I love that my staff door suggestion turned into a small teachable moment.
It's things like this that make FewU the best place for life long learning.
It was a wonderful suggestion!! Thank you!
Yes more PZ!!
I've only just started but on the same theme, the 4 from Madagascar (Skipper, Rico, Kowalski and Private) as well as Pingu for the penglings!! 🐧🐧
Yes!! Love it, thank you!
Yes that's cute names.
No joker Batman we have the Penguin under wraps...Very good Few, your Zoo is coming along swimmingly.
Awesome use of the timbers for the viewing platform. It's such a beautiful area.
It's not hard to imagine the Zoo hosting an after hours fundraising gala.
Part of this event includes access to this viewing area that is filled with elegant tables and chairs and a makeshift catering serving area. The event guests enjoy their cocktails and the views as they empty out their wallets to support the conservation efforts of the Zoo.
Thank you Edward! And yes love that, I'd definitely dine there 😄
Another fantastic episode! I’m really enjoying your voiceover while the time lapse is running too. I’ve started watching quite a few other planet zoo builders and honestly this is the best underwater habitat I’ve seen by far! I like how you use the terrain to set out the area first, rather than just relying on rocks - it looks so much better that way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t wait for the next episode ❤ Also, I hope your house move went well!
Thanks Bree! And yes move went well and all settled and homey now, thank you :)
You are seriously good at this FewCandy, I'm really enjoying this series.
Hello and Welcome back. I hope your time away was fruitful and all went as planned and safe. This build is so cute. I luv the commentary over the time lapse. It works perfectly with the overall flow of the build. Great job again FC your so creative and an inspiration. :) :) see you on the next one. Can't wait.
♥ 🐧🐧
Ahh thank you! And yes move went smooth and I'm glad to be back!
@@fewcandy Good to have you back!!!
Well, I just can't say this enough ... you are SO FREAKIN' TALENTED!! If you saw on the Discord screenshot, I had started an underwater habitat but just got so frustrated with it, mainly because I didn't know what I was doing, until now lol This is truly an amazing build. BTW, I don't know if you've had any issues with the Lemurs escaping through solid walls or not. If not I guess that means I just have some very talented and stubborn Lemurs lol
Entirely agree on the talent comment. I have had the same problem with these creative escape artists. sometimes it's having enrichment items close to the barriers or walls. They seem to be able to follow them through. Another way they get out is if you use climbable items as wall decorations. the little buggers can apparently squeeze through the smallest crack then.
Yes my lemurs are escaping through solid walls too!! I've had that issue before and as DK says its usually due to the fact climbable items are too close to the walls. I will be doing some adjusting on a future episode to mention it!
Now that’s one heck of a detailing timelapse! Great to see another episode
Love the voice over during the time-lapse. Your habitats are so detailed and beautiful.
Thank you for another great episode. So glad to see it pop up this morning. You helped immensely with the ramp explanation. I never could get it to work right. Love this habitat and can't wait to see how you integrate it with other water habitats. BTW, I've found that you don't have to have a keeper path to the underwater area. They fill the feeders from the land area above. Don't ask me how they are able to do that but they do. I think they just dump the fish in the water or something.
So name suggestions again, You must have a Larry the Prairie to mate with Mary. And Penny the penguin, has a nice ring.
Yes love the name suggestions!! Thank you! And yes it is magic how they fill up the feeders lol! This path was more intended for future purposes for the caretakers and mechanics to get around through a secret back path! Glad you are enjoying the series!
Thank you for another great Planet Zoo habitat build 😻Really enjoying this series and learning so much! Lovely to see you back and hope everything went smoothly.
Yes all went smoothly and good to be back! Thanks Jude!
Found your channel by sheer chance and now I'm five exhibits deep in a new franchise zoo. How dare you do this to me
😂 Please accept my apologies!!
Beautiful habitat. Great to see the series back. Love your detailing.
love love the underwater cave viewing and well just everything about the penguin exhibit
Amazing! love this!
Brilliant!
Yay, planet zoo and penguins too. Nice to see a new episode of this 😊
Yay, zoooo. Great build again ❤
Love the Penguin habitat. Gives me some inspiration to do my own now. I like the voiceover with the speed builds too. Looking forward to more episodes. 😊👍
Thank you Alicen! 😊
Yaaayyaayyyy lol thank you!
I have found your videos to be super informative! I've been playing for a while and still learning tip and tricks from your videos. Thank you for that and the inspiration, as I'm not a great builder :)
Ahh thank you! So nice to hear it’s useful even for those who’ve been playing for a while!
Oh yay!
I honestly today have had a totally rubbish day. I pop on RUclips just before going to bed early, saw fewcandy and honestly my day brightened up.
Watched this video and all is well with the world now.
Sad thing is that I don't even have planet zoo, but love watching fewcandy make a zoo. 😂
Ahh sorry to hear that Craig, but glad a bit of zoo building could lift your spirits! Hope your days brighten up from here on out!
