The fact that he is so humble about how many lives they have impacted is nuts. I went to see them first at 16 years old. I’m 31 still listen to them almost daily.
fucking same. from NC and have driven 7 hours to nashville and 4 hours to SC to catch them lmao but they’re coming 3/30 close to home. one of the best bands doing it
@@jesseangel8223 trust me....i just seen them Saturday night with ffaa....sick af,my 1st time seeing TAS....i will definitely travel hours to see them again. Have fun!!! Rip that shit!!🤘🤘🤘
Yup
@@mindofmatter071 Were you at the palladium I assume? me too. Great show!
Vince is too modest. He needs to give himself and the musicians that have been in the band over the years more credit for what they’ve done musically for people. It has nothing to do with ego. Just accept it
Vincent has no idea what he has done for the scene and how much The Acacia Strain was essential. One of the best people I have ever gotten to talk to as well!
He's a good dude
highly influential band and frontman
Bro his lyrical content alone. If I went gay for anyone it'd be for Vincent. Your lyrics helped save my life man. Much love 😍
@@malicioustactics6846if his lyrics saved your life, maybe you're just gay.
@@TheSqueeshie Super gay. Being on the brink of death helps you resonate with his lyrics more. I must be ultra gay.
If Vincent only knew how much the whole heavy music scene loves the acacia strain
Let freedom ring, with a baja blast brothers. It’s hardlore time
Yessir
first irl hardlore meetup has to be us all moshing to machine head in a parking lot
wtf the acacia strain is a legendary band and still underrated.
God damn, the “van accident” story was brutal. I’m happy that Vincent and crew made it out of that mess.
Also, great episode. 💪🏻
Vincent is simply the best. It’s goddamn Hardlore time, bb.
Got to see them 5 years ago. As soon as they were done their set, he went RIGHT TO THE MERCH BOOTH, and I got Vincent to sign my arm by my Wormwood tattoo, and he looks and goes "Ooooooh that's fucking SICK man!!" And he was one of the chillest dudes I got to meet!
DID I JUST MEET YOU IN PHILLY?!
Vincent is beyond humble and chill. I'd say his vocals are the best they've ever been
On Broken Wings was playing similar “death core” as early as 2003 but never blew up. Worth giving a listen to if you never heard of them.
My mid 00s workout playlist had a lot of OBW, Acacia Strain, Blood Has Been Shed, and xLifeRuinerx on it, LOTTA GAINS bein made back then
I’m still getting gainz listening to those bands. TAS just hits on a whole new level lifting
Such a good band, super underrated.
I wouldn't compare on broken wings to acacia strain. Acacia strain is from my area and i know some of the founding members. On broken wings is a great band that still holds up on a sonic level but they didn't play in drop A and they had more metallic hardcore elements.
I Do My Crosswords in Pen, Hell yea!
Vincent talking about whipping water into the crowd is so fucking true, I’ve been nailed by water bottles at the last three shows I saw The Acacia Strain play, ain’t even fucking mad about it always makes me laugh 😂
Vincent youve helped me through some of the most traumatic times in my life, i hope you know your contribution in life are far more then you see day to day
their stuff helped me too. It was the first time I heard songs that had words that described exactly how I was feeling about the world. Specifically wormwood.
Randy Blythe and Mitch Lucker were the ones to get me into screaming vocals. When I finally got around to The Acacia Strain, Vincent really helped me find my perfect balance of screaming Vocals. I hate that he acts like that didn't change the genre but also, I completely understand that stance because I would do the same thing. " I didn't do shit; I am just here doing it."
Dude the tour with Chelsea grin where TAS brought left behind was amazing.
Absolutely the best part of living in New England. Worcester palladium. So many great bands coming from New England
Vincent name dropping Abandon All Ships hit me like a brick in the face. Pedestrian Is Another Word For Speedbump was my MySpace song forever lmfao
Hit after hit with these dudes
Best music pod by a miiiiile.
