kinda funny how a perk (fast fingers) that sligthly buffs single shot rifles gets nerfed instantly, even though they still aren't better than most other rifles even with the perk
I know right... Yet if you read some of the comments, people are comparing it to Fanning or Levering and think its just as strong if not stronger. Yet Fast Fingers is only shaving off 1sec of the cycle time in case of the Springfield for example (a little bit more in Case of the Sparks). Funny think is that Bolt Thrower for the Hand Crossbow/ Normal Crossbow (That nobody btw is complaining about) is shaving of almost 2sec in case of the Big Crossbow and ~1.5sec in Case of the Hand Version. And it only costs 3 Points lol, while virtually beeing the same Trait (aka reducing cycle time for one round magazin weapons).
i think the problem is crackshot together with fast fingers, but mainly crackshot beeing completely busted which makes hitting enemies so fkn easy its unreal
Fast fingers was perfectly fine at 4 points. I didnt have a single moment where I thought it was overpowered or broken! (except for when you inspect springfield bayonet and the bullets arent in your fingers but are glued to the side of your gun instead lmao)
true, i loved going into games on fresh legendaries with the trait, but i dont really like going into games without resiliance in my trio group so i guess i wont be using it anymore.
I can kind of understand why they did it. I think they just wanted it out of the hands of fresh hunters. The benefit isn't worth 6 points; it's more about the traits you can't take alongside it at level 1. The way I see it is that single shot rifles have always been very strong without the trait. But now they can also be a little extra viably used at top meta. If you want to use Mosin to full extent, you need iron eye and bullet grubber. (3+4 = 7 points) If you want to use Sparks to full extent, you need fast fingers. (6 points) If you want to just win actually always right out of the gate, bring the Krag with iron eye (3 points... thanks, Crytek).
@@Mercurial_Me Why do you need bullet grubber with Mosin? The stripper clips make the trait near useless, why bother reloading 1-4 bullets with bullet grubber when shooting to 0 and using full reload is basically as fast. Iron eye is whatever as well, nice to have I agree.

Bulletgrubber is certainly not needed, but a lot of people, myself included, prefer to go into an engagement at full ammo than at 1 bullet knowing you’ll have to reload, even if it’s quick. It’s certainly not a mandatory trait, but I will waste bullets to be able to start a fight topped off, so not wasting them with a perk is a great boon in a drawn out fight between multiple teams. Granted, I’ll often bring a Bornheim to artificially “reduce” the cost by increasing ROI.
imo it was not levering that was the problem, it was the crackshot that made levering super strong. i am most of the time supportive of cryteks changes and ideas. i try to see the positive in things. but this really feels like changing the bucket the water drips into instead of fixing the leak
Same goes for Fast Fingers. Crack Shot is the problem in the equation here, as it affects ALL rifles, including sparks and springfield, so they also get very accurate in hip fire while doing a shit ton of dmg and shooting much faster than before.
I am using Fanning and levering alot. And IMO they needed a slight nerf. Since - if used correctly - they can be insanely strong. But rather than to make them more expensive, with the same powerlevel: Just slighty nerf the accuracy or ROF. But yes. Crackshot has to go. Nonesense trait.
I think a big issue with upping the cost of traits is somewhat irrelevent if you have lots of cash... you just burn 2 big bars +4 extra points and then go into the match with 2 Recovery shots, repeat each match getting +4 points for as long as you have cash... a lot of people have SO many HD that 440 on recovery shots is no big deal.
Making it up to 9 points means that you probably wont get the Shredder mid match, only after the server is clear and you looted enough pledge marks. However what that means is that if someone starts the match with a Shredder, you arent able to even out because you cant get a Shredder yourself anymore ^^ It feels like Crytek wanted to gatekeep the Shredder so it becomes a reward after a won match, so only the best player in the match gets it and not everybody runs around with it. Lets see if it works ^^
I totally agree on fixing firerate for the shredder. Like you could introduce the charging mechanism after every shot to slow it down and have it be slightly faster than a crossbow.
That's kind of how I thought it was going to be what it was announced. I wasn't even thinking about it having multiple ammo types to swap, was figuring the alternate fire button was going to be to pull the crank and prime the blade.
Fast fingers at 4 up was perfect. It only made Medicore weapons compete with Higer tier weapons but didnt overpower or overshadow them. And you needed a Hunter with UP to spend to even get it. That was a crap change.
As a person that has been playing for some years on Xbox and it recently has come to game pass I know there's quite a bit of new people trying it out I think the shredder nerve was much needed especially to hopefully not veer new players off and to keep wanting to continue to play the game. Definitely a win on the hot fix for the shredder

