Oh what a change in National Airport from 1967 til now. I remember having lunch in the Washingtonian restaurant, which was in the original main building (on the outside was written "Washington National Airport". I remember flying in and out of National on Eastern Airlines, Northwest Orient Airlines and United Airlines.
That airport was once called the Washington National Airport and is the 1st airport serving DC's area. The 2nd is BWI, even though it's in Metropolitan Baltimore, and the 3rd is Dulles which is also entirely in Metropolitan DC. In 1998, the airport was renamed in honor of Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the US.
But hey, at least the airport is very centralized in the DC area and in a neighboring satellite city which is of course Arlington County, VA or as people call it simply as Arlington, VA which is known for The Pentagon. After Dulles was opened in 1962, international flights were reduced in the Reagan Airport having strict air travel and a maximum radius of flights. A lot of international flights were transfered to Dulles since it's bigger than the Reagan Airport.
Thanks for a great video as always 😁 it seems to be a nice and bright airport and I would love to go through one day. I have only ever flown into Dulles and I can’t say I’m a big fan. I hope I will get to see more airline reviews from you soon 😁
@@neoflyerx the only thing about leaving DCA is that it’s very crowded. To the point where you might not find seating at your gate and have to stand. Also if you’re going by car it can get really congested too. BWI is better than Dulles in my opinion, not too big not too small. But they both suck getting to.
@@JhonnyBoi Yeah I agree. If DC could get a metro or train right to BWI and actually open the metro to IAD things would be better. But who knows when the metro to IAD will ever open.
Love this airport. Very easy to get in and out of. I like the amenities in Terminal 2 better. I usually fly out of Terminal 1 which is pretty crammed if I am honest and doesn't have as many good options. They even used to have a small duty free stand after security in Terminal 1 but I guess they dropped it?
Are you still able to walk between Terminal A (Southwest / Air Canada ) and Terminal B/C without going outside or using the bus ? You used to be able to use a walkway that connected the two terminals, but I am not sure if you can now with the new configuration ?
Thank you for the video! Is there a place i could rest? I'm transferring so i need to stay at the airport or go somewhere else for 11 hours. Also is there a place that i could take a shower or eat. My flight arrives at 11pm so idk if the shops are closed or not
There are airport lounges that you can find here (www.flyreagan.com/travel-information/services-amenities/airline-lounges). They are on the 3rd floor of the National Hall. You will have to pay for them though.
Gorgeous airport. One of my favorites.
Glad you like it, I love it because it's not only beautiful but also so close to DC!

Wow that must have been a while ago, I don't think even think I was born when Eastern was around.
Was there last month. Very easy airport to get in and out of. I love how DC's just right there.
Me too! The subway from DCA is very easy.
Explain me please Not easy for me 😖
I appreciate this, I have a layover here tomorrow and I’m a bit nervous about my flight so this helps me a lot!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this video! I would like to know more about accessibility and how to navigate the airport as a person with mobility challenges.
Of course, check out this page on Reagan's airport page: www.flyreagan.com/customer-service/services-patrons-disabilities
Great visuals music and flow. Nice airport
Thank you
I’m flying there on southwest from San Jose, with a connection in Chicago. Awesome vid! Subbed
Glad to hear. Wish WN had direct from Bay Area to DC but so far no. During COVID they ran OAK-BWI but I don't think they do anymore. Have fun.
2:50 AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
I noticed that too I was like wait did they just trip over their own luggage?? I’m confused what happened.
Yeah... I didn't even notice while I was filming just later.

Glad you liked it. This is definitely better than Dulles, much quicker to get through and more light.

I have no idea whether or not there is a duty free in T1, maybe next time I fly from there I'll get back to you.
I was there yesterday. Very decent airport

Yes you can, however it is a long walk.
Can you make a video of the new Terminal B and Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport?
I already have a video of Terminal B. Check my videos.