Man I still remember them playing the local Knights Of Columbus in Lawrence MA, a lot of fun shows went down there! Mad respect to Vincent and the rest of TAS lads... true legends for sure.
My band opened that tour with harms way, stray and TAS in Oakland years ago. We kinda got screwed in time because the guy running the show had a another band open last minute. TAS tour manager, Bruce, gave the guy some crap and then the promoter heard of this and gave us another show to open up for asking Alexandria and emmure lol. Will always remember this.
I slept on TAS for a long time but It Comes In Waves and latest LP got me hooked. got to see one of their shows where they played ICIW front to back, with an encore of normal material, top tier live band
Found em when Continent came out, that album and Wormwood are insane. Definitely recommend doing a deep dive into those.
Same. For the longest time I dabbled over the years with song like The Hills Have Eyes and Send Help but didn’t really dive into them until those records. Been one of my main listens for these past few month. Finally saw them a few weeks ago with Full Of Hell and Fit For An Autopsy and delivered one of the best sets I’ve ever seen.
i need a harms way Kublai Khan Acacia Gods hate tour
Vincent is one of the best dudes in the scene always loved chatting with him at shows he always remembers me after 15+ years.
I was in the same place as Vincent, couldn’t recognize myself in the mirror anymore. Started exercising again in Sept 2019, then picked up intermittent fasting that following Dec and haven’t missed a day. I’m the best I’ve ever felt, and picked up Muay Thai last April. One of my fav things about this change in my lifestyle tho is that I’m moshing the best I ever have in my life and I’m fucking 35!
The most amazing moment of 2022 for me was seeing TAS play a church basement with a capacity of 350 that also has a record store above it. Shout out to Preserving Underground here in Pittsburgh, it was a legendary moment and one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
I loved Vincent's behind the scenes with tour booking. I saw Lamb of God, Unearth, ETID and Atreyu all at the same show in Scottsdale in 2004/05 time frame. I count myself beyond lucky for that line-up.
did u see Throwdown at all back in the day? throwdown and bleeding through used to play w all those bands back in the days man
Vincent is entirely too accurate saying The Emerson is quite possibly the worst venue in America. That "Dark Wave Sex Club" is The White Rabbit Cabaret and the description of its patrons is on par lmao
Acacia Strain is one of my favorite bands. Great live too. 🤘🏾
Man that van accident story was crazy, I always pray for safety for bands bc that shit is brutal out there.
Glad TAS was all okay!
The Acacia Strain is a whole ass experience. Best grooves, best breakdowns, and holy fuck.... the ABSOLUTE BEST LYRICS/VOCALS.... Out of all the "core" bands, they've reeeeeally stood out, and raised the bar. If i ever made music, they'd definitely be an inspiration.
Started listening to TAS when Continent released. Haven’t stopped since. Literally have their shit blasting in my work truck everyday. Got a couple work buddies into them.
Unabomber one of my fav tracks among many many others.
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Colin - "you helped crate a genra"
Vincent - "lol What genre??"
Love it 😂😂
Deadbody tag under Colin! Hype 🎉
The dude with quite possibly the heaviest band on the planet says he hasn't contributed anything. Acacia Strain is legendary. Band is just fucking total devastation. They fuckin rip live too.
Please have him back so he can go in depth about the new stuff (which is mind blowingly sick)
That van flip story is the hardest lore so far. Vincent is Beast.
TAS, Harms Way, TT tour reunion 2023 💪😂
I know dude is trying to say TAS created deathcore but really they’re like the OGs of beatdown. So many good bands have taken their approach; Traitors, Bodysnatcher, Knocked Loose, etc. they kicked down the door and led the charge.
Black tongue wouldn't be here without tas
For me they are the fathers of downtempo/beatdown
bodysnatcher is like upper-mid music but their vocalist is so dope.
they're like the best down slow tempo slaughter to prevail mid music singer insane😅
and bro do u really think there weren't any beatdown bands in the 90s? and early 2000s?
