Another cool Indev server yall might be intrested in is "Skyblock Isles" which is a runescape-like MMORPG with a unique combat system. It was originally a server developed by Bejan Canadian, but after it unfortunatly flopped, the server was picked up by a bigger team and is now getting redeveloped from the ground up with a MUCH larger scope, like custom bosses and a huge build team working full work days on the server. I am one of the beta testers for the server and am VERY excited for the full release.
yea i was checking it out yesterday (i got alot of comments mentioning it). looks great! Theres a group i primarily use when searching for projects worth sharing called The Crossroads. A bunch of players interested in RPG/MMORPG MC servers and project managers of said servers are huddled up here. it would be dope if we managed to get some Skyblock Isles 2.0 representation :D tryna get it added to their list now
Back in the day Dungeon Realms used to be one of the biggest Minecraft mmos. While the updates nowadays are few and far between it still has a great progression and gear system! Definitely worth checking out!!
technoblade has some of the best moments in minecraft history. if there is anyone to take inspiration from as a creator, it is Technoblade wynncraft has a nice start. they've done some work to improve the tutorial and make it a better first time experience :D
Making a Minecraft RPG is super difficult! I have a lot of respect for anyone who creates one. i think that starting wynncraft late is going to be really cool because if it gets updates alot then you have a basically endless source of entertainment because there will always be more for you to do
OMG Looni, I can't believe you just brought back the memory of MCInfected for me. That was one of the first servers I ever played! The nostalgia is kicking in. I can still remember some of the camp spots where you couldn't get killed. Kids these days don't know how much fun it was and I feel bad :P
im really not sure if it would be something that works nowadays. MCInfected reached a point where the only real updates were maps and adding anything beyond that had potential to ruin the good game flow that the server had achieved. Project Mayhem's MCInfected 2.0 proved that. they added too much bullshit and it brought their game to a halt
Might be in the minority here, but Skyblock ruined Hypixel for me. They used to put out a decent amount of Prototype games... after Skyblock, that basically died. And no new big gamemodes. All that matters now is Skyblock.
MMORPGs are chunky and resource heavy. Hypixel might not have expected the success they received and the game got a TON of media attention. it is now the largest game in Java Minecraft so it makes sense why they would focus on it. the rest of their games on the network are practically finished. the only thing they could do is give them new maps

Its nice to see Monumenta show up. I played it a lot during pandemic times and ngl I did have a pretty bad rep (mostly due to me being hella immature) but I did really enjoy my time. Starting a guild with the few friends I made on the server was amazing but I really stopped playing soon after they did after I realized I really didn't enjoy grinding a lot and enjoyed constant action much more. I really want to restart and give it another playthrough but I have a lack of friends that want to play with me lol.
hoooo damn i've been looking for new minecraft experiences beyond wynncraft, and these look like real solid recommendations. the CTM one has me especially interested, thanks for this
Yall remember that "skyblock isles" or whatever it was called that blew up for like 2 days before dying instantly because it didnt have anything new that wasnt done before?
Finally! A video about a proper RPG. Honestly, I'm a very big fan of RPGs, and when I first heard of Wynncraft, I was astounded by how great it was. However, with my computer's capabilities, it's pretty hard to enjoy playing it. With that, I have searched for different servers that offer "RPG" or "Dungeon" types of experiences, though it wasn't really as exciting as I thought it would be. Minehut was one of the few that I often played from, but its server genres are all over the place. I even went as far as to play RPGs outside of Minecraft (PoE, GW2, and some games from Roblox). My appetite for RPG experience is just too big. There are some RPG games on Steam that look pretty good, but some needed to be bought for you to play them, and some required system requirements that my current setup couldn't handle.
Yes, I know that RPG stands for role-playing game, and you could say that prison or box-type servers can be considered RPGs since you are role-playing as a prisoner trying to get out. But the thing is that if you heard the word RPG, you would think of Wynncraft, Hypixel, WoW, GW2, PoE, New World, etc. To me, prison servers like Purple Prison or any of the Box-type servers shouldn't be considered RPGs since they already have a main genre, which would be Prison and Box. Well, that's just my opinion.
