found a gorgeous La Perla NWT skirt at Goodwill for about 5.99 and it hasn't sold yet. I screamed when I found it lol. On another topic I list under Y2K/Festival Vibes. If you have Tennis attire also use Pickle Ball in your listing as that game is becoming very popular.
I found tieks twice in the wild, first one sold within 30 minutes of listing for $195. Second pairs print wasn't that desirable, so it took longer but it sold for $90.
Brands like Escada, Lafayette 148, Akris, Misook, St John, etc. I no longer pick up (unless it's something super special). I have these brands in my closet that I have had for over a year! I can't give them away!
I too have been on the platform for over 20 years. I use 20% as a conservative number to include any promoted listings, or shipping fees a seller might incur.

I would have left the Ralph lauren used sweater but I rarely buy sweaters used at thrifts they are always pilly with snares , pulls and stains
Death pile doesn't just sits there...it GROWS!!
So true!
Thank you for this video

Oh my goodness I took a lot away from this! Thank YOU once again my friend 💜

Great advice, thanks! Looovveee a good thrift with me!!!

Awesome content. Definitely checks everything in a reselling vlog. One of your best vlog. Great work. And the blouse- pretty!
Thank you Nanette! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. xo
Love your blouse!!
Thank you! It's actually a dress I found at the bins!

There is a lot to think about when we're deciding what to buy!
@@LorisBostonFound Are you like me where you've found brands and styles that work so you pretty much only stick to that?

Cindy with two pairs of Rothy's your closet will open with a bang!! Go for it girl!!

Thank you Keegan! I had fun with this one. I'm hoping my Eileen pants sell well!
I sold a Peruvian connection dress with a bunch of pulls that I had hand washed since it had dust on it and it came out weird and wrinkly and it still sold for like 70 bucks! I couldn’t believe it.
Wow, that is a great flip! I love the brand, it really does hold it's value. Thanks for watching.
Love selling Rothy’s - Sold a retired pair that I bought for $4 and sold for $$325.
Wow Bridget! That is amazing! What style were they?
@@LorisBostonFound It was a limited Edition Holiday Tartan plaid style!
My favorite Y2K Brands:
Mudd
XOXO
Juicy Couture
Steve Madden
Betsey Johnson
Rocawear
Baby Phat
Oh this is helpful, thank you!
Hi Lori. Thanks for the info it was fun. I remember when you did your last one
Glad you enjoyed it Janie! I can't believe it's been two years since that series!

What kind of liquidation stores sell Rothy’s for $12.? Hard to believe they are the real deal.
@@nancybarrett3988 they did and they were the ‘real deal’. All of them sold. I’m in Canada btw.
I would have fallen over! 😂 That's a grand slam!

No, but they will now 🙄🙄🙄.
Loose lips sink ships...💯.
Hi Lori - The Trina Turk blue top should do well, I imagine. Power blues are trending for Spring and Summer.
Oh that's great to know! It really is a pretty piece. Fingers crossed!

I have no luck with Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor, etc. I am curious to see how the Trina Turk sweater does for you.
Nanette Lepore coats/jackets do fairly well. For me a few times anyway.

Lori, love the tips... Any tips for growing my Reselling RUclips Channel? 😉 😉 😉
I think being consistent is KEY. Don't be afraid to take chances with your content. Have fun with it!

Of course thrifts are going up...because of RUclipsrs.

Ebay's commission on clothing & shoes/accessories is NOT 20%...and never has been...reseller there from 1996.