@@eatassonthefirstdate we don't care about the 90's or the 2000's we care about TAS and BodySnatcher
Honestly its the Buccees hat on Vincent for me.
Vincent is so nice. Win a prize from his twitch stream and linked up with at furance fest and he was the kindest.
We ❤ Vinny. We ❤ fun.
I did keto cause i saw you guys doing it. And i was 6’4” 300lb and got down to 230
He has no idea how actually influential and above the rest they are lol
Deadbody is fckn sick!!! Didnt even know of them til seeing the logo under Colin's name. Kinda hits that Twitching Tongues itch. Really really love it and hope they keep it up
This was a great podcast! I love TAS, and I love Vincent! I have so many awesome memories of TAS shows. You guys are all amazing people ❤
After watching this last night, first thing I did this morning was book an appointment with a nutrionist! Thank you Vincent and gang for sharing your stories to be healthier. I am starting my journey now. 🙏
Been listening to Acacia Strain since Continent came out, Vincent is seriously humble when it comes to TAS and their impact on the scenes everywhere. I can see his point about being a mid level band but I feel like they get done dirty and deserve way more than they get.
I really love seeing shows like this especially from band's that I have admired for many years...thanks guys
ive been listening to a strain since 2010 and finally got to see them for the first time a few weeks ago at the Worcester palladium and my god what a show the pit was endless and the energy they have is just incredible to watch cant wait to see them again!
Vincent is a great guy, I think what they are trying to say is he inspired a whole generation to do great things.
The Emerson Theater is, in fact, the worst venue in America. But god damn, I love it.
Big facts!! Great pit, but absolute dog shit audio.
Hey Bo, I would love to be able to get one of those shirts from that 2011 tour. If there’s ANY way please let me know!
New Acacia Strain! Amazing.
The van story is incredible, holy shit! what a nightmare glad everyone was ok
stoked to hear what makes vince weap. quality podcast boys
I played drums with the local on the pittsburgh date of the astrain/VOM/twitching tongues tour. Super bummed I didn't get to play with Acacia strain that night but I'm glad you all are okay
Vincent has impacted so many lives it’s insane
I'm 3 minutes into this interview and Vincent if you're by some chance reading this... Fuck Carbomb. I haven't been able to turn off Slow Decay for about a month now (slept on it for a few years and i'm sorry, ok) and it's so reminiscent of how I felt listening to Continent years ago and freaking out about it and listening too it on repeat, and it's the same with the new EP, holy fuck dude. Thanks for everything, you and the crew. Some of the best, solid fucking death there is out there and I love you for it.
dude the continent CD was stuck in my car stereo for like, I dunno probably 2 months I legit didn't take it out the CD player😅
Ayyy the forge shoutout, one of my favorite venues
Emerson is definitely a toilet, but its our toilet. Standing for 5+ hours on that slanted floor every other week is the only reason my calves are still chiseled stone.
I was at the "God Damn Tour" in Detroit. I live in Ohio and couldn't make the Ohio date for whatever reason so that was the next best option. Still one of my favorite shows I have ever been to. The lineup was literally STACKED.
you a veteran of Peabodys and Agora shows back in the dizz-ay? in Clevo?
Dude Core. That’s the genre. Never forget those glory years touring with From A Second Story Window and On Broken Wings. ❤
YESSSS FUCK YES I’ve been waiting for this one.
a little late to this video but I laughed at the food conversation where Vincent's talking about getting taco bell back in the day and one of my favorite memories is when I was working at taco bell I made food for him one night then was front row at the acacia strain an hour later at a home town show. pretty sure it was with terror, Gaza and the red chord.
Gaza wow haven’t heard that band in a long time
Red chord with TAS? good god super old, what PROBLY 05 or 06?
I think it was somewhere between 2010 and 2013 it's been so long I don't remember exactly but I remember the show and watching the pit completely stop during the red chord because a girl in the pit lost a gauge so everyone stopped to help her find it haha. side note no barricade shows for TAS are the best
Dope shit my favorite genre 🙌🏾
Vincent Bennett is the man!