You do such great work.. your zoo is beautiful.
I told her about this today and she was happy to be a lemur lol thank you again!
Ahh thats great to hear! ♥
Another great video as always FewC! You’re such a talented builder :)
Aww thank you Jack! ♥
I wasn't expecting so much death in the first few minutes. But, nice build, I'm sure the penguins will love it.
There was quite a lot of death this episode! 😂😬😭
So sad to hear about Marie and Ilos (although I did laugh out loud when you said Ilos was almost dead - no offense Egg)! Another great habitat build! 😻
I'm finally able to watch a zoo video on release day! And what kismet, since I'm diving in to build an otter habitat in my sandbox zoo! I tend to overcomplicate making the underwater viewing areas, so thanks for showing me a much simpler method, it looks way easier to build than what I've been doing, with essentially the same effect. Also, I agree that adding the additional color to the stone really made everything come together. I tend to also mix in some of the mossy and dynamic moss rocks with heavy water habitats to mimic moss and algae, especially if I'm not in temperate and can't use the moss plants. It can help in habitats (like the sea lions) that don't like a lot of plants that leave you with a super brown space. Anyway, fantastic build as always! I'm so happy this series manifested after I asked if you played, because I really enjoy watching you put these together. 💜
Honestly I'm usually so concerned with my piece count that I've never just dove into detailing, so it's been fun to take a step back to see what I can put together.
Thank you Liscosity! Glad you enjoyed it, and absolutely great tip with the mossy rocks, completely slipped my mind when building this but would add a really nice layer to the underwater area for sure!
Awesome !
...I'm sure I saw Happy Feet somewhere in there...
Ooo yes!! Definitely a Happy Feet in there :)
Your talent never fails to amaze FC!! This habitat is incredible! Can we please call one of the penguins Pingu? Seconding the Madagascar names too :)
Thanks Heather! And absolutely got to get a Pingu in there!! Childhood favourite TV show for me :)
@@fewcandy Same! Loved Pingu.
Other names - Pinga after pingu's sister and Penguina just cos lol
Just bought the game, thank you for a wonderfull tutorial! I have no hope to do the designing that you do, I'm not at all creative. But all the rest is helping me ;)
Thank you! It took me 100s of hours to get to grips with this game so do not fear! If you get to ep 14 (the live stream) at the end I toured my first zoo... it's awful!! Have faith, take it slow and your creativity will come!
Beautiful build! You have inspired me to take a crack at this game.
Also, I appreciate the use of Zoboomafoo as a name even when the reference is unknown, haha. It is the name of a children's nature show and the lemur host for it from back around 2000 in the U.S. (PS- you did pronounce it correctly 😆).
Ooo i didn;t know that!! Good to know the reference, and glad you're having a crack at it! It's great fun once you get the hang!
Little late but thank you for the great ideas and tips.
Ahh thank you for the comment, glad you found it useful! 😄
im late to the party but i'm so glad one of the lemurs got named Zoboomafoo
😆❤
One little thing fewcandy, I don't have the game and have loved seeing the zoopedia about the animals and their requirements, I pause and read what I can, please can you possibly just show it briefly when you add a new animal. 🙏
Absolutely can! Will try and make sure to do that from now on!
I love this game and love watching these videos but I’m so horrible at the game haha I don’t have enough time to learn all of this 😢
Your tutorials are great! I'm a complete beginner in any kind of 'build' game so sometimes I struggle to replicate what you have done but I'm learning loads and getting better thanks to you! How do I find you on patreon?
Ahh wow thank you! I'm so glad you are finding them useful! I do cover some elements quite quick so if you ever have any questions do ask in comments, I do my best to answer as many as possible! My patreon is: www.patreon.com/fewcandy Any tiny support is immensely appreciated! ❤ Thank you!
@fewcandy I went into your patreon account to join, and I will. But most of it is City Skylines. I do have that game but I'm still learning 'build' games and liked the idea of building an animal kingdom... Thanks again for your great teaching and your commentary is quite engaging too. Nice to listen to! By the way, FewCandy, I've named my zoo after you. It's your design so I must give credit where it is due.😀
@@laurahughes6138 Ahhh that's so sweet! Thank you!! And yes you are right, patreon has been geared towards Cities content as that was the game I started with originally. Would love to hear what you might suggest as patreon perks for planet zoo fans though, I really struggle knowing what are things people would like to receive and so hard to know if people don't ask for it! I was contemplating planet zoo habitat blueprints for patreons, as an example? (This is not to encourage you to sign up btw, I'd just be really grateful of the feedback to know how to improve things and you are the first zoo watcher who has expressed an interest in it!)
