I'm wondering why most devs didn't make patch, long ago. So far a lot of ps4 games i tried, don't even play 1080/60fps. None play 4k/60fps. Problem is: once you play 4k, you don't want to play 1080p again. Once you play 60fps, you don't want to play 30fps again. But you can't have 4k/60fps so far, which is annoying, cause PS5 isn't better than PS4 Pro, atm Just for some exclusives.
You can really tell a difference by playing it. I played it this evening on my ps5 & coming from an original ps4 the game play is soooo much smoother & it also seems like the lighting is more vivid & defined.
I have a ps4 pro and 1080p/60fps mode of this game is the best experience I've ever had on this console. The graphics quality at 1080p is still amazing.
that's the point! it's a ps4 game running on ps5.....it's not going to look much better. There is a difference in thje ps4 to ps4 pro. very small difference. The main difference of course is being able to play in 4k. Not only that but you're watching it on youtube where the video is compressed like crazy.
I agree with you. The only difference that is clearly noticeable is the FPS between PS4s and PS5. Everything else for me is pretty much the very fucking same.
I've had all the playstations and xbox's over the years, now I have a PS5 and Xbox series X and I have to be honest, I am really disappointed with the PS5. It's ugly, it's massive and does very little to improve on the PS4 pro. Admittedly God of war is the best looking and playable game I think I've ever played but they have really dropped the ball with this console. Playing Forza on the new Xbox is stunning already at this early stage so I'm hopeful Sony pull there finger out there back side and get back in the game instead of rehashes of old games like Demon souls, looks great but my god is it boring.

Last week is when I decided to purchase this game, my friend kept saying how great it was. Honestly knew about God of War but never actually played a single game. Sad I know, but I watched every gameplay/cutscene of God of War 1-3 and was going to do the same with 4 so I could be a cheapskate…something about the opening…I had to buy it. It seemed wrong to watch someone else play this game. And I’ve been playing it every night before I fall asleep! Can’t believe I waited this long to play a God of War game, and can’t believe I was lucky enough to enjoy this experience for only $10

I just started playing this game on the PS5 downloaded for free on ps plus.. & this the best looking game I've seen. Especially for it to be 4 years old. Graphics look amaaaazing 10/10
Yeah I never played it on my PS4 or PS4 Pro, I’ve always been into sports games way more than games like this…..but I heard about it so much I had to give it a try, since I now am fortunate enough to own a PS5 plus the new one is getting ready to come out in November. I will say, outside of Red Dead Redemption II this is graphically one of the most amazing games I’ve ever seen despite only starting in about 5 mins ago!

it looks great on both consoles, keep in mind this is just a PS4 game ported over the PS5, once we see titles being made from the ground up it'll make quite a difference.
Creo que muchos se confunden con lo del 4k y el 1080p, pensando que se ve mejor el 4k, pero esto solo es cierto si tienes tv de más de unas 45", si no, no notaras la diferencia, que esté en 4k significa que se verá mejor en una pantalla más grande. Lo que importa en el juego son los efectos, las texturas,partículas etc.
Igual es increible el trabajo que han hecho en God Of War 2018 que en PS4 solo necesitas cargar el juego una vez, y de ahi jugarlo de corrido hasta el final. Simplemente inmejorable.

Me too. I only have a base original modell ps4 or launch PS4. I dont have a high end gaming PC nor a gaming Laptop. I think some PS4/PS5 exclusives like spiderman, God of war, the last of us series and even ghost of tsushima wont be available on PC so this means that I will just buy a Playstation for gaming.

