Hi Jen, Good morning! A little interesting fact about gooseberries: There is a fungal disease (White Pine Blister Rust) which requires 2 hosts to complete its lifecycle - gooseberries and white pines. Because of the importance of tall masts on sailing ships in our early maritime history, and white pines being the most important source of those masts here, gooseberries were eradicated in the US long ago, which is why we don't grow or have gooseberry products here. In the UK, they eradicated the pines, so they grow gooseberries there.
@@OuiOui-hu1kosome states have a ban on Gooseberries. We have them on our farm and can as long as we don't have the white pines. I grew up making gooseberry jam. Love it.
Jen, I love lemon curd and better still you can make lemon drizzle cake with it, easy to make and you will love it! 🥰
A way to reduce the tartness of the jam would be to mix it with sugar, honey, or a sweet jam. Tartness counteracts spiciness in food, so if you are into stuffed jalapenos, the tart jam may make a nice dip for that.
Now I just need to go to England. 😊 Love the review! ❤
If queen Elizabeth said that Meghan Markle is evil, she was actually very right.
Yes, but we all know it. What did she do to protect the RF, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth? Se might have been too old and frail to intervene herself, but she could have asked her heir successor. Sorry, but that's my humble opinion.
and I think you are spot on ❤️🇬🇧
Agree
Maybe add cream cheese to the tart one to tone it down? On a croissant to make a danish. The gosling is so cute ☺️
The Queen can spot a snake 🐍 a mile off. A Beautiful Lady and very shrewd. Long live the queen
Meghan CRIED when her 50 jars of “handmade by Meghan” commercially produced, basic recipe, strawberry jam didn’t bring her accolades.
How many of the 50 actually posted to social media; 5 or 6?
She cried. She is abandoning ARO.
Hmmmm, who predicted this? OH, WE DID!
Hahaha love this comment so true!
Oooh... lemon curd. My daughter and I are having a girl's weekend downtown and have made a reservation at a fancy hotel for afternoon tea and I am so looking forward to it!!
@@Ciao_Bella if you ever visit Aviemore in Scotland you can have afternoon tea on a train with a little bottle of prosecco as champagne, it's worth it, to go to the train station at Glen Bogle from the TV series Monarch of the Glen.
@@yvonneburns2786I love “Monarch of the Glen”!
@@yvonneburns2786 Thanks for the tip.😄
Why would the Duke of Westminster invite Wallis and vomit to his wedding.they would probably take a jar of strawberry jam for their wedding gift and ask for their feedback as soon has possible 😅😅😅😅🇬🇧
Meghan would wear a white dress and veil for attention 🤣
She was more likely to have had a full on fake lady disaster in front of the alter just before Duke do dah and his bird tied the knot. You know what they say about narcissists - always the bride at a wedding, always the corpse at a funeral. Look at meeeee …….🫠
A backless white dress!@@RealHousewivesRecaps
Didn’t DOW say weeks ago they weren’t invited? So despite the last minute PR puff pieces the fact is the UK is living on. The DOW doesn’t owe Harry or anyone else an apology for not inviting them. They are so yesterday whiners…
And she would probably announce something at the wedding too, as she can't bear to have the attention on someone else.
My daughter in law went into Fortnum and Masons, London, and were just eyeing the amazing items when we spied some fresh strawberries coated in chocolate and were exclaiming how wonderful they must taste, but moved on as we could not afford them. A few minutes later a gentleman approached us and said that he had just bought the chocolate strawberries but could not finish them (he had eaten just one) and would we like them! He appeared to have overheard us at the counter and graciously bought them for us! We were overjoyed! 🏴🇬🇧
What a wonderful experience, thank you for sharing it.
Meghan Markle could never do such a good box of goodies. Love the hamper.
Me too Brenda! It is so fun!
@@RealHousewivesRecaps I want to order one. ☺
I love that you included your daughter!! She has your wit and personality ❤❤
Thank you Raelene ❤
most definitely,,,a daughter ( sorry, gosling) to be proud of,
And if she has your sense of humour,,- well she's beaten life's troubles already.
Outstanding.
there’s more chance of Meghan allowing Harry to FaceTime his dad than me buying any of her jam.
I don't think it actually exists.