Just saw the Acacia Strain tour announcement and holyyyy!
best to ever do it!
So according to Vincent , Howard Jones invented Deathcore.
Neat.
Back in highschool when I first heard Blood Has Been Shed I thought it was the heaviest shit in the world lol
@@luismata11 at that very moment Perhaps .
I don't agree with that statement at all
Truly, Vincent and acacia are legit fucking legends. So sick. 💪🏻💪🏻
Fucking love vincent he's the man really appreciate this new "inside baseball-ish" interview love hearing how shit works behind the scenes
Love TAS. Vincent is the man
Vincent is the man!
Hi I'm here to say that I am 100% responsible for the spike in Carbomb's Spotify plays, it was me this whole time
love how sweet he is
xxx
Just from what Vincent said at 2:47 i can tell he's very humble
Glad to hear them shoutout my local venue ACE OF SPADES LETS GOOO
TAS definitely did come out swinging with their own sound back in the day whether Vincent likes it or not haha. They undeniably had a huge impact on heavy music.
He said they were a copy of Blood Has Been Shed but I don't particularly hear many similarities between the two bands. I prefer TAS a thousand times
Great episode, this shit always makes my week
During the brief three years I played in a touring band back in the early 00's much of my fondest memories are made up of sleeping in vans, inbetween vans in parking lots, under a boardwalk, on a boulder, near a lake, handful of picnic tables, some pool floats, plenty of floors.
Good times.
Saw these dudes when they had 3 guitarists in like 03 or something. They were heavy then and still just as heavy now.
Shotout to the number 12 looks like you
Vincent Bennett for president... altho he would be miserable there
He is the greatest ever! I have seen his band live 6 times, and I can not wait to see them again asap!!!! KANSAS PLEASEEEEEEE
Vincent rocking the Buccees hat!!!!!
Vincent also gets credit for spreading the gospel of Polar Seltzer. At least he’s how I discovered it
Im not finished with this yet, but i hope Vincent talks about the mace incident in Greensboro NC in 2020 😂 BOOOOY THAT WAS AN EXPERIENCE
This was cool
Blood has been shed needs to do a reunion tour!
I was at that show in Lancaster. The Industry Theater. Shortly after that show the venue shut down…
I remember the Jax date of that VOM tour when twitching tongues hopped to play a show with code orange the same night
and life is very long....
OG TAS
HARDLOOOOORRRREEEE!!
Vincent the GOAT
Vincent is such a fucking cool dude!
Yes, back when acacia first came out, nobody was dirty chunk riffing like that. The "Sour note" was made popular by TAS
It’s The Castle Theater in Bloomington Vincent was talking about. I’ve seen Knuckle Puck there a few times and about smashed my head open on metal railing that’s along the steps going up the whole venue
I went to the God Damn Tour date in Covington, KY and it was nuts
I love how Vince just blatantly spits the truth , big ups
The Arizona wreck story! I had similar brutal wreck here in AZ! Truck driver killed three and went MIA
lmao that joliet show for the god damn tour kicked ass. adam from oceano was even there moshing.
also that awful venue with the tierd floors is the castle theater in bloomington, il.
SOUNDS OF THE UNDERGROUND WAS DOPE, VINCENT THANK YOU FOR THROEING IN MUSHROOMHEAD.
BACK IN THE 90S , MUSHROOMHEAD, INTEGRITY, RINGWORM, CHIMAIRA, ONE LIFE CREW, STATE OF CONVICTION, OUR SCENE IN CLEVO WAS OFF THE HOOK.
SHROOMHEAD HALOWEEN SHOW THEN CHIMAIRA CHRISTMAS BOTH AT AGORA THEATER WAS ALWAYS SUPER ROWDY AND SOLD OUT IN A 1500 PERSON VENUE👍🏻