I played this for the first time the other day on my ps5.. Graphically it's good enough at 1080p but the boost in frame rate up to 60fps is incredible.. I don't think i will be upgrading my tv when 60fps looks this good.
The biggest value of the PS5 is for new adopters of the Playstation and it's fast load times. But to be honest, the graphics in the PS5 is not there yet. Still being optimized and yet to be taken advantage of. There are some games on the PS4 Pro that look much better depending on if the game was remastered for it and such. A good reference would be Spider-Man. Check out the videos online. There are points that the character design and lighting effects are better on the older PS 4 Pro. But if this is your first unit, I'd definitely say go for the PS 5. For existing PS4 Pro owners such as myself, I'd recommend to save your moolah until something substantial comes up or if special editions with free games / accessories come out. And of course in case of sales. Have a wonderful Christmas season everyone!
PS4 everything looks blurry even compared to the ps4pro. The 5 has so much more detail in those split 3 side by side scenes it’s not even funny. How do you not see the blurryness?

I am watching it on 4k 60 fps there is a really small difference between the ps4 pro and ps5. They may patch it but honestly this game already looked amazing on the first ps4.

Recuerden que está corriendo en Ps5 solo con el modo de retrocompatibilidad, osea, está emulando la PS4, solo que toma una ligera ventaja al mantener 60 fps estables, cosa que la PS4 pro no puede, si sacan una versión remasterizada para Ps5 el juego podrá aprovechar todas las características del Ps5 como los tiempos de cargas y podría correr a una resolución 4k 60 fps casi nativa, pero para eso requiere como dije un trabajo de remasterización.

Thanks for this! I was able to use PSX download helper and my PS4 to download version 1.00 and then transferred it over to my PS5. This works for those with Digital PS5 or no Disc for God of War just have to make sure to not allow the update to ever finish or you need to delete and transfer it over again. It also worked for AC Unity

Because on mine I noticed when I play on 1080p60 it's shows as a 4k input in my TV, this happens with every PS4 game, even the ones that aren't PS4Pro enhanced and I can clearly notice the difference, it's not a native 4k image for sure but it's not as fuzzy as 1080p. Do you think they will launch a PS5 patch to 4k60?

Ahora, con la versión de disco de cover ROJO llamada PlayStation Hits... ese viene con la 1.0 también? O ese disco tiene ya algún Update y no se puede?
The high fps mode for the game felt unnatural. It was like Krato took speed before hand and was just lightning quick with every animation, it wasn't right. Kinda felt like the devs took a two seconds of 30fps and made that 1 second of 60.
I'm playing at 60FPS and never played the game before. Toggling 30FPS feels unplayable and it's almost hard to believe it was widely accepted as an amazing game at that setting.

Brilliant video.. Like your content very much.. I have a question though.. Did you notice any bug or glitch in the game when playing it on the PS5 ver1.00? I have completed the game on PS4 Pro, but I'm now thinking of playing it again if I really could experience it all in 4K60 glory. I didn't enjoy at all playing it on my Pro even at 1080p because of the damn jet engine sound.
It hasn't been patched yet. Pre-patch you might notice a 10-20% difference, but post-patch is when the game will come to life. Look at Borderlands 3 for instance, I played that on PS5 pre-patch and it was slightly better than PS4 Pro: more stable framerate, slightly better loading times, few if any drops, so I was like ok cool, it's better... but after patch it was night and day. Loading was cut by more than 70% and the game runs at a fluid 60fps with only occasional dips. It's insane to see a game that was almost unplayable running like this
So with the update it locks it at 30fps on 4k mode on ps5? That's stupid seeing it is perfectly capable of 60fps with 4k. Hopefully they release an update that unlocks it to 60fps

Creo que muchos se confunden con lo del 4k y el 1080p, pensando que se ve mejor el 4k, pero esto solo es cierto si tienes tv de más de unas 45", si no, no notaras la diferencia, que esté en 4k significa que se verá mejor en una pantalla más grande. Lo que importa en el juego son los efectos, las texturas,partículas etc.

Me too. I only have a base original modell ps4 or launch PS4. I dont have a high end gaming PC nor a gaming Laptop. I think some PS4/PS5 exclusives like spiderman, God of war, the last of us series and even ghost of tsushima wont be available on PC so this means that I will just buy a Playstation for gaming.

