- Colin and Bo are joined by first ever 3-time guest Taylor Young to celebrate the return of Twitching Tongues and the very special double LP re-release of their debut album Sleep Therapy via Closed Casket Activities.
Recorded when Colin and Taylor were 18 and 22, and taking two years to be released, they talk about the pains of outgrowing their first album before most people ever heard it, leaving behind a complicated legacy and creating resentment towards the songs.
Now with the benefit of hindsight, they celebrate the album, and the impact it made on people early in their journeys through hardcore music.

What’s up Young Bro’s! I think I was there for this gang vocal session? I remember Nate doing some vocals, Jacob doing vocals, Collin’s part, and gangvocals all being done that night but I think it was for multiple songs from different bands on the split. If memory serves right, when I watched Collin sing that night it wasn’t the first time I heard him as I feel like I had the TT demo already…but also could have been sent an early version before hand. Vivid memories of Collin passing out the demo CDR (which I still have 😂) outside of McWorld over on LaBrea&Adams.

I’m offended by the way Collin talks about how shitty his lyrics are being written by an 18 year old…. That’s what makes it GOOOOD. So many bands that stick around lose their lyrical angst over a 10 year stint in hardcore, life starts getting better, teenage angst mellows out and the lyrics get soft. “Why can’t i love, why can’t i care at all, why can’t i cherish anything” “help me before i help myself” “the razors edge can’t grant you the salvation that you seek” sure a lot of the other songs are about heartbreak and women… but godamn that’s a big part of life for people, it’s still relatable all these years later.

colin- I am trying to understand your take on melodic hardcore. many of the bands I would put in that category most definitely have pits. counterparts, shai hulud, comeback kid etc. misery signals' of malice and the magnum heart, for example, is the master killer of melodic hardcore IMO and is also extremely heavy. hope to hear more on the subject. also I missed the last whatnot but I want a hardlore shirt so bad. xo
Those are all legendary bands at this point and I’d be really interested in hearing more on this as well as they all have great mosh parts. I remember seeing Misery Signals multiple times around the time OMAMH came out and people moshed hard through every song. Same can be said about HH