I'm shocked that made it through playtesting. I didn't even realize the retrieval did damage at first because it just seemed so natural that it shouldn't.
Stick a knive in Flesh and yank it out and see if the cut gets worse, not just draw it out slowly but with power and, because an Enemy is moving, but also in a different angle/direction.
I love Blademancer, but it IS too strong. If they cut the pullout damage in half, it might be more balanced. It would take two knives at medium distance where one hits torso, for example, to then use blademancer to finish them. Alternately, make the pullout take a tiny bit longer than the 'stop bleed' action so that there's a chance to pull the knife/bolt/arrow from your knee before it destroys you. Needs counterplay. I agree with OP.
The point about the frag blades dealing different amounts of damage depending on your accuracy doesn't really work. Since they are proximity based they will always explode when they are x meters away from you (or at least it would make sense for them to behave that way). That means you have to imagine a sphere around your target - each point of the sphere is exactly x meters away from the target and this is where the blades explode. That means no matter how accurate you are, they always have to deal the same amount of damage, because the distance from the explosion to the enemy is always the same. Unless your aim is completely off of course, in which case they don't explode at all.
From what I understand you can't really adjust the damage of explosive shredder according to the distance to the target because the blades explode as soon as they get in range, so always at max range therefore they always deal the same amount.
Weirdly enough, I just had 4 back to back bounty hunts that ended with 9 pledge marks. However, this was after the server was wiped (not by me or my team). So we couldn't have it for that game. But interesting regardless. Wonder how much of that is straight up luck

To be fair the marathon doesn't need any help to make it's hip fire lethal. It's always been very accurate and is nearly as fast as levering. The point you were making still stands though.
@@sebastiankortmann4689 There were hotfixes pretty regularly after big patches. usually 2 or 3. after fifield joined there was a huge difference in the time that crytek would deply fixes. there was definitely a change in the process focused more or delivering larger amounts of content overall with less agility.
I am glad to see the nerfs to levering and fast fingers. Hopefully its the first of many nerfs to rof spam. It would be better to actually nerf the rof or spread of these than to the cost of them but bandaids are okay if they plan to do additional changes later. Would have rather seen Blademancer nerfs than any of this stuff. Hopefully we see another hotfix.
Perk changes like these are pointless at this time. Every hunter that survives one match is already almost full on perks and all this does is give me way more points for refunding levering to allow something actually useful like a 3 point silent killer if I don't want to play any Winfield variant.

They should have increased the levering price even more, this asset ruins the game since it requires no skill. If they wanted to do things right they would have removed it from the game so that toxic players could gain some skill and learn how to play. For fast finger it's a shame indeed.