As a mid game skyblock player, I would recommend trying it at least once. There is a 2 types of players, those who can play it and those who cannot. If you like it - it would be a multi thousand experience, but if you don’t - just don’t do it. I’ve seen lots of comments like “skyblock is only grind”, but I can tell you, at least the first 100 hours you just exploring and doing fun things. After that to progress you would need gear, so you will have to either grind for it or do something else. And also, skyblock is 1000 times better with friends.
I feel like that the thing I'll enjoy most early on is the fairy hunt since it takes you all over the map lol A bit of exploration innit I agree though. Definitely depends on the player. I compare it to prison servers because that's the niche most appropriate for HSB. Some people probably just play it because it's the #1 thing to play in Java and that kinda sucks
I loved that Final Paradox frame as u talked about CTMs since it is one of the most ambitious and well-developed projects by the Hispanic community. Thanks.
@@loonitick I'd love to hear ur opinions for the bosses once u play enough of the map. Some of them are just insane. The final boss? Oh boy u are going to be hyped
@@MultiOrigame the boss fights are awesome. i'd never expect how smooth the mechanics are despite being only command blocks. they've pulled off something truly incredible
Wynncraft is better than hp skyblock. One simple reason as to why. Wynncraft allows me to use 6 cps macros while Hypixel will force me to get carpal tunnel (I already got it because of Hypixel Bridge) - Kariky
Very polished server that just needs to figure out its mainline and endgame content. And maybe tone down the RNG a bit. Faceguy has plans for both of those!
This video is crazy good! Deserves wayyy more views and attention then it has! Personally I love Skyblock but I've been playing it since day one so I might be a little biased :). This might be the push I needed to play Wynncraft lol. Hadn't really heard much about Monumenta before this so thanks for pointing it out!
This video has far exceeded expectations but I wouldn't mind more views ;D Monumenta doesn't have much media coverage so it has gone (relatively) unnoticed for a while now
@@loonitick Yeah, I hope the rest of your content does just as well :) I wish this one server was still up, it was a simple minehut server made by 1 guy and it was awesome. It was called MageRPG if I remember correctly.
as someone with 2200 hours in skyblock, do NOT play it. it is a horrible game that you cannot stop playing. im gonna keep playing cus I cant stop. do not let this happen to you fr
I would’ve quit a lot sooner if I didn’t get hooked into buying MVP+ purely to stop getting treated like a lower caste whenever I had to do anything with other players.
that text popping onto screen is too clean man, i wish I could sub 100 times over - I really wish Minecraft had a system of finding games like Roblox where there's a "Popular" or maybe an "RPG" slab. Right now it's almost 100% word of mouth
On the topic of "word of mouth", somehow the media scene relating to MC MMORPGs outside of Hypixel SkyBlock is very quiet. Not much attention comes our way unless someone who's already popular decides to bring the attention, which ends up being pretty nice for smaller channels like myself lol. I'm attempting to make videos quality enough to force more crossover between Hypixel SkyBlock and these comparably small servers, as that would maybe successfully get some of the big shots (50k+ subs) to try them out (making quality videos that perform well might convince them it's worth the effort). It's hard competing against number 1, so... if you can't beat em. Join em. And I'll take advantage of my years worth of experience to accomplish something no one else has tried haha
it hurts my soul so much dungeon realms use to be a really good mmo rpg server back in the day but from the lack of care and devs it died out it use to be the biggest competition for wynncraft on launch and i miss those days
Dope video! Ever since I finished middleschool I've barely ever returned to Minecraft only playing a few hours each year and you've helped reignite that passion I had back in the early 2010's :) The editing is fun and the script is also quite good. After watching I'll be sure to check all the servers featured and return to those I've invested countless hours into in the past ! :D
hey man just wanna let you know, because of this video i joined monumenta and its so fun, been a year and still is my favourite minecraft server of all time, thanks for recommending
I clicked on this video because I thought it said "Minecraft RPG Servers are not worth your time" Instead I found it to be a very well made video giving options and explaining minecraft rpg servers!! Good video!
