I believe is was the apollo btc miners because it said it was in the combination of four machines, dont know how true it is but that's what the article said. each apollo miner can produce between 1-3 th/s, you should do a video on those because there's so few videos and information about them, and i cant find any videos on buying them from someone else and flashing the SSD to clear it from their old information. would be great 🙌

I figured I can drop $500 at a casino in about 20 minutes and I dont buy lottery tickets. So, this is my gambling. I bought a nice surge protector off Amazon for $30 and it just sits there. I had it up roughly a month now. Is it cost effective vs buying a $399 miner no really but for a home miner who has an empty shelf and about $1000 to throw away, not bad. Yea they do all run on 120 watts total. You are upfront buying for the low wattage. Viabtc, 2miners and etc etc merge them together. Its a "fun" thing mostly.
for what you pay for those usb miners, you can buy 2 S9. If you use Hiveon FW and run a p1200 EVGA PSU, you can mine from home quietly....and get a ton more hashrate...
I got an antminer s9 for free. I run it on brians os at 225 watts (of the rated 1400w) claims 3th/s and I run it purely from surplus electricity from my solar on my campervan. I literally wanted something to waste electricity on and, well... solo mining is a good waste of electricity!

Am playing the Monero lottery on my xmr node, not on all the time right now as doing it for fun so when I do have a fully running node I can mine to it .
I am having the same issue with mine. It would stop mining. If you leave on it’ll come back but stop mining again after some time. That’s how the hash rate gets so low. It’s averaging out, stopping and starting again.
The hardware has a heat problem causing it to freeze Any miner is using USB interface will not get no where based on my experience even if you try to get block for may be Bit-Coin-Cash an $80 crypto To be realistic less than 10 X 10 T miner you will get nothing as a solo miner. You may make some money getting a block or two per month for some crypto like Classic Ethrum but NOT for Bitcoin
Know this sounds crazy.. But i was having the same issue of after an hour or so CGMINER would stop mining. I had my miners plugged into the hub like you do, then i tried moving that middle one up closer to the first one and I haven't had an issue since then. Been running for about a month. Yes I am using a pi4, but had the same crash issue orginally.
See what happens after 1 month. I have been mining with these since late June 2022. They will mine unattended for only 3 to 5 weeks max! Whe I get back to them I see that the Raspberry Pi has rebooted and is waiting for the mining commands. Probably what is needed is a RPi cron job to automatically start the mining process when it decides to reboot.
Ive been solo mining with 3, 3th miners fetting 9th for past year on ck pool. No blocks yet. Had good luck solo mining with eth 2 yrs ago and etc last year.
These ASICs throttle real easy. To pump up the hash rate you have to provide extreme cooling, i.e. large CFM fan(s) and then tweak the frequency for the miner. What software came with the miner? Is it proprietary or FOSS? Also, It shouldn't matter what RPi you use.
