Your smile is ravishing, your countenance is joyful, and your eyes are like flax blossoms. Your ears are like blossoming trumpet flowers. Your nose is like a lotus bud. Your mouth is like a mallow in full bloom. You have a sparkling body and the figure of a young maiden. Your speech is like a kalavinka bird, proclaiming the Dharma. Your compassionate mind guards all beings with love. Your left hand holds a lotus, for you are unstained by saṃsāra’s flaws. Your right hand grants protection to all beings to fulfill their aims. You are seated on the sun and moon of method and wisdom. Venerable lady Tārā, we take refuge in you! Protect us from the great abyss of saṃsāra! As we circle within the six transmigrations, may you secure us with your noose of great compassion. As we go astray into the three lower realms, may you place us on a path free from straying. As we are born into families with wrong views, please introduce us to teachers who possess the mind of awakening. You protect from the eight dangers. The danger of lions, or pride. The danger of elephants, or delusion. The danger of fire, or hatred. The danger of snakes, or jealousy. The danger of robbers, or wrong views. The danger of prisons, or desire. The danger of floods, or attachments. The danger of demons, or doubts. We pay homage to you! In this world and in others as well, protect us from these eight dangers! Until we have reached our goal of Enlightenment, the other shore, may we make the ten perfections our inseparable allies. The perfection of generosity. The perfection of good moral conduct. The perfection of Patience. The perfection of diligence. The perfection of concentration. The perfection of insight. The perfection of Method. The perfection of aspiration. The perfection of strength. The perfection of wisdom. Dear Mother Tara, please take care of humanity and all sentient beings. Please protect us from our own stupidity, greed, aggressive reaction and vindictiveness. This is currently in excess, so we need you to help us. Thank you for your enlightened wisdom. Thank you for your blessings and your soft and warm presence 😊❤🙏
Before I knew or understood an iota of the Dharma it was Tara who called me to the path. It took me a long time to understand Her message, yet She treated me with perfect compassion and boundless patience and approached me in forms using methods I would understand until I took the hint. Yet I have suffered a bit as of late with confusion and doubt as I try to reconcile the visible and tangible results of Her actions toward me with the ideas of emptiness and extinction. There are masters who say, "Tara knows she is not real", because nothing is real. I hear this and I fear that my dedication is born of wrong thought or delusion, or that I have followed the wrong path and must turn away. I start to wonder what the point of anything is, and can't see the difference between nihilism and nirvana despite being assured they were not the same before. It seems all I can do is continue to trust in Her to eventually show me how it makes sense. 🙏
Thank you for sharing. Yes, it is really important if you're working with the teachings on Emptiness not to understand them as nihilistic. Empty of ego is not same as empty of existence. We certainly exist, it's just that ego, the "me" is somewhat illusory. There's really no need to rush meditations on emptiness. (Personally, I avoid the term nothingness, even though some teachers use that as an "English translation" of Shunyata.) Shunyata is NOT nothingness, that's a completely incorrect translation and poor one. (When teacher's use it, it's because linguistically, that's what is provided as a translation for Shunyata). Emptiness is "better" but not perfect -- for example, you can say "empty of ego" but being "empty of ego" doesn't mean you don't exist. One of the "best" translations I've heard from a very eminent teacher is "Everythingness." Shunyata is not nothingness (that's just a bad English translation) it is more akin to "Everythingness." We are all Oneness. But, it's very hard for me at this stage (and frankly, most people) to understand, which is why it's best to abide in Tara's wisdom and Tara's compassion.Tara is teaching us to abide in compassion and metta for all beings because we are One in our Buddha Nature, and to, to be helpful Tara's for other people. That compassion doesn't arise from nothingness, it arises, rather "everythingness." In kindness, BW
@@BuddhaWeekly Thanks so much for your advice. The day barely went by before I received some other answers as well, almost everywhere I looked was another that felt beneficial to me. Tara is swift indeed.

We do plan to recite the Cundhi Bodhsiattva Dharani Sutra in the near future. If you were requesting this mantra for our chanted mantra series, it may be on our fourth album. The third album is finalized and soon will release, but we haven't started on the fourth. In kindness, BW.
A question, if I can. May I practice Tara (for example reciting Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha) even for the deceased people? Is Tara able, or "authorized", to save people from Hell, for example, or it is better to recite Ksitigarbha or Amitabha? May I practice Tara for my parents and my relatives (and of course for ALL the people) dead? Thanks ❤
All of these practices are helpful. As was stated in this sutra, the Tara Dharani Sutra, she protects sentient beings in all six realms (one of the six realms is the "hell realms"). Normally, we think in terms of the person you are thinking of, who passed. What did they have faith in? If that was Tara, or if Tara is your Yidam or special Buddha, then that is certainly best as a practice. If it was Kshitigarbha, then the Earth Bodhisattva, of course. He is favored because of his special focus in Sutra in rescuing beings in the hell realms, but his jewel -- the jewel in his one hand -- allows him to rescue beings in all six realms as well. And Amitabha, is the spiritual Buddha of both Tara and Kshitigarbha. We chant Amitabha's mantra and Dharani to try to purify their karma and to supplicate Amitabha to take our dear ones to his precious Pureland, Sukahavati. So, all three, but normally I would focus on the Buddha you feel closest to, your Yidam or meditation Buddha. Just to be clear, though, Tara rescues beings in all six realms, as stated in the sutra. Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha. 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