That’s the only change i didn’t like. Fast fingers should still be 4, whenever you swap weapons you should have to grab the rounds again instead of magically getting them back in your hand, and increase the speed of grabbing the rounds to balance this. Would also give the martini ironside a unique use when it’s added for the martini since the magazine stays loaded when you switch
Fast Fingers was dirt cheap. For the weapons it is used for, I think it's as powerful as fanning, especially if you consider special ammo options. Fast fingers and Fanning should both be 6 or 7 points.
I've barely been able to play the event yet because I've been working so much. Haven't had a chance to get the exploda-six-star and now I need 9 marks. Sadface. Great vid though.
my only gripe is that, okay it is 9 points to acquire Shredder instead of 5 but they did this when the "acquire 3 Shredders" weekly battle pass challenge was out, making it much harder to complete
I'm so happy it got nerfed. It was so broken that it was ruining the matches I was playing. This nerf is perfect and will hopefully encourage hunters to be more judicious with thier shots, rather than spamming explosives and going crazy.
Is it? You'll still die if your at medium range before you can even react. It's still boom, boom, boom you're dead before you can even get 2 shots off in fanning with the conversion.
I’m convinced most of y’all don’t play the game at this point. Out of dozens of games I’ve seen someone using a shredder less than 5 times. I play A LOT of hunt and the exaggerating of this is nuts. It’s really not common and fyi it’s supposed to be OP it’s literally an un-buyable event weapon. Pretty easy to counter too. I’ve actually encountered way more hand crossbow revive bolt spammers trolling with endless revives than anything else
@@OGBrotatoChip yeah ik but its dumb to die to it just like its dumb to die to a oneshot gun unless its a headshot in any hardcore extraction shooter. its probably more the fact its even in the game at its state is more infuriating and drives the complaints. like the revive bolts, you dont see them terribly often but when you do its so broken. love standing over a body that i killed to deny a revive and the other person can just take my hits and ignore me to insta revive his friend im standing on then i get one shot shotgunned.
This is CLASSIC CRYTEK, see an issue, go 2 MILES TOO FAR with any "fix", fix "issues" that were NOT THE ISSUE TO BEGIN WITH and then have to WALK BACK THE FIXES to get where they SHOULD have put them to begin with.
I do not like fast firing weapons in hunt. Fanning, levering and akimbo fall under that. Shredder has the same issue. It is fast fire rate. Also sharpshooter is the worse offender. Centenial levering has about the same spread with sharpshooter as normal winny without. On the plus side I'm actually happy Crytek are actually willing to do hotfixing.
I think there is a way to balance shredder for a permanent place... Probably scrap frag blades first of all. Then make it so you have to crank in between each shot Lower the velocity and 1 hit kill range. Possibly scrap the bounce or vastly lower the damage of the bounce attack... Only reason id want to do this is because i mean its a cool weapon but way op currently.
The blades Rev up should be slower, the spinning should need to be retained through pumping Maybe a 3% movement decrease when carrying And ofcourse slower animation in general
This is how I would have balanced the Shredder: -Get rid of the explosive blades -Slower rate of fire BUT -OHK range to the torso up to maybe 30m -Exception: damage done with rebounds -Cannot ressuply it mid game (but in that case no nerf to the ammo pool) -Weapon lost upon extraction The Shredder SHOULD be very strong since there's only one per match and you have to farm points before you can get it. But it should not be stupidly OP that you just spam left click and a whole team dies
i think crytek is going away from the ironsight to make it easier to merge PS und PC it will fail misserable... on that day i will drop hunt and will never look back an know a lot of people who will do the same

Still hoping we get a toned down version of the shredder as a standard weapon. -only loads two saws at a time instead of 5. Basically a double shot crossbow. -Standard Saws that ricochet but don't have the tracing effect. Can be retrieved with blademancer if it stays. -Frag Blades can probably stay as an alternate ammo type post nerfs and with the above that you can only load two. -Slight homing bounce blade. Both unable to be retrieved with bladeseer nor detected with bladeseer. Retrievable but much harder to find. I think it is absolutely possible to keep a sawblade crossbow around full time with changed like this. I thematically love the shredder but dont agree with tempory weapons or intentionally overtuned weapons being out into the game.
While I definitely agree with nerfing it, I think they overcorrected. If it's going to take me a full 9 pledge marks to grab it, I'd like it to be a little powerful again, I rarely have a full stock of them unless I just wiped a team solo (and even then sometime they were using fresh Hunters that didn't have any). I would've maybe kept it as 5 but given it lower fire rate and less splash (or make splash damage drop off), that way it's less oppressive but there's still incentive to go for it. I think 3-4 star lobbies are probably going to be pretty devoid of Shredder now because even before I didn't see it too much and not a lot of these players are running around with a full 9 pledge marks. And even if I am, is the Shredder worth more to me than Crack Shot/Corpse Seer and potentially getting Shadow/Shadow Leap from the Fifield Fortune Teller? Probably not anymore. The Levering price up worries me because that looks like a pre-emptive placation for the announcement that Crack Shot is staying in the game post-event. Once the event ends and Crack Shot goes away Levering isn't going to be an issue anymore because using it from too far is going to be more Looney Tunes clips than right now where it's oppressive in combination with Crack Shot. But if they're increasing the price of Levering it's almost like Crack Shot isn't temporary at all...
Crytek actually patching mid event is great! I think Fast Fingers should be at most 5 points. It's not as strong imo as levering/fanning (especially with the event trait)

