I’m using the slimmer ak400 variant. Love the clean look of the AK series. Does a decent job on my 3600. I prefer single tower coolers as they usually don’t block the first ram slot for RGB and tall ram sticks.

No, it is talking about the rear clearance for your VRM heat sink. It’s flush with the CPU socket so any Ram will work. You can kind of see it on the video

The installation procedure was very helpful. BTW, in regards to those horrible fan brackets, I found that grabbing them with needle nose pliers was the fastest, and most pain free way get them off or back on.
I like this type of px cooler as you have a directional air stream... you could have a front case fan blowing at the cooler which then blows it straight through, out the other side to the exhaust fan on the rear. This way you also have positive air pressure I installed my cooler so the fans (I upgraded my cooler with a good coolermaster fan on the inlet side and the original fan on the outlet side of the block. It actually points up at the top fans and when gaming you can feel the hot stream of air pumping out the top... i see so many AiO setups with tonnes of fans, for god knows what
The low rpm low noise is common then I guess. Mine does it too. I'll be watching a movie and the droning sound will come and go but not that alot. It sounds like a slight bearing rubbing noise. I'm overclocking a R5 3600 to 4.3 gigahertz and on games like war zone and Halo infinite it will never jump over 50 degrees Celsius. It's a good cooler I got it on Amazon for 40 bucks on sale, worth every penny.
Nice review, there's only a couple of them on this cooler. I have this Cooler on a AMD 7700X. It's totally fine stock but even better since I applied a negative PBO curve in bios. Doesn't even hit the target temperature of 95c in Cinebench when pulling 125w on the package. I moved the stock fan to the back and put an RGB FC 120 deepcool fan on the front. This didn't really affect temps. It may on a lower TDP CPU. As far as fan noise. The rgb fan from deep cool is quiet at all speeds. The stock fan that came with the cooler has a whine at high RPMs.
Your videos are insanely good, truly. You show a lot of details that are very easy to miss, I was in doubt if I should purchase this cooler or not because I don't have a L shaped screw driver and honestly couldn't be arsed getting one. I was most definitely going for another cooler if that wasn't included in the box. All that being said, keep doing your videos just the way you are, thank you very much!
@@DannysTechChannel Almost everyone mount it that way here because of the neat checkerboard looking, but most people use low profile ram and i already have tall one ( RipjawsV). I also have a 140mm fan in rear top position of the H5 Flow case even if it was not made to it still fit using the venting holes for the screws.

I’m not sure on the performance difference since I only got to test the AK500, but I did hear a rumor that the dual tower coolers are sometimes asymmetrical due to bending. Not sure now true that is. Might be sometime good for me to try out soon
What if you cap the frames in the driver or the game to 'times X" of the displays capabilities? For example: With a 60Hz Display you set a frame cap of 120, 180 or 240Hz. Would that benefit the experience in any noticable way?
Each motherboard has their own BIOS. They are similar, but not identical. I’m sure there are videos on here outlining how to optimize your fan curve. That’s something I’d have to look into making.
It should be enough for R9 7900 non-X right? But will it be compatible with the Strix X670E-I mobo? (Considering the chunky VRM heatsink & the stacked M.2 slot)
I haven’t tested the AS500 but from what it looks like, the fin stack is smaller so this should perform better and depending on the size of the heat pipes too.

so you tested an air cooler outside of a case, these are completely false temps that are not real world. put it into a real world scenario, of coarse temps will be great and fan noise will be quiet.
Using AMD motherboards is not at all a true test of the capabilities of any aftermarket CPU cooler nowadays, because Intel CPUs are a burning furnace compared to Intel CPUs (especially the LGA1700 ones). So, next time you decide to review a CPU cooler, go with an Intel platform.
@@DannysTechChannel they're prone to bending. My mates ak620 that he got is asymmetrical out of the box. Lucky mine is aligned near perfectly so no complaint there.

That’s one of the things that was really impressive with the AK500. It’s a bigger tower cooler and doesn’t block the Ram slots at all.

Doubtful. It’s not made to mount that way. Why would you want to? Just flip the fan if you need intake from the back

It should handle the 7600x without any changes. The AK400 is more for upgrading with an extra fan. The 500 is already pretty thick

I don’t know. The AK500 is the only cooler I’ve gotten to test. The AG500 looks like an RGB version of one of these coolers.

small improvement in input registering speed, probably wont notice it, but will have a lot of screen tear

Nothing. The 7600x has an out of box temp of 95c. It’ll be the same temps. Mine does the same thing. Undervolt the CPU using AMDs Ryzen Master
