Never! Dimebag is the greatest guitarist ever. Vinnie Paul is one of the greatest groove drummers ever. Phil has one of the most unique voices ever. Rex Brown is one of the most underrated bassist ever imo. People dont really know what Pantera did for metal. Only the real fans do.

This was my intro to Pantera as well. There is no "dipping your toes into the pool" to test the waters with Pantera. It's best to dive right in.
This whole album bangs. I had the Vulgar Display album stuck in my car for like a year back in the day and didn’t mind that much.

Us kids of the 80's thrash and 90's Pantera are still out here - I wake up every day to War Nerve as my alarm ringtone - so I get it. If I heard Walk as a ringtone, I'd say hello because we are the same. Had blacktooths with a guy at a bar last month - just cuz he had a Pantera shirt on 🤘 Phil and Rex out next year with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante - it will be the closest to Pantera we will ever see again. Gosh do I miss Dime and Vinnie - RIP brothers. But I will not miss the 2 remaining members just cuz I'm butt-hurt Pantera broke up...
@@palladinodessa8988 i feel you. not exactly same but i think maybe sort of same for me with AIC. i dont like them touring after layne. cant help it, i feels what i feels. which is so stupid of me. jerry cantrell is a bad mother-fucker on his own, no doubt, but i cant get into the newer stuff. my heart actually hurts when i think of him dying all alone.

@@palladinodessa8988 ... as for zakk wylde, hes something special. after a break up a few years ago i listened to the last goodbye over and over and over and over. bawling and snottin' and wallowing in crippling misery for weeks. damn near ruined bls for myself altogether. lol
@@sadiej573 Zakk is talented without question. He's also tasteful and respectful which is why I think he's right for this project. I had a nasty breakup some time ago and I drove from Cali to NH. I left all the feelings and regrets on the 3 day trip. Slept in truck stops in my car. Obviously Pantera was in the playlist with Korn, LP, and all the thrashy 80's bands.

im same. sometimes i gotta hop on the interstate with the windows down, music loud, and drive fast as i can to the next exit or so, then turn around haul ass back to town. its wild how just hearing certain music can stir us up. amazing really.

My experience is a lot like Dave's. I grew up listening to rap in the 90s and Pantera was my first exposure to real metal, not this album though. Anyway, I watch a lot of Pantera reactions and try to support anyone doing them. I'm subscribed and watch a lot of this channel, so it was a given that I do the same in this case. Thanks to the man who requested it and to the blokes! Cheers.

My first dive into metal was when we finally got cable in 99. Korn, Manson, Rob zombie, Static-x....not metal but Nirvana. Then Rammstein, Immortal, Slayer, Iron Maiden...different stuff
I like CFH but man Vulgar Display of Power kicked my ARSE!! THIS is the first song I learned by Pantera. That riff? Absolutely sick!!
My first concert even was Pantera opening for Skid Row when Vulgar and Slave to the Grind came out. Hell of a good show.

I know it's macabre, but I think you should watch the short documentary on Dimebag's murder. It's an important event in music history & although isn't enjoyable it stirs a strong reaction.
I had a similar arc to Dave, hip-hop/rap for me when I was 13 with The Eminem Show, then at 18 at Uni, properly got into metal after flirting with it for a couple years. Mainly Slipknot back then, evolved to Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura etc