idk if it works or not but the shredder... when u pick it up and u have to crank it u can inspect the weapon so it cansels the cranking animation and u can start shooting with it faster...
Just now watching some actual clips of this thing, do you not lose the saw blades that are still in the gun when you reload!? 14:40 when you reload it just plays the same animation: take the tray out and put a new one in and then TA-DA! Magically there’s three shots in the thing and you didn’t lose the saw that was still left. That is so disappointing. Hunts reload animations and mechanics have always been so good. One of the main ways to balance clip/magazine fed weapons was to force a decision to dump remaining ammo when doing partial reloads. And if there is an option to top off the weapon there is a very specific animation for it. Shit’s turning more and more into CoD as time goes on I swear.
Finally. Wonders DO happen and Crytek fixing stuff mid event is a huge wonder. Nice. I hope it's not the only fix if needed. For the trait changes: now make dual wielding a trait too. Maybe for 6-8 points. I would change the fire rate in general. All other one shot weapons like bow or crossbow have this time window where you can do something when they their shot. The shredder just keeps on firing until you are dead. There is no window. What I don't like that aquiring shredder is now a weekly which is an elite challenge and average plsyers will have a hard time getting the 1500 event points.

The "Game as a service" aspect is beginning to bite them in the butt. First they added so many weapons to the game that only differed slightly from each other, that every new weapon now would just be a copy of an existing one. Second they just gave every weapon every special ammo. Third they had to revert that with some half assed BS. And fourth they had to add a self ranging, air burst grenade launcher without bullet drop and overpowered COD-style perks that have the potential to turn over the complete meta of the game that they worked on for five years or so. That combined with their incredible reluctance to revert changes completely (instead they prefer to patch the whole game around a new mechanic just to keep it in the game) is only going to produce more problems in the future. I think that is the main lesson that should be learned from this event
The shredder would be cool perfectly as is, maybe a lower firerate, until someone at Crytek was like 'splosive, ja ja!' it does not belong on the gun, and it does not even make sense?
I do wish hunt had beta servers for partners, even if it was a few days before release. Streamers know when something is busted almost immediately. They have free testers available 247 and don't choose to use them. And whoever is in charge of balance seems really stubborn by refusing to fix clearly broken things without massive backlash.
the game always had potential and still does. the underlying issue is the developers are running out of "ideas" so anything thrown in to the basket for some reason without getting tested in the test servers, simply gets thrown in to the live game only for it to shoot its own foot. But thankful nonetheless that nerfs are happening. I am increasingly noticing a steady rise in power creep with weapons. Next event we are bound to receive a dual wield crossbow, right after that we will receive another special ammo for shotguns that throw explosive rounds, next is going to be a melee weapon attached to a chain that has 3-4x the range of normal melee weapons. You get the idea.

My changes would have been the following: Remove proxi entirely, make it work like frag arrows with simmilar damage / make it start fusing on first bounce OR make bulwark work vs it and keep proxi Also i think nerfing levering is dumb, it should not work with crackshot entirely in my opinion. Getting accurately levered from 50m or levering people from 50m just doesnt feel good, just feels unskilled and cheesy IMO the fix would be to remove crackshot from the game and make something else, its just toxic, espeically with how balanced blademancer already is with crossbow etc.