Are you aware Sueme discussed a comment you left on her show 6-7-24?
I love your unboxing .
Now I really want to get some.
I bet MM dream of these kind of unboxing for her stupid jam. lol
Jen, your gosling sounds adorable and very intelligent. ❤❤
Thank you so much Brenda ❤
@@RealHousewivesRecaps You are very welcome Jen. ♥
The gosling sounds so cute and I just loved her saying the biscuits were the best thing in her life! So funny 😆 ❤
“This is the best thing in my life!” Oh, Gosling, you are adorable! I love these videos Jen! It’s so sweet to hear you and your daughter share this with us!
Your daughter is delightful Jen. My girls are grown now & listening to your sweet Gosling takes me back to such fun times
Aaah! Fortnum and Mason my absolute favourite store on earth.
Agreed! I love wandering around looking at everything so beautiful!
F&M Royal Blend, my all time favorite tea. Brought a case back to Atlanta my last trip to London. 🥰
F & M make the most amazing marzipan small vegetables snd treats for the Christmas table….they are gorgeous!!!
Even when empty the jars / containers can make a classy feature to grace any kitchen display.
The gosling is a star! She is so articulate and gracious! What a lovely family you all are!
I forgot to mention that in the UK, we also have a food supermarket called Waitroise and they stock food items grown and or made the the land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, which now belongs to the Prince of Wales. I'm not sure if they ship internationally but it's very high quality farmers market type food items which are delicious! If you do decide to buy, just make sure it has the Duchy of Cornwall on the labelling. Enjoy! Sending you lots of love from me in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️
I wannabe your new BFF!🇦🇨🥰🇺🇲.
Lock up the chocolate biscuits😂😂😂 you can use them for bribery and get more chores around the house done😂😂
So pleased that all of the packing is recyclable.
My family send me these huge Fortnum and Mason hampers every Christmas, I love them because you get a huge wicker basket with it!
It's a dream of mine to get one of their hampers someday. Lucky you!
The Duke and Duchess of Jam. What a pair.
Scam jam!
Earl of Dumbarton & his Ho from SoHo
I love these unboxing videos. It reminds me of home. Thanks to Megain for inadvertently promoting Royal Collection products. I would never have thought of ordering them and now they are my go to for special gifts for friends 😀
I didn’t know you could order either. I ordered from Balmoral and Highgrove for my daughter and DIL for Mother’s Day. They were surprised and loved everything. I ordered myself a purse from Balmoral!!
I do my sons a hamper each for Christmas. Some bits from High grove and some bits from F&M. They love them.
@@janjeffrey5679 please pass that on to my adult children and grandchildren!!!!
Next time you are in London, visit the Fortnum and Mason food court, heavenly.
How adorable and intelligent is your gosling?!
Lemon curd is the food of the gods! ❤
Spot on.
Totally agree. Lemon curd is heavenly
Awww thank you
Lemon curd cheesecake, lush! Lime curd and passionfruit curd are lovely too.
'Tart' gooseberry is Tart- I drink fortune & Mason tea leaves - I love that you are trying our British 'posh'..

British very posh 😂😂❤❤❤
"We did a thing" is going on my list of favourite sayings along with "fetch the treasury I must have it" (Tank ) xxx
😂😂😂😂
All the products look so beautiful! Love their packaging ❤️
Jelly’s usually in the uk we tend to use them as “sides” to meat dishes, or cheese boards. crab apple jelly would be used with pork, red currant jelly with Lamb (also mint Jelly or mint sauce). X
Sounds delicious! Thanks
My Grandmother used to eat lemon or lemon and lime jelly on toast. It tastes like marmalade without the rind, she didn't like the rind. I used to make it for her and my Dad.❤
We had crab Appel trees growing up made lots of crab apple jelly used on toast, and pork roasts and roasted chicken mmm good!
Jen, I have been loving all of the unboxing of your purchases. ❤
Thanks Brenda
Same here! I didn’t even know that Highgrove produced jams and teas!
@@sadiemae9446 I just learned about it from Jen's first box. ♥ ☺
I love the Highgrove tea. The Royal Collection sells a similar one that also VERY good.
❤❤❤Honk, honk, Lady Goose!