Fun little tid bit to throw in, Dungeon Realms was the genuine pioneer of the genre. They have been up and online since 2011 well before skyblock and wynncraft. Dungeon Realms used to have multiple thousands of active players and so many looking to play it they had to have a 5$ whitelist for over a year until going F2P and then the RPG boom happened and it slowly died down to very few players. (Back in 2011 Mojang didnt take action against paid whitelisted servers)
interesting! it's also cool to know they're still around as well, and each time the server wipes they get a few hundred players to speedrun through it. i recently played after a wipe and it was a pretty neat experience, though the main takeaway is they have a pretty cool Guild feature. our entire guild ended up quitting before we could reach endgame unfortunately.
COME BACK TO US KARAPANDZA!! you infiltrated the future! the video isn't posted yet in your timeline!!! COME BA-- WAI-, IT'S TOO LATE, NOOOO-o-OO---o-------------.----
Played Wynncraft for a good bit before I stopped, and can say for sure it was insane how good it was. Some minor bugs and confusion aside, the lore even struck me deep for sure.
@@loonitick Also the fact that to make the game feel populated despite the world limit, you can still see players in other worlds, which allows specific cities to feel insanely full and busting with life, instead of just a bunch of NPCs and you.
@@loonitick The music block system for soundtrack is also nice... Except when it lags and causes the music to pause only to suddenly play every key in the noteblock at the same time. ^^;

I have personally been enjoying MineScape, a minecraft server rebuilding the world of Runescape's Gielinor and translating the skills and quests to minecraft.
A friend of mine was attempting to create a MMO-RPG in Minecraft, I even did some voice acting for it and he got a decent amount of support. sadly though some of the dev's gave up and nothing become of it
unfortunate. that is sadly the story of a lot of MMORPG projects. typically they should be approached as passion projects without a timeline due to the everchanging nature of game design intention and quality standard

I have a ton of faith in their team
Thanks for all the new monumenta players literally today I think the whole chat said welcome more than any other message combined
Ahahhahhaahahaa
Its nice to see Monumenta show up. I played it a lot during pandemic times and ngl I did have a pretty bad rep (mostly due to me being hella immature) but I did really enjoy my time. Starting a guild with the few friends I made on the server was amazing but I really stopped playing soon after they did after I realized I really didn't enjoy grinding a lot and enjoyed constant action much more. I really want to restart and give it another playthrough but I have a lack of friends that want to play with me lol.
Technoblade never dies.
Technoblade never dies
technoblade never dies
He did though
hoooo damn i've been looking for new minecraft experiences beyond wynncraft, and these look like real solid recommendations. the CTM one has me especially interested, thanks for this
glad i could convince you to maybe check out these servers :D
Are you gong to stream and make videos about Project Spellforged?
You fuckin bet I am
Yall remember that "skyblock isles" or whatever it was called that blew up for like 2 days before dying instantly because it didnt have anything new that wasnt done before?
They're making a 2.0 and it's really good looking
that Monumenta server looks cool I might check it out
you have been punished for your bias. return to go, dont collect your 100$, and watch the whole video again
@@loonitick literally sobbing rn
i would NEVER play monumenta it looks too good and fun
Looni never fails to make my day worse (better)
glad i could make it worse
Thanks for adding a bunch of caption language options :)
fucking underrated video holy sh*t this dude needs more subs
I agree. like and subscribe and make sure to watch the whole video on 0.25 speed on loop thank you
@@loonitick alr dude ill have it muted tho 😉
@@kinglet6260 mute the browser instead of youtube otherwise it'll automatically pause your video >:D
@@loonitick can safely report it has looped twice :O
As a mid game skyblock player, I would recommend trying it at least once. There is a 2 types of players, those who can play it and those who cannot. If you like it - it would be a multi thousand experience, but if you don’t - just don’t do it. I’ve seen lots of comments like “skyblock is only grind”, but I can tell you, at least the first 100 hours you just exploring and doing fun things. After that to progress you would need gear, so you will have to either grind for it or do something else. And also, skyblock is 1000 times better with friends.