Glad they dropped a hotfix. This event has had some of the most toxic gameplay ive seen in a while, i hope it isn't scaring off new players trying it out on game pass (it is)
They are going to need to hotfix the game again anyway. There is a bug right now where if you pick up the gun of someone who has fast fingers you can fire it twice without reloading. We’ll see if they make any other changes (I am looking at you Blademancer).
In all honesty I feel fast finger doesn’t feel much faster I tested it with and with out using a timer without the trait it’s like a 4 second and with the trait it was like 3 seconds I could be wrong but
the frag bombs are proximatey based. there canot be falloff with them casue they explode the moment anyone is within the max radius. if they added fallouf you would always take the minimum damage. if you shoot it stirght at their face. if teh radius is 2 m. as soon as it is 2m away it will explod and do dmg. it cannot get any closer to deal more dmg :) unless the detonation and blas radius are different? then you might take reduces spalsh dmg say if you are next to an ally adn they detonate the proximaty but you are caught ih teh splash
I get more kills with dualies at 20+ meters vs anything less. Also this being a hot fix I feel like huges comment about someone messing up the 800ms trade window to 75ms, and making it 750 is plausible. Crytek wouldnt mention that embarrassment tho
I don't like the Fast Fingers nerf. If they added it to the Martini and Maynard it's an easier pill to swallow, but if not yet. Not a fan. 4-5 points is probably fine once all single shot rifles get it.
When the community is actively thinking of balancing the game better, that means game is seriously unbalanced. Shredder should have been centennial bleed tempo. I was completely sure of this before the event and then... they said it does 150 dmg :D
I think the change to fast fingers is a bit too much. The change to levering is silly, levering isn't an issue the event perk is. Levering will have a 0% pick rate after the event.

I think a big issue with upping the cost of traits is somewhat irrelevent if you have lots of cash... you just burn 2 big bars +4 extra points and then go into the match with 2 Recovery shots, repeat each match getting +4 points for as long as you have cash... a lot of people have SO many HD that 440 on recovery shots is no big deal.
Oh I didn't even consider that being possible with recovery shots...

Making it up to 9 points means that you probably wont get the Shredder mid match, only after the server is clear and you looted enough pledge marks. However what that means is that if someone starts the match with a Shredder, you arent able to even out because you cant get a Shredder yourself anymore ^^
It feels like Crytek wanted to gatekeep the Shredder so it becomes a reward after a won match, so only the best player in the match gets it and not everybody runs around with it. Lets see if it works ^^
I totally agree on fixing firerate for the shredder. Like you could introduce the charging mechanism after every shot to slow it down and have it be slightly faster than a crossbow.
That's kind of how I thought it was going to be what it was announced. I wasn't even thinking about it having multiple ammo types to swap, was figuring the alternate fire button was going to be to pull the crank and prime the blade.
Fast fingers at 4 up was perfect. It only made Medicore weapons compete with Higer tier weapons but didnt overpower or overshadow them. And you needed a Hunter with UP to spend to even get it. That was a crap change.

As a person that has been playing for some years on Xbox and it recently has come to game pass I know there's quite a bit of new people trying it out I think the shredder nerve was much needed especially to hopefully not veer new players off and to keep wanting to continue to play the game. Definitely a win on the hot fix for the shredder
People are hyped because Crytek released a HOTFIX lol. No matter how senseless the fixes are.
When this event is over I'll be happy that the weapon won't be available anymore. it's a nice addition but not a good permanent one.
Next event we are going to get the BFG9000.

I'm shocked that made it through playtesting. I didn't even realize the retrieval did damage at first because it just seemed so natural that it shouldn't.
Stick a knive in Flesh and yank it out and see if the cut gets worse, not just draw it out slowly but with power and, because an Enemy is moving, but also in a different angle/direction.

I love Blademancer, but it IS too strong. If they cut the pullout damage in half, it might be more balanced. It would take two knives at medium distance where one hits torso, for example, to then use blademancer to finish them. Alternately, make the pullout take a tiny bit longer than the 'stop bleed' action so that there's a chance to pull the knife/bolt/arrow from your knee before it destroys you. Needs counterplay. I agree with OP.
The point about the frag blades dealing different amounts of damage depending on your accuracy doesn't really work. Since they are proximity based they will always explode when they are x meters away from you (or at least it would make sense for them to behave that way). That means you have to imagine a sphere around your target - each point of the sphere is exactly x meters away from the target and this is where the blades explode. That means no matter how accurate you are, they always have to deal the same amount of damage, because the distance from the explosion to the enemy is always the same. Unless your aim is completely off of course, in which case they don't explode at all.
From what I understand you can't really adjust the damage of explosive shredder according to the distance to the target because the blades explode as soon as they get in range, so always at max range therefore they always deal the same amount.