Honk honk and good morning thanks for being here ❤
This collection makes me want to crack out the toast, scones and crumpets, and put the kettle on. ❤
We want more of this mother-daughter duo for MORE food tastings.....love love loveeee❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello there, Gosling. Good job. 🦆👋 👍
Thank you ❤️
Your daughter sounds adorable and very confident...good job momma
Fortnum and Mason is a beautiful shop to go visit, I go there every now and again to drool over the products, so fancy and elegant
It was lovely to hear from your lovely Gossling. You have a beautiful relationship and it’s very nice having children that are not invisible
Amen HELPING THEM CHARITY
Lemon Curd is my favourite! I can eat it straight from the jar. 😆
I enjoy making my own too
Me too
What fun!
Lovely that we got to hear your daughter, she sounds delightful.!.
I remember seeing pictures of the late Queen on an official visit to Fortnum's where she wore a coat in the Fortnum's blue - it was beautiful 😍
Lemon curd folded through whipped cream on top of a meringue topped with fresh raspberries!!
Oooh now.behave. or a lemon curd meringue roulade with fresh raspberries xx
As a Brit, Fortnums is one of my favourite places for when I fancy a treat or five! Their hot chocolate is to die for! And I always have a constant supply of their Royal Blend tea bags, no milk required! It's heavenly. Their truffles and biscuits are gorgeous, too, as is their English wines! They do a great selection of hampers too with traditional British picnic treats! Next time you're in London, go to their Picadilly store and treat yourself to an afternoon tea! ❤😊
I love gooseberries, just brought a red gooseberry bush for my garden.
I have a red gooseberry bush in my garden, the only problem is that the birds always get to them before I can 😢
@@margeryewing4137 good to know, as the birds are already feasting in my peppers and cherry tomatoes!!!
The bag is really cute. I want that lemon curd.
Love the ingrediants, tins, boxes even the box it came in.
All of these items look heavenly! I’m going to have to go check them out! There’s no way scam jam could ever compete when companies with superior products like these exist.
Your gosling is adorable! Loved her commentary about the jams and biscuits
Swirl some of the gooseberry through natural yogurt - delicious. The summer berry preserve dolloped on a meringue with some custard. Their sweetness will balance out the tartness
I was at Fortnum yesterday and bought the Lemon Curd. Just ate some for breakfast. Lovely.
Oh how nice! Great minds! I am really loving that. I just added some to blueberry yogurt. Delicious!
@@RealHousewivesRecaps Excellent idea. Glad you enjoyed the mix. As I live 70 miles from London I used to bring back items for my Mum which she loved. Sadly she has passed away now. It's wonderful for me to see someone enjoying these products. Brings back memories. Thank you for all you do on your videos.
Love F&M ❤ always good go to for gifts.
Crab apple jelly! My great grandma would make some for me when I was little.
Awwww that sounds so lovely. What a nice grandma.
I have made homemade crab apple jelly. My mother used to make it when I was little. It is easy to make, and it is still my favorite jelly. You have a wonderful box of goodies.
In France we often eat Fig persevere / jam with cheese. Crab apple is like a side relish with pork or maybe cheese . 😘💋 to cute kid so sweet ❤️. Love the products and even the cardboard box was pretty. The blue turquoise bag is their signature colour .❤️❤️
I purchased mother's day gifts from Highgrove and everyone was thrilled :) 1 Honey, 2 marmalades with whisky, and a package of seeds - great pricing - shipping was $55.00 -more than the items, but forewarned is forearmed. Thanks for the ideas.
That is wonderful (not the shipping cost but the idea for Mother's Day gifts! )
First I bought Highgrove jam out of spite. However, once I ate some of it and discovered what a high quality product it is, with a fair price, I got more, simply because I LIKE it!
I’m afraid I did too. I knew it would be good though, because the Duchy of Cornwall stuff is excellent quality and value as is the royal collections for balmoral, Hollywood palace and Buckingham palace which I had bought previously.
@@Sally-nse2 I generally don't like jam, but I have to say, Highgrove was excellent.
Have the tart jams with strong tasting cheese.. So yum!
Absolutely correct...yum!!
Lemon curd is so good on shortbread biscuits!
