I have never seen any problems with the tentacle. It has a very fun gimmick that is very satisfying. This doesn't mean it's a weapon I would make an entire build for, but it is suitable as a support weapon (kind of like the Marksman Bow, Giantkiller, and Blood Sword).

Never before have I seen opinions change so quickly, so drastically, and so often. This truly was a tentacoaster.
Certainly feels like a (C)ituational item. The crit multiplier is high for those chunks but it certainly struggles against certain enemies which is a thought to consider for where you're going in a run.
The wiki also states that Tentacle "gives immunity to certain damage sources while grappling." Idk if this is just lax wording or if it really is "certain" sources, meaning the i-frames may not work all the time. From the wiki as well, the first hit is indeed ranged, so mutations that benefit ranged attacks will affect it. Maybe Rangers Gear with Wave of Denial? That sounds like a combo.

Even the Misericorde and Anathema Have their Uses
The Tentacle being able to Grapple Both walls and Enemies is quite nice
especially for Ranged ones

the tentacle (definitely not electrodynamix) absolutely carried the whole run, what a banger of a weapon
For me its support weapon use it with flint it's very good btw im glad to see there's more stuff to do in dead cells
He was actually trying to make a point for tentacle in the beggining, but after seeing it was a lost cause he gave in to the irony

Bro, most of the time, attacks with Flint can't be interrupted, so Vee has a point

At about 25:40 the tentacle works on the mob just fine. But not on the boss that's is actually so wild
