He is the current president and chief executive officer of MasterCard. He was appointed by Obama to serve as a Member of the President's Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honor of the Padma Shri in 2016.

Think Global act local. I worked for a retailer that let every store manager run their store with the investment where the manager see fit. Needs were different from state to state and county to county. This worked as it allowed us to specialize our inventory and service to accommodate to the culture, buying experience, compete, and customize to your base expectations.

He did , he helped india in UPI payment system (as mastercard head) but indian govt kicked him after they get it running. He changed his mind about india and left for America permanently as said in an interview.
