    • @tedmccarthy4761
      @tedmccarthy4761 2 года назад +1

      The cost of attending Eton means that nearly every student who goes there is the child of a multi-millionaire. They are segregated from ordinary Britons and have a peer-group that is nearly entirely composed of heirs to large fortunes. People naturally look out for the interests of their families and friends ahead of the interests of often hostile strangers (who are so uncivilized that they don't even know which fork to use for the fish course at a dinner). Poorer students who attend on scholarships are deliberately trained to identify with the ruling class.

      Although he is still a street entertainer who maintains rain or shine support the further away you travel from London or the other major cities in the UK. Apart from the damage that he has caused whether from brexit or his tardiness in dealing with the pandemic we now must face up to energy shortages and price rises in food and other goods thus having a different PM is essential for the national interest. There are also international problems in the Ukraine,China,and still the Middle East so a new leader is required who commands respect in the international community.The advantage of being able to choose between Starmer and whoever succeeds Johnson is that it will be a conscious decision for the British electorate to accept grown up politics again rather than Trump style populism and focus upon hard decisions not retreat into an infantile way of seeing only personal indulgence as the response to life's problems.We need serious people to deal with serious challenges not the classroom anti hero who enthrall timid classmates with dare do rebellion.

Now, it’s like a pantomime, but it’s not entertaining, there’s no decency, no honour, no dignity and worst of all there’s no respect. I speak specifically of Boris and the Government, because quite frankly, whilst I do not agree with Conservatives as a whole, I have never, ever been so repulsed by any government. I’ve asked my elders, I’ve asked peers, I’ve asked my juniors and if there’s one thing all have said consistently, it’s that British politics has never ever been this bad.
    There’s an old saying “never ascribe malice to that which could be explained by incompetence!” Well, it’s pretty clear, it was as clear as day from the very first notification we had about Covid the government have acted in malice showing little more than utter contempt for those who put them there. Absolutely spot on. Frankly I would rather have Thatcher back than this bunch of sh*tweasels. At least she was semi competent.

    Shouldn't the police and special branch who swore oaths be brought to task as well they obviously knew what was going on but done nothing to stop or prevent it even though it was not permitted at that time

    2:30 - "...If it could be said technically to fall within the guidance" is the language of a man who is not prepared to accept responsibility for his failure in this matter, let alone the 150,000 dead people from his governments failure to act sooner. 18 months ago, we were told "its not the time to cast blame at people". Its damn well past time now - when are these politicans going to be held to account for their actions?

      Tbf mate, this whole farce is just a shit show drummed up by the media. Don't you remember hearing about bubbles and shit? These.. "people" were self designated "essential workers" having a break. I don't really give a fuck. The whole bleeding heart crap is just rhetorical point scoring. A goddamn pantomime when there aught to be more important matters to address, not that anyone there is likely to be the right sort to be conducting serious business anyway. I spose every scandal related delay reduces the amount of legislation they can smear crayons and shit onto.
      The opposition is just as releived they don't have to think too hard about what to ask as the government are for the stalling and covering for the difficult process of taking this country for all its worth as it circles the drain. While we all debate the value of moral fortutudes in the background.

      @@JeffBarberDigideus I'm sypathetic to your suffering. My whole life got turned upside-down in this shit storm.
      With the greatest respect and sympathies - I personally feel that living in the past and holding onto resentment isn't a viable place from which to develop future defining policy, especially with this country in free fall. We're focusing entirely on problems without a solution in sight.
      As corrupt as they are, I feel more and more everyday that without following through on their deplorable "free market" libertarian bullshit, we'll be even worse off delaying the inevitable. I honestly feel that an USA style corporatocracy is the best we can hope for at this point (and, IMHO, the "worse" the "better", the sooner we can EU-turn back where the legislation actually protects us from corperate overreach and oversight)
      Do you honestly feel that changing tack and creating a power vacuum in the tory party will help bring stability to this country? If I may be so bold; I really don't think it'll help with your woes.

    What a sickening and embarrassing spectacle. To be able to give a heartfelt apology you actually have to have a heart. I’ve heard 6 year olds sound more believable when they’ve been caught lying.

    Johnsons face as he sat down after Starmer's six questions told the full story. He is not sorry for his lies and deceit, he is just angry he has been caught and forced to apologize to the mere plebs.
    He is, as Eddie Mair put it so well, simply a nasty piece of work.