Weirdly enough, I just had 4 back to back bounty hunts that ended with 9 pledge marks. However, this was after the server was wiped (not by me or my team). So we couldn't have it for that game. But interesting regardless. Wonder how much of that is straight up luck
Honestly, props to Crytek for hot fixing and issue. Hopefully, this will become a habit. I'm upset about the Fast Fingers trait cost increase, though...
To be fair the marathon doesn't need any help to make it's hip fire lethal. It's always been very accurate and is nearly as fast as levering. The point you were making still stands though.

@@sebastiankortmann4689 There were hotfixes pretty regularly after big patches. usually 2 or 3. after fifield joined there was a huge difference in the time that crytek would deply fixes. there was definitely a change in the process focused more or delivering larger amounts of content overall with less agility.

I am glad to see the nerfs to levering and fast fingers. Hopefully its the first of many nerfs to rof spam. It would be better to actually nerf the rof or spread of these than to the cost of them but bandaids are okay if they plan to do additional changes later.
Would have rather seen Blademancer nerfs than any of this stuff. Hopefully we see another hotfix.
Perk changes like these are pointless at this time. Every hunter that survives one match is already almost full on perks and all this does is give me way more points for refunding levering to allow something actually useful like a 3 point silent killer if I don't want to play any Winfield variant.

They should have increased the levering price even more, this asset ruins the game since it requires no skill. If they wanted to do things right they would have removed it from the game so that toxic players could gain some skill and learn how to play. For fast finger it's a shame indeed.

That’s the only change i didn’t like. Fast fingers should still be 4, whenever you swap weapons you should have to grab the rounds again instead of magically getting them back in your hand, and increase the speed of grabbing the rounds to balance this. Would also give the martini ironside a unique use when it’s added for the martini since the magazine stays loaded when you switch
Fast Fingers was dirt cheap. For the weapons it is used for, I think it's as powerful as fanning, especially if you consider special ammo options. Fast fingers and Fanning should both be 6 or 7 points.

I've barely been able to play the event yet because I've been working so much. Haven't had a chance to get the exploda-six-star and now I need 9 marks. Sadface. Great vid though.
my only gripe is that, okay it is 9 points to acquire Shredder instead of 5 but they did this when the "acquire 3 Shredders" weekly battle pass challenge was out, making it much harder to complete
I'm so happy it got nerfed. It was so broken that it was ruining the matches I was playing. This nerf is perfect and will hopefully encourage hunters to be more judicious with thier shots, rather than spamming explosives and going crazy.
Is it? You'll still die if your at medium range before you can even react. It's still boom, boom, boom you're dead before you can even get 2 shots off in fanning with the conversion.
I’m convinced most of y’all don’t play the game at this point. Out of dozens of games I’ve seen someone using a shredder less than 5 times. I play A LOT of hunt and the exaggerating of this is nuts. It’s really not common and fyi it’s supposed to be OP it’s literally an un-buyable event weapon. Pretty easy to counter too. I’ve actually encountered way more hand crossbow revive bolt spammers trolling with endless revives than anything else
@@OGBrotatoChip yeah ik but its dumb to die to it just like its dumb to die to a oneshot gun unless its a headshot in any hardcore extraction shooter. its probably more the fact its even in the game at its state is more infuriating and drives the complaints. like the revive bolts, you dont see them terribly often but when you do its so broken. love standing over a body that i killed to deny a revive and the other person can just take my hits and ignore me to insta revive his friend im standing on then i get one shot shotgunned.

This is CLASSIC CRYTEK, see an issue, go 2 MILES TOO FAR with any "fix", fix "issues" that were NOT THE ISSUE TO BEGIN WITH and then have to WALK BACK THE FIXES to get where they SHOULD have put them to begin with.
I do not like fast firing weapons in hunt. Fanning, levering and akimbo fall under that. Shredder has the same issue. It is fast fire rate.
Also sharpshooter is the worse offender. Centenial levering has about the same spread with sharpshooter as normal winny without.
On the plus side I'm actually happy Crytek are actually willing to do hotfixing.
I think fast firing should be more for wall bangs.