I feel like that the thing I'll enjoy most early on is the fairy hunt since it takes you all over the map lol
A bit of exploration innit
I agree though. Definitely depends on the player. I compare it to prison servers because that's the niche most appropriate for HSB. Some people probably just play it because it's the #1 thing to play in Java and that kinda sucks
The owner of faceland spit on me and called me mean names
hate that guy
wow
I loved that Final Paradox frame as u talked about CTMs since it is one of the most ambitious and well-developed projects by the Hispanic community. Thanks.
it's pretty recent in the English scene, and i've been playing it. very impressive ctm! so glad they put in the time to translate it for us :D
Wynncraft allows me to use 6 cps macros while Hypixel will force me to get carpal tunnel (I already got it because of Hypixel Bridge)
- Kariky
He was forced to manually grind without macros
@@loonitick fr. I had to break my mouse by clicking 13 times a second to achieve peak hypixel player
@@notnick5535The term is now able to shoot quickly by holding down left click
Facelands is super promising. No kidding. The UI, the combat, it's so good. Can't wait for it to get out of beta.
Very polished server that just needs to figure out its mainline and endgame content. And maybe tone down the RNG a bit. Faceguy has plans for both of those!
That Novalescent guy has my vote for Governor of Virgina 🐟
Dare I say, king
This video is crazy good! Deserves wayyy more views and attention then it has! Personally I love Skyblock but I've been playing it since day one so I might be a little biased :). This might be the push I needed to play Wynncraft lol. Hadn't really heard much about Monumenta before this so thanks for pointing it out!
This video has far exceeded expectations but I wouldn't mind more views ;D
Monumenta doesn't have much media coverage so it has gone (relatively) unnoticed for a while now
@@loonitick Yeah, I hope the rest of your content does just as well :)
I wish this one server was still up, it was a simple minehut server made by 1 guy and it was awesome. It was called MageRPG if I remember correctly.
as someone with 2200 hours in skyblock, do NOT play it. it is a horrible game that you cannot stop playing. im gonna keep playing cus I cant stop. do not let this happen to you fr
you had in me in the first half
I would’ve quit a lot sooner if I didn’t get hooked into buying MVP+ purely to stop getting treated like a lower caste whenever I had to do anything with other players.
I'm definitely going to have to give Faceland a try.
...and Spellforged when that comes out.
Just when I thought we would be boring in wynncraft and in minecraft in general , you gave me back the spark! thanks looni :)
:D
great vid!! also now considering trying those servers. also great editing
thank you :D feel free to come back and tell me which ones you tried/which ones your favorite
that text popping onto screen is too clean man, i wish I could sub 100 times over - I really wish Minecraft had a system of finding games like Roblox where there's a "Popular" or maybe an "RPG" slab.
@@loonitick And I will support u thru that journey! Keep making amazing vids man :D
you cant hit me with that Wynncraft sound track like that, i used to listen to that at school on youtube. good times.. (:
Adventure is such a good song
it hurts my soul so much dungeon realms use to be a really good mmo rpg server back in the day but from the lack of care and devs it died out it use to be the biggest competition for wynncraft on launch and i miss those days
seems like i definitely missed out when that was happening
It's cool that you talk about different servers, not just the most popular one.
in fact, it is because i talked about the most popular servers that i could bring attention to the smaller ones. very logical big brain yes yes
Thank you! and welcome back lol
Bro...using Maple Story music just took me all the way back to 2006. The nostalgia rush is rushing.
Dwarves vs Zombies server went crazy too, one of the best Minecraft mini-games out there.
hey man just wanna let you know, because of this video i joined monumenta and its so fun, been a year and still is my favourite minecraft server of all time, thanks for recommending
the best video i ever watch, incredible, good job :)
thank you!!
I did not expect Niru from Maplestory to be shown in a Minecraft video, but I guess this is the one spot where it’d ever overlap.
I clicked on this video because I thought it said "Minecraft RPG Servers are not worth your time" Instead I found it to be a very well made video giving options and explaining minecraft rpg servers!! Good video!
Thanks but also that's concerning. I've been thinking about making a better thumbnail maybe
Oh no sorry! I didnt mean to concern you, Im just kinda stupid so I read things wrong, and the thumbnail is fine imo@@loonitick
holy shit the production quality on this video is amazing
LETSGOOOO PLUP CLUB!
also great video. i did convulse at the mention of maplestory tho
the maplestory recoil
I can't believe the day has come. Looni has uploaded I am must be living in an alternate universe
Some minor bugs and confusion aside, the lore even struck me deep for sure.
it's got a bit of a cool world with all sorts of things going on! pretty neat
@@loonitick Also the fact that to make the game feel populated despite the world limit, you can still see players in other worlds, which allows specific cities to feel insanely full and busting with life, instead of just a bunch of NPCs and you.