Excellent idea thanks
"THAT'S THE BEST THING IN MY LIFE" Your gosling's reaction is priceless. I'm going to order the biscuits for my daughter and partner based on her reaction! 🎉😊
I absolutely love lemon curd. I can't buy as I would eat an entire loaf of bread and jar in a week!😂
God bless your lovely Gosling! 😊❤ what a sweetie!!
You are encouraging me to make a purchase from Highgrove!! I just got the notification that the merch is available.
Let me know if you decide to grab some stuff!
I buy a lot of products from the UK and the EU. They don't use nearly as much sugar as we do in the US. After my husband got used to the lower amount of sugar, we got into some ice cream and both of our mouths turned inside out. It was so sweet. The last time I looked at a Campbell's tomato soup list sugar or corn syrup was one of the top ingredients. The US government back in the '50s decided children did not get enough calories with what they were eating so they started putting sugar and everything. It hasn't stopped.
The prices are great but the shipping is unfortunately too expensive. I’m happy for the locals who can easily afford to purchase! That’s who this is for! 😍
When I was little the next door neighbour has gooseberry bushes in the garden, like a little hedge adjoining our garden. I used to pick off the gooseberry and eat them raw, I had permission btw. My mum used to make some lovely gooseberry puddings. I have tried to grow them but I’m hopeless. There is a place not far from me where I take my grandchildren strawberry picking but they have other fruits too. I buy the strawberries we pick but I also pick up gooseberries at the same time. My sister once gave me some for her garden and they were the best I have ever had but she is about 100 miles round trip and it’s all about the timing, the gooseberries have to be just right.
Also, back in the time when I was born, late 50’s. People used to tell children that babies were found under gooseberry bushes. I was the youngest of four and my sisters used to tell me that they remembered finding me under the bushes.
Amazing! I've just moved to a new house and I think I have some coming in! Definitely raspberries have 😂
The mustards....next time order mustard...
Oh I did on a previous video I loved it! I tried the honey mustard and really enjoyed it.
@@RealHousewivesRecaps Excellent....I lugged 6 crocks home for gifts...next time it will be those mega chocolate bisquits ...
Hello from Canada... thanks for sharing your order from the UK... everything looks delicious. Those chocolate biscuits look very delicious... 😋
Please look up Uk Jam and Lemon Curd Tarts Recipe! Chefs kiss! Ha! Also as a child we used to put tart jams on Rice Pudding and stir it in!
Thanks for another fun unboxing with you and your darling Gosling, Jen =).
I hope that you ladies let Jay have some chocolate goodies too! Blessings to your sweet family =).
Hiii first off great name! Second haha I don't know if the gosling is willing to share the chocolate biscuits 🤣
@@RealHousewivesRecaps hehe =).
So disappointed to hear Madam MeeMee Dumbarton has (allegedly) punted ARO downfield and stormed out of the stadium in tears.
I was so looking forward to spreading some of her gourmet 'VaJayJay Jelly' on the 'Monthly Cramps Crumpets' and downing it all with a cuppa Tit-illating Tantrum Tea. Wishing the "insanely smart" diva better luck on the next bright idea. With her "freakish attention to detail" how could it possibly FAIL? AGAIN
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😮😂😂
I have been blessed with many Fortnum and Mason products over my long life. I have never had a Duffer EVER!! All were even more delicious than described on the jar/tin.
Nooooo...gooseberries are delicious...red or green...nothing liké redcurrants etc(i hâte thèm) but love goosegogs as well call thèm. Grow thèm...yum!
I live in New York and I love going to Amish country in Pennsylvania. There is store there where you can actually watch Amish women making the products they sell. I was there last week and they were making peach jam. When I buy jam that is where I get it. The Amish make some of the best desserts and food anywhere(you can order online with some of the businesses). They make the best butter I have ever had as well as meats, cheeses, ice cream, milk, pickles and so on. I am headed to Ohio next week and plan on checking out the Amish country there.
Did you go to Lancaster???
When we had our farm in worcestershire.
We had crab apple 🌳 and picked them and made crab apple jelly.
Also picked elderberries and elderflowers and made wine. Gorgeous. Damson wi e too.
In fact we used to make a lot of different wines and beer..