I’ve only had the game several days and my skills are crap at the moment, my enclosures are tightly packed rectangles with no rocks or plants so I’m watching videos to get more skilled as it’s just not set up well as some parts of the 8m paths get so congested the staff can’t get through easily. But when you showed your zoo plan drawing I had a look to see if you had any canids (my favourite animals in real life and I have a “Canidae Conservation” zoo in-game and to keep it interesting there will be a few other species).
But I can’t tell you how long I was sat here thinking “what is a Sam Erica Dome?” 🙈 eventually it clicked
Haha! yes sorry I wrote that with a free pen and my mouse in paint so it's very difficult to read! 😅 We likely will divert from this original plan a little as time goes on so every chance we can add other animals and very happy to take requests! ☺
@@fewcandy it’s a nicely planned zoo though, you’ve done really well. And it’s nice to see someone explain how things are done and which settings to select for what you are trying to do rather than watch “enclosure ideas” and they just do it without explaining so thank you for that!
I would love to see some Maned Wolves in there, we have some at the zoo near me and I’ve only ever seen them once as the keeper went in with a bucket of dead rats to feed them, it was amazing to watch them catch the rats mid air.
I have some in-game and I’m not sure if it’s just my game or if they are buggy in general (they’ve been in two different enclosures as I redid the layout and both had the issue present). I keep checking them and they are always stood very close to each other sort of going in small circles hungry or thirsty despite having food and the piped water bowl. The only way I can fix it is to box one of them and instantly the other runs off for food or water and when I unbox the boxed one it does the same thing. Mine have 2 pups at the moment and sometimes all 4 are stuck in the same area so I have to box one repeatedly.
But generally I enjoy any canid. African Wild Dogs were my starter animals and I felt genuine sadness when my alpha female died 🙈 I didn’t even have her for 24 real life hours before she died. I don’t know if you know this but when making the memorial, if you click the drop down menu where it says “memorial screen” or whatever it is if you click one of the other two options it does have the name of the deceased animal on. I don’t know why the screen version doesn’t.
@@HeCantSeeWithoutHisGlasses didn’t know that on the memorial screens, thank you, will try that out! And I’m not sure about the maned wolves bug, it’s not one I’ve heard of unfortunately and I don’t think I’ve actually ever placed them so we can definitely find a home for them in this zoo!
We need a Mc Swimface! He or She was transferred from a Scottish zoo :))))
Yes! Love that, thank you for the suggestion!
Great video series, I love it. I am trying to find those corrugated walls and roofs you use in the penguin shelter build. I have the Australia pack but I can not seem to find the walls and roofs. There are 3 shelter blueprints that came with the pack, but no "building parts". Are those walls and roof parts in the Australia pack or in a different pack?
Found the solution, forgot to mechanic research the new dlc's. My bad.
How many hours of game play has this taken you so far to get through the lemur habitat?
Just wondering, does the water have to be that murky? I have seen other zoo ideas where the water was really clear. Is that an option?
Yes! If you click on the body of water you get an options menu in the top right, you can choose the transparency from there!
Do you put your builds onto the steamworkshop?
I have uploaded the lemur house habitat, but not any others. I will look at doing more if there is demand for it, was there a specific habitat you were after? Here's the lemur house! steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920410250
I'm still going through the series lol but I was wondering if you would consider the Concession/food&drink building?
@@cloudifrieze830 Done! steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3098082407
before an animal is about to kick the bucket, is it possible to release it to the wild?
I don't believe you can release them to the wild when they are Elders no, so best to get it in when they are still adults!
Hi community i need your help with my zoo 😢 i have been trying in SandBox mode with money. I have place some animals, path, services etc but i dont understand why visitor are not giving donations in my donation bins ?!? There is educational screen and speakers, bench etc but it's empty so i am not making any money and juste get bankrupt everytime 😢 any advice ? Settings ? Change ? Better lookig zoo ?
I see on your video that you make a lot of money without a lot of animal 😅 i feel helpless
Oh yes they definitely bring in most of the income for me! Have you moved your donation boxes around to different locations to see if that works? Guests won't donate to boxes which are too far away from animal viewing points, so you want to make sure they are positioned right where they stop to look at the animals, on or immediately next to the path. I'm trying to think if there is a setting which you can disable donations... but I don't think there is from memory. Hoping the location may be the issue from what you describe, otherwise I am at a loss! Hope you find a fix!
@@fewcandy i have check and yes they are right in front where visitors stop. I have check option just in case but yes their in no "undo donation" 😅 i am lost i don't know what to do 🤣
@@Melaniepipoule67 oh no! I just did a look googling and apparently if you have the 'guests stay longer' option in sandbox selected then they don't donate.. I'm not sure how true that is but do you have that option selected?
@@fewcandy hoooo that is possible ! I will check when i get back home (there is this option and also "unlimited money" for visitors) so maybe that's why ! Thanks for your help ! (Maybe it was a bug in the game because in the same time my staff wasn't able to reach the staff room.. but the buildings where connected with the right path. It was strange)
