    I was looking to see if the ridgeline had off roading potential, thanks to this video I can confirm I’d does what I want it to do. I hate the unreliability of jeeps and FJ cruisers are to expensive.

    Another fantastic video! These are the best first generation Ridgeline videos out there...by far. The scenery, explanations, camera angles...it is all a real good mix. You are blessed to have that much beach without crowds to drive on. You have a lift on your Ridgeline, right? Nice to see how capable it is, and it sounds great. I've officially subscribed.

    Great job Escudería Balmaceda! Thank you for the explanations of when you switched modes and gears; it is very helpful to see how the 1st generation Ridgeline performs in those different settings. Question: Why are there no people enjoying the surf on the two beaches you drove on?

    • @EscuderiaBalmaceda
      @EscuderiaBalmaceda  3 года назад +7

      Your welcome. These beaches are not good for surfing, the waves break too close to the shore , there are other beaches where the waves are great and surfers go, but not these ones.

    Also. If you see the tc light flashing, keep accelerating . It will shift the power if you keep going. Treat it like a really aggressive LSD on front and rear axles

  • @willhutton1516
    @willhutton1516 3 года назад +1

    I believe the VTM-4 Lock does 60-40 rear- front bias and uses traction control to modulate left and right. Normal drive mode is the same functions as vtm-4 lock, just more front biased until slip is detected

    • @EscuderiaBalmaceda
      @EscuderiaBalmaceda  3 года назад

      It does feel a little difference when the VTM-4 Lock system is activated, on the manual says the power sent to the rear is about 70%, most of the time when i go offroad just drive on normal mode with the VSA off.

    • @RaY_77W

      Yup, it’s 30 front and 70 rear tho Will Hutton.

    • @willhutton1516
      @willhutton1516 3 года назад

      @@RaY_77W thanks for the clear up. I’ve seen both sets of numbers on websites. I also wonder if we could do a gear reducer on the coupler to the diffs on the driveshafts. Use it only in first or second gear lockout like the vtm-4 system does. Would really make a difference since it’s an auto with no lo range.

    • @EscuderiaBalmaceda
      @EscuderiaBalmaceda  3 года назад +1

      @@nirvanwa in my case i deactivate the VSA because i like to have a bit more control on the truck, meaning i don't like the VSA limiting the truck by choosing which tire needs more torque. If you are driving on snow or icy roads then i would recommend to leave the VSA ON.

      Sorry to hear about your truck. I have been driving my truck on different types of terrains, the only challenges i haven´t been on is snow and rockcrawling, other than that i have been driving washboard roads, sand dunes, by the beach, over dry river beds, over arroyos, most of the Baja terrain available here close to where i live in the southern peninsula, so far the RL has been holding up pretty good, i know is not a Raptor, modified Jeep, or other "true 4x4 vehicle" but it gets the job done.
