I make these all the time. They are amazing and are one of my favorite cookies. We use almond butter because we have a peanut allergy in our family. My favorite way to eat them is right out of the freezer. Yum! Yes, please..make a video about can't and choosing not to eat certain foods. For example: my daughter chooses not to eat meat, but she can't have peanuts because she is allergic. There is a difference.

For those doing keto, just sub the maple syrup for keto maple syrup and make sure your using unsweetened coconut.

Thank you for this recipe Dani. I always loved the "sticks of butter & cups of white sugar" version but this is way better. Not just healthier but they taste sooo much better too. I've made them 3 times already!! My family goes crazy for them. Thank you for your healthy vibe. Love what you do!!

Currently eating your almond joy cookies which I changed up a bit (swapped a cup the oats with coconut flakes and sweetened with dates rather than bananas, also added some sesame seeds), I keep coming back to your recipes especially when I crave something "oaty" :) . Amazing advice at the end of your video, having implemented delicious and nutritious food into my daily life (much of them thanks to your great recipes), I have not felt "deprived" for a very long time, it builds confidence into the food choices I make everyday and that was really a big change for me, to "trust" myself and my food choices rather than punishing myself. I am quite happy with my health and strength at 28 and I feel mentally free. Now, holidays are not stress inducing, I no longer feel the need to over indulge because another big change is that you TRULY crave your own delicious and healthy foods rather than unhealthy ones. Thanks Dani!

These reminds me of Chocolate No Bake cookies from early 70's and my Jr. High years. We made them in home-ec class and were always a must with sleep overs! Needless to say we ate way too many! I have not made them for a few years because they are so sweet! Thank you for this updated healthy version. I love how use honey or maple syrup for sweetness.
    Thank you Dani.

Yes! I'd love for you to tell us more about not having something because you CHOOSE to as opposed to not ALLOWING yourself. I practice this daily, but for good reason. I have a gluten sensitivity but do not have Celiacs. I CHOOSE not to eat gluten because of the effect it has on my body - it makes me feel bad for 2 days and is simply not worth it to me. Also, there are plenty of foods I CHOOSE not to indulge in (gluten or not) simply because I consider them to be extravagant and unnecessary and a detriment to my overall health. I'm with you - if I need something indulgent, I'd MUCH prefer something like these cookies. It's a treat, it's fulfilling, it's yummy AND good for me. Thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful recipes and your channel! You are the best! Much love from Atlanta!

I just made these about an hour ago and, not one to wait for things, ate one just now (it was firm enough to hold). HOLY CRAP are these good!!! Sweet but not too sweet, and VERY rich. I used Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder (unsweetened) and it made these nice and dark. I will absolutely be making these again and I've subscribed for more fun recipes. Thank you so much for this!!
Quick tip: if you don't feel like rolling the batter into balls, just plop spoonfuls on your tray and smooth out. Who cares if they're perfect circles, right? YUM!!
ETA: I find that keeping these in the freezer is best. They're a nice ice cold treat that feels and tastes indulgent but isn't! I had two for breakfast with tea and I feel full which is a nice change from my usual breakfast. Guess I need to make another batch!

I needed a sweet treat tonight and had all the ingredients to make this (because of everything you've taught me). I used this awesome maple syrup - wild four infused with vanilla bean - from Costco. WOW, these cookies are delicious! My other favorite are you gluten free chocolate chip with almond butter. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge with us all.

This looks great and definitely has high quality ingredients. That being said it’s also a high calorie food, so don’t plan on eating this if you are on a calorie deficit to lose weight because two of these are pretty high calorie for the volume of food they are. Healthy does not equal low calorie, and while this may be healthy for someone who does not have to lose weight it may not be “healthy” for those who do. That being said, you could replace the peanut butter with pb2, coco powder with chocolate protein powder, and maple syrup with sugar free maple syrup. The ratios would have to be played with but it would make a great diet snack! Thanks for the base recipe!!

I love your healthy eating tip and find it so true that when I’m eating more “clean” the garbage is less appetizing. If I’m it work or out and junk food is available it is easier to avoid if I know I have some healthier version waiting for me at home (or packed in my purse haha). I also live in Hawaii so it’s nice to not have to use the oven when it’s warm out to make these “cookies.” Thanks Dani!

I used both rolled and steel cut oats then soaked them in a covered container in the fridge overnight for improved digestibility. I also added some cinnamon, trying to make a similar version of Voortman oatmeal cookies, omitting the peanut butter but adding whole milk. I'll know tomorrow morning how my breakfast cookies turned out.

If I had thought about it, I should have known better because they never firmed up. So, today I am using coconut oil and they are delicious. But I do substitute almond butter for peanut butter.