@@JayHog1992 thats one of the many wonders of their plugin design. i absolutely love that visual feature
@@loonitick The music block system for soundtrack is also nice... Except when it lags and causes the music to pause only to suddenly play every key in the noteblock at the same time. ^^;
I had Ultima Online map, had just brittian and trinsic was a 3month build but we used to PvP and reset the server daily so it could get messed and wiped but characters never got wiped. Logout were 10seconds like UO, had taming even.
I really should give monumenta a good try, that server sound fun
Very well made video here. Funny thing is I am playing hypixel skyblock right now lol. I also intend on picking up wynncraft again sometime soon!
Great video! Definitely going to be trying out some of these servers!
Ayyy glad you liked what you saw
I just realized your looniitick, you might remember me from smash heroes, I'm glad to see your channel is doing well with your channel :D
hi kip ;D
Amazing video as always, also this video made it into top 10 Wynncraft related video in terms of views,so nice work!
Keep it up,hope more people knows about Wynncraft.
i mostly did this so i can abuse both of their popularity to advertise monumenta and spellforged lol
I absolutely love that you included soup pvp in the opening sequence. I can never forget the awesome times…
soup pvp was so awesome
and then kit pvp came in to expand upon the idea with soup as its base. pvp games have only gotten better over time! (unless you're a 1.7 fan)
im glad soup pvp is still a thing nowadays, it just isn't very popular
@@loonitick I’m completely and utterly a classic 1.7 kitpvp stan, you should try out pvpdojo, if you have the time! The server has been around for a long time and is a staple of european pvp, the kits and abilities will remind you of spells from wynncraft lol
How have I never heard of Spellforged before this video?! The unique and fun combat from Wynncraft combined with an interesting and explorable world like BotW/TotK. It is all I ever need!
genshin impact minecraft mmorpg for real ong
Nice elegant nicely made video you have there, I rarely comment anywhere but you earned it!
thanks tails
@@loonitick My pleasure boss.
Wynncraft about to get even more fricken insane within a few months
Ventureland is a great first MC RPG to play. It feels like a second home now after so long playing it. Hopefully we can get the playercount up. To witness the amazing stuff a solo developer has acomplished
It's solo developed? That's pretty neat
The melty blood music always jumpscares me because so little people know of it. Im gonna try wynncraft. Love magic servers. I used to play in a runescape style server that had some cool magic mechanics
I remember playing Megido years ago, it’s really something you never thought could be possible in MC! Damn I gotta play it again soon lol
they've added a bunch of stuff and if you're tryna witness new content, they have paid DLC stuff
all these servers look so cool! i definitely gotta check em' out when i get the time. also MCInfected? haven't heard that name in years. my brother used to be a builder on there so it's super cool to know that you've played it as well!
Ayyy MCinfected was dope! Awesome to see someone who knows about it. Definitely a viewer minority
Seeing Monumenta in the thumbnail filled me with joy.
i was happy to include it there
Thank you for sharing ive been looking for games like these
glad i could help!
this video is phenomenal and i cant believe it has taken me 5 months after the upload date to discover
thanks for watching :D
the maplestory music 🥰
i had a stupid grin on my face when i realized i could use the Henesys theme for that part lol
I have personally been enjoying MineScape, a minecraft server rebuilding the world of Runescape's Gielinor and translating the skills and quests to minecraft.
yooo the mcinfected was such an amazing callback, i used to play that game religiously, met my best friend there and im sad i cant play it anymore :')
it was peak server design back when servers were very simple. great stuff
Omg, thx so much, i had endless searching for some mmorpg servers like wynncraft, this video helped a lot!
i gotchu
Can confirm, Wynn is really rewarding to commit to, especially the quest storylines
really solid video, definitely convinced me to try out all these servers you mentioned!
all of them?! damn. im good!