I think there is a way to balance shredder for a permanent place...
Probably scrap frag blades first of all.
Then make it so you have to crank in between each shot
Lower the velocity and 1 hit kill range.
Possibly scrap the bounce or vastly lower the damage of the bounce attack...
Only reason id want to do this is because i mean its a cool weapon but way op currently.
The blades Rev up should be slower, the spinning should need to be retained through pumping
Maybe a 3% movement decrease when carrying
And ofcourse slower animation in general
9 pledge marks for the shredder...and a weekly challenge to get that thing 3 times. That kinda sucks.
This is how I would have balanced the Shredder:
-Get rid of the explosive blades
-Slower rate of fire BUT
-OHK range to the torso up to maybe 30m
-Exception: damage done with rebounds
-Cannot ressuply it mid game (but in that case no nerf to the ammo pool)
-Weapon lost upon extraction
The Shredder SHOULD be very strong since there's only one per match and you have to farm points before you can get it. But it should not be stupidly OP that you just spam left click and a whole team dies

Still hoping we get a toned down version of the shredder as a standard weapon.
-only loads two saws at a time instead of 5. Basically a double shot crossbow.
-Standard Saws that ricochet but don't have the tracing effect. Can be retrieved with blademancer if it stays.
-Frag Blades can probably stay as an alternate ammo type post nerfs and with the above that you can only load two.
-Slight homing bounce blade. Both unable to be retrieved with bladeseer nor detected with bladeseer. Retrievable but much harder to find.
I think it is absolutely possible to keep a sawblade crossbow around full time with changed like this. I thematically love the shredder but dont agree with tempory weapons or intentionally overtuned weapons being out into the game.

While I definitely agree with nerfing it, I think they overcorrected. If it's going to take me a full 9 pledge marks to grab it, I'd like it to be a little powerful again, I rarely have a full stock of them unless I just wiped a team solo (and even then sometime they were using fresh Hunters that didn't have any). I would've maybe kept it as 5 but given it lower fire rate and less splash (or make splash damage drop off), that way it's less oppressive but there's still incentive to go for it. I think 3-4 star lobbies are probably going to be pretty devoid of Shredder now because even before I didn't see it too much and not a lot of these players are running around with a full 9 pledge marks. And even if I am, is the Shredder worth more to me than Crack Shot/Corpse Seer and potentially getting Shadow/Shadow Leap from the Fifield Fortune Teller? Probably not anymore.
The Levering price up worries me because that looks like a pre-emptive placation for the announcement that Crack Shot is staying in the game post-event. Once the event ends and Crack Shot goes away Levering isn't going to be an issue anymore because using it from too far is going to be more Looney Tunes clips than right now where it's oppressive in combination with Crack Shot. But if they're increasing the price of Levering it's almost like Crack Shot isn't temporary at all...
The Shedder should be a single ammo type only, and frag blades should have been a "find in round" custom ammo type and swapped for regular blades.
Increase the cost of the shredder then give a weekly to get it 3 times, i am happy they are being active during an event but that was a dick move

Crytek actually patching mid event is great! I think Fast Fingers should be at most 5 points. It's not as strong imo as levering/fanning (especially with the event trait)

idk if it works or not but the shredder... when u pick it up and u have to crank it u can inspect the weapon so it cansels the cranking animation and u can start shooting with it faster...
Just now watching some actual clips of this thing, do you not lose the saw blades that are still in the gun when you reload!? 14:40 when you reload it just plays the same animation: take the tray out and put a new one in and then TA-DA! Magically there’s three shots in the thing and you didn’t lose the saw that was still left. That is so disappointing. Hunts reload animations and mechanics have always been so good.
One of the main ways to balance clip/magazine fed weapons was to force a decision to dump remaining ammo when doing partial reloads. And if there is an option to top off the weapon there is a very specific animation for it.
Shit’s turning more and more into CoD as time goes on I swear.

For the trait changes: now make dual wielding a trait too. Maybe for 6-8 points.
I would change the fire rate in general. All other one shot weapons like bow or crossbow have this time window where you can do something when they their shot. The shredder just keeps on firing until you are dead. There is no window.
What I don't like that aquiring shredder is now a weekly which is an elite challenge and average plsyers will have a hard time getting the 1500 event points.

