    Fantastic you make it look so easy Davie. I've been out of fly tying for a couple of years due to some family additions. 2 questions you mentioned in the video you previously discussed the tapered glitter tube, looks like it's cut a 45 degree angle. Can you please tell me which video this was? Also are you tying the head materials (fox, goat, feathers) on the inner or outer tube, its hard to see. Apologies for stupid questions

      Hi Mark,
      I have attached a link to one of my videos where I show how I prepare the tubing before I start to tye..I start tying the wing on normally just as I come off the outer tube tapering onto the inner..I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the kind words...

      @@DavieMcPhail absolute gentleman! Mind me asking what needle you're using in the hmc vice? I also use Sean's plastic tubes, but my needles are different. Also how long approx was the Heineken tube fly approx?

    Davie, may I use your videos to help teach fly tying at a community center in my neighborhood? I only charge for materials, and will not profit from the classes. I especially want to show how you recover from a mishap, and still make a durable and great looking fly.

      Hi Bill,
      Yes if the videos can help your class then I would very happy for you to use a link to them and thank you for asking..

    Mr. Davie Sir! Question.. doesn't the fly spin in the water and mess your tippit up when tying the hackle on in one direction acting like a prop? Would it be better to tie hackle on in both directions? Thanks

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  5 лет назад

      Hi Dakota, I've never had an issue with a fly spinning due to the hackle being wound one way, give the fly a go as you will see it sits nice and swims well..All the very best Davie..

      Hi George B,
      I'll try and remember to bring along the materials to tye this tube as it would be a good one to demonstrate and if you like I would happily tye you one to take away.....I'm only tying half the day as i have to be on the floor the other half but I'll not know whether it will be in the morning or the afternoon until I get there...
      All the very best Davie

      Hi alTreezy,
      Sorry about the delay in answering your question I have been away...I have to be honest it doesn't represent anything but it will swim very like a small fish and the colour combination is one of the best for salmon fishing...I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you very much for the kind words..
