- Goku tells Yamcha his tail was removed to restore the moon in Dragon Ball Ep 133, then in Dragon Ball Kai Ep 14, Goku has a flashback about looking at the moon and his tail.

That tail lives on as a reminder of the early years when DB started out as a goofy fantasy-comedy.
Yeah goku was actually kind of like saitama but if saitama got stronger after every arc also the fact that basically no attack even hurt or phased him at all was funny and in the early days they even broke the 4th wall a couple of times at some points
I mean, Dragon Ball still is a goofy comedy outside of fights.

Yeah, but it was also an adventure, kind of the draw for One Piece too. Exploring this fantasy world, running into strange characters, and when you'd get a fight every once in a while it was hype, kind of why I don't like Z anymore or didn't like Super, just gets more and more about just the fighting, with new forms rarely earned (talking MOSTLY Super, Z earned its SS1, Gohan going 2, and Gohan potential Uneashed... not 3 though, SS3 was not earned) earned and no stakes. Inspired by Journey to the West, making friends along the way, goofing around, and exploring uncharted dangerous territories in this unknown world.
I miss the tail. It was so special for Goku in the original series and made the Saiyans look more alien.
I agree with you, but Toriyama found it difficult to animate along with long hair. A big reason why SSJ3 was not prominent either. Raditz had long hair and a tail, so double the difficulty for his character.

Both ssj3 and the tails are featured in the only dbz fanfiction I love, Primal.
Gohan regrows his tail 7 years after killing Cell, and Vegeta learns how to access ssj3.
Interestingly, some of Toriyama's early concept art of SSJ3 shows the tail would have grown back for it. @@alanguages
Still Toriyama got rid of the tail and SSJ3 scenes are constantly brief, due to the long hair. I think there could have been more stories to tell with the tail.@@rjd-kh8et

They literally took instances like Goku's fight with Vegeta "wow he's strong, and yet I'm getting excited" and made it his entire character. Just because Goku is a Saiyan doesn't mean he can't act like his DB and early DBZ self.
Toriyama nerfed Goku for a reason, He became a flawless protaginist
@@PaxtubeLetsPlays that's bs, what was so flawless about his character? A fighter becomes more self aware the longer he fights, that was DBZ goku. But unfortunately DBS goku acts like he was when he was a child.
@@mike2207 it wasn't self awareness, It was the fact that he basically was this kind of protaginist that was had a personality of saving people unlike DBS goku who basically wants to fight so much that he became a threat to a few characters, Toppo stated alot how he was evil

No it's permanent, his tail was a small bulge after the operation. The Kais just had to speed up his regeneration
At the end of DragonBall (i.e. before DBZ), Goku met the ghost of Grandpa Gohan again, and there's one scene I would have loved (and in fact I like to tell myself it happened and it just never got animated). I would have liked Gohan to make Goku promise that, if he ever finds the monster who smooshed him, Goku will forgive them, because it was an accident and even Gohan doesn't hold it against him.

If he had the tail he wud be ssj4 or some upgrade to it. Because with the full moon he will turn into an oozaru and when he controls it fully he goes into ssj4. I dont think powering up can make him resist fransforming into an oozaru as it's purely saiyan gentics that causes that

Well we all know that any , all, and every saiyan are only at half capacity without their tails. So it goes to say he would be a full powered saiyan in any form he took from that point.

Since the beginning of Dragon Ball. Goku was getting the shit kicked out of him by Giran, but the second he grew his tail back his strength doubled and Giran conceded almost immediately.
Just one of those things that never gets brought up again. Like tails growing back. Vegeta says his will grow back eventually. Never does.
@@deplorabledegenerate2630 To add to this discussion, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot game states that a Saiyan tail never grows back if he already exceeds the power of a Great Ape in its regular form, as it would make the transformation useless (and a power downgrade). Not sure how much this is retcon or shit lore, but I like it.

They could, but after finding out that his tail is what caused him to transform, I don't think he would want it back (even if he loved his tail as a kid).
@@mkt568 It seems that adolescent Saiyans can regrow their tails, but adult saiyans cannot. I guess after about age 16 it becomes impossible for a Saiyan to regrow their tail.
Wonder why Goku hasn't seen grandpa gohan in otherworld
he returns and says goodbyes at one of the tournaments in DB. i believe grandpa Gohan isn't powerful enough to maintain a human form in heaven he is most likely a body-less soul

Why didn't Goku figure this out when he met Raditz? He heard Raditz say "Without your tail, you've lost your ability to transform into a giant ape monster on a full moon." Also, why did Bulma, Krillin, and Master Roshi remain silent even after Raditz said that? They could've admitted to Goku that they've seen him transform into a giant ape monster when he was a kid.

One thing i hate Is that the supreme removed Goku's tail sayng that he "didin't had to worry because he would have fixed that trouble." TROUBLE. Goku never asked him to remove his tail. So if you really have to cut off his tail do It in silence.

Gohan was born with a tail.
Chi-Chi had Goten’s tail cut off to prevent him from becoming a Great Ape like Gohan ended up doing as a kid.

Unlike Goku, his tail grews back multiple times after got cut off.

Gohan was born with a tail, but Goten (and trunks too) was born without a tail. Gohan's tail was broken off by Piccolo and then later and then later during the fight against Vegeta. After Gohan's tail was cut off during the fight with vegeta, it never grew back after that.

Sadly no, Grandpa Gohan actually lives with a goddess under the ox kings castle to keep watch of the temperature of a pot I believe so that way the mountain won't catch fire