The "Game as a service" aspect is beginning to bite them in the butt. First they added so many weapons to the game that only differed slightly from each other, that every new weapon now would just be a copy of an existing one. Second they just gave every weapon every special ammo. Third they had to revert that with some half assed BS. And fourth they had to add a self ranging, air burst grenade launcher without bullet drop and overpowered COD-style perks that have the potential to turn over the complete meta of the game that they worked on for five years or so.
That combined with their incredible reluctance to revert changes completely (instead they prefer to patch the whole game around a new mechanic just to keep it in the game) is only going to produce more problems in the future.
I think that is the main lesson that should be learned from this event
The shredder would be cool perfectly as is, maybe a lower firerate, until someone at Crytek was like 'splosive, ja ja!' it does not belong on the gun, and it does not even make sense?
I do wish hunt had beta servers for partners, even if it was a few days before release. Streamers know when something is busted almost immediately. They have free testers available 247 and don't choose to use them. And whoever is in charge of balance seems really stubborn by refusing to fix clearly broken things without massive backlash.
They need to fix frame drops on melee :( had this bug since the start of the event

the game always had potential and still does. the underlying issue is the developers are running out of "ideas" so anything thrown in to the basket for some reason without getting tested in the test servers, simply gets thrown in to the live game only for it to shoot its own foot.
But thankful nonetheless that nerfs are happening. I am increasingly noticing a steady rise in power creep with weapons. Next event we are bound to receive a dual wield crossbow, right after that we will receive another special ammo for shotguns that throw explosive rounds, next is going to be a melee weapon attached to a chain that has 3-4x the range of normal melee weapons. You get the idea.

My changes would have been the following:
Remove proxi entirely, make it work like frag arrows with simmilar damage / make it start fusing on first bounce OR make bulwark work vs it and keep proxi
Also i think nerfing levering is dumb, it should not work with crackshot entirely in my opinion. Getting accurately levered from 50m or levering people from 50m just doesnt feel good, just feels unskilled and cheesy
IMO the fix would be to remove crackshot from the game and make something else, its just toxic, espeically with how balanced blademancer already is with crossbow etc.

They are going to need to hotfix the game again anyway. There is a bug right now where if you pick up the gun of someone who has fast fingers you can fire it twice without reloading. We’ll see if they make any other changes (I am looking at you Blademancer).
It has 0 recoil. An easy fix is just making it kick like Nitro, no need to lower the rof when each shot makes you stare at the sky.
In all honesty I feel fast finger doesn’t feel much faster I tested it with and with out using a timer without the trait it’s like a 4 second and with the trait it was like 3 seconds I could be wrong but
the frag bombs are proximatey based. there canot be falloff with them casue they explode the moment anyone is within the max radius. if they added fallouf you would always take the minimum damage. if you shoot it stirght at their face. if teh radius is 2 m. as soon as it is 2m away it will explod and do dmg. it cannot get any closer to deal more dmg :) unless the detonation and blas radius are different? then you might take reduces spalsh dmg say if you are next to an ally adn they detonate the proximaty but you are caught ih teh splash
I get more kills with dualies at 20+ meters vs anything less. Also this being a hot fix I feel like huges comment about someone messing up the 800ms trade window to 75ms, and making it 750 is plausible. Crytek wouldnt mention that embarrassment tho

I don't like the Fast Fingers nerf. If they added it to the Martini and Maynard it's an easier pill to swallow, but if not yet. Not a fan. 4-5 points is probably fine once all single shot rifles get it.
When the community is actively thinking of balancing the game better, that means game is seriously unbalanced.
Shredder should have been centennial bleed tempo. I was completely sure of this before the event and then... they said it does 150 dmg :D
I think the change to fast fingers is a bit too much. The change to levering is silly, levering isn't an issue the event perk is. Levering will have a 0% pick rate after the event.
I never use this trait anyway so now if i get a levering fanning hunter, i will have 13 points for free. i love this levering buff
With that price increase I don't think you'll get both on a fresh hunter