We went Raspberry strawberry and gooseberry picking to get pocket money in school holidays. Great fun. Im 76yrs now but have great memories. Im a country girl xx
I love the unboxing videos! So much better than thinking of the other ones.
Hi Jen. Such an impressive haul of goodies. But where are the lemons w/shriveled leaves & wilted baby's-breath? Your little gosling is an unboxing pro!
Hahaha this comment cracked me up! I did it all wrong, where are my rotting lemons 🤣
I enjoy your UK hauls.
Thank you
Can’t wait for your order from Marks & Spencer. Beautiful fashions too!
Oh great idea thanks
😅😅😅😅
I'm so glad I bought some crumpets earlier today because now I want crumpets and jam. The Gosling is so adorable and very smart. I have to say my Drunk Goose tote bag is excellent quality too. It's made out of a very strong canvas, and I take it to work every day with my bits and bobs in it. I really love it, and I always get comments on it too.
You both made me hungry! They all look so delicious. Loved seeing this. I can't wait to see your next collaboration with the gosling ♥️🇦🇺
LOL gooseberrys grew wild when I grew up.. we would eat them in the woods. Lemon curd is wonderful between white cake layers yum
If I make a plain Victoria Sandwich or Madeira cake (similar to white pound cake) or a lemon cake I sandwich with lemon curd ... or you could use any of those jams.
I'm waiting for the personally signed bananas.

I almost went to smell my phone screen when you lifted up the lemon curd to show us. 😂😊
The gosling is brilliantly adorable! 😂❤❤❤
Lemon curd nom nom nom💚🇬🇧👏👏👏👏
Great items! I grow gooseberries in my garden - delicious in a tart or a crumble - as well as jostaberries which are a cross between a gooseberry and blackcurrant.
My favorite unboxing and products was the first one you did with the basket, jewelry, jam, etc.!
When growing up in Central Europe, I ate both currents and gooseberries.
There are three different kinds of currents, white, red and black, all super healthy, but indeed tart in taste.
Gooseberries when fully ripen are either green , or radish but very sweet, only unripe gooseberries taste sour
The tea caddy is beautiful.😘
Hi Jen, in the UK gooseberries are a very autumn thing to eat, I've only ever seen green ones, not my fave fruit to eat but very British old school!
Thanks for sharing! I cannot wait to get my hands on Highgrove jam!!!
I love the unboxing videos. They're like a huge palate cleanser from harry & mm. Everything looks so yummy!
Kind of what I think too, sometimes we need a break. And a cookie 🤣 thanks!!
@@RealHousewivesRecaps Oh yes to both! Lol

I stuck to the food but they have wonderful fashion...
I haven't tried the tea room yet. Very much on my list!
Everything looks so lovely 😍 you will have to go on adiet by the time you finish the Hamper 😅😅😅
You can use the lemon curd with a reconstructed lemon meringue pie. Also fab with a teaspoon put inside muffins before they are cooked
The tins are super cute. A keepsake. ❤
I need those biscuits! Ordering immediately!!
I love your username! There are several flavors, I went with the chocolate ones. There are also toffee ones, cherry, and ginger ones, let me know if you try any of them!
I just brought from F&M again getting the coolest mini hamper full of lemony goodness, including lemon curd (which is really good on a toasted English muffin). Their jams and marmalades are heavenly. Shame I can't show you pics!
With my first bigger hamper I got an extra tin of pistachio clotted cream cookies, thinking I'd accidently ordered 2, but I didn't so it was a lovely gift.
Oh that is so cool! Sounds like they throw in gifts like that, what a thoughtful touch!
Yum!!!
Great
When we went to Bastogne we stayed at a Bed & Breakfast and they made their own gooseberry jam. Fell in love, but can’t find it at home in Maryland.
Another cooking idea from me is lots of times when I have leftover jellies and jams, I spread them over chicken. And I would think the tart jam would be excellent for this purpose because as you cook it, whether on the grill or under the broiler or in a frying pan or whatever the sugars in the jam will caramelize and actually temperate the tartness. I love chicken with grape, jelly and chicken with apricot jelly. I spread it on skin on bone-in chicken pieces. When you're done. It makes a great sauce in the pan.
The mixed fruit would be delicious with clotted cream on scone., 🇬🇧
Great idea!