I played this for the first time the other day on my ps5.. Graphically it's good enough at 1080p but the boost in frame rate up to 60fps is incredible.. I don't think i will be upgrading my tv when 60fps looks this good.
The biggest value of the PS5 is for new adopters of the Playstation and it's fast load times. But to be honest, the graphics in the PS5 is not there yet. Still being optimized and yet to be taken advantage of. There are some games on the PS4 Pro that look much better depending on if the game was remastered for it and such. A good reference would be Spider-Man. Check out the videos online. There are points that the character design and lighting effects are better on the older PS 4 Pro. But if this is your first unit, I'd definitely say go for the PS 5. For existing PS4 Pro owners such as myself, I'd recommend to save your moolah until something substantial comes up or if special editions with free games / accessories come out. And of course in case of sales. Have a wonderful Christmas season everyone!

PS4 everything looks blurry even compared to the ps4pro. The 5 has so much more detail in those split 3 side by side scenes it’s not even funny. How do you not see the blurryness?

Recuerden que está corriendo en Ps5 solo con el modo de retrocompatibilidad, osea, está emulando la PS4, solo que toma una ligera ventaja al mantener 60 fps estables, cosa que la PS4 pro no puede, si sacan una versión remasterizada para Ps5 el juego podrá aprovechar todas las características del Ps5 como los tiempos de cargas y podría correr a una resolución 4k 60 fps casi nativa, pero para eso requiere como dije un trabajo de remasterización.

Thanks for this! I was able to use PSX download helper and my PS4 to download version 1.00 and then transferred it over to my PS5. This works for those with Digital PS5 or no Disc for God of War just have to make sure to not allow the update to ever finish or you need to delete and transfer it over again. It also worked for AC Unity
It will look all similar and wouldn't matter if you don't have the monitor/TV that support the quality of the games.

Does the PS5 upscales from 1080p to 4k internally? Because on mine I noticed when I play on 1080p60 it's shows as a 4k input in my TV, this happens with every PS4 game, even the ones that aren't PS4Pro enhanced and I can clearly notice the difference, it's not a native 4k image for sure but it's not as fuzzy as 1080p.

Short Version: It pretty much looks the same but runs with more FPS and loads quicker.

La pregunta que yo tengo es la siguiente... Yo sé que con la versión 1.0 original de disco (cover AZUL) que salio en el 2018 se puede correr en PS5 en 4K/60fps... Ahora, con la versión de disco de cover ROJO llamada PlayStation Hits... ese viene con la 1.0 también? O ese disco tiene ya algún Update y no se puede?
The high fps mode for the game felt unnatural. It was like Krato took speed before hand and was just lightning quick with every animation, it wasn't right. Kinda felt like the devs took a two seconds of 30fps and made that 1 second of 60.

I'm playing at 60FPS and never played the game before. Toggling 30FPS feels unplayable and it's almost hard to believe it was widely accepted as an amazing game at that setting.

4k checkerboard rendering mode is confirmed turning at 60fps on PS5 and not 30fps for 1.00 version.

I have a question though.. Did you notice any bug or glitch in the game when playing it on the PS5 ver1.00?
I have completed the game on PS4 Pro, but I'm now thinking of playing it again if I really could experience it all in 4K60 glory. I didn't enjoy at all playing it on my Pro even at 1080p because of the damn jet engine sound.
It can be said that it is getting better. But it's an area that can no longer be discerned by the human eye.
It hasn't been patched yet. Pre-patch you might notice a 10-20% difference, but post-patch is when the game will come to life. Look at Borderlands 3 for instance, I played that on PS5 pre-patch and it was slightly better than PS4 Pro: more stable framerate, slightly better loading times, few if any drops, so I was like ok cool, it's better... but after patch it was night and day. Loading was cut by more than 70% and the game runs at a fluid 60fps with only occasional dips. It's insane to see a game that was almost unplayable running like this
So with the update it locks it at 30fps on 4k mode on ps5? That's stupid seeing it is perfectly capable of 60fps with 4k. Hopefully they release an update that unlocks it to 60fps
