Very cool and clever but after seeing this, I'll continue to use the screwdriver for my quick release! Great video tho!
Hi does this work with the Ferrari 458 steering wheel for Xbox one
Wonderful QUIET !
This is gold
Bro u are a F genious. Thanks a lot for share
Are you still using the f430 trustmaster?
what do you mean by every stock wheel has the threaded mount. is that for every wheel thrustmaster made.
Every that supports add-on wheel system (t500, t300, txrw, ts-pc, tx-sw, ...). Others like tmx, t150 don't have a threaded piece, but there are adapters CAD models for 3d printing on thingiverse.
Oh man you are really my salvation. I'm buying on ebay a srws1 for my t300 and I needed a tutorial like this. All the buttons are working on modern sims?
Ah, it was quite a while ago. SRW-S1 works just as any other USB joystick - Windows detects it as multi-button, multi-axis controller. You can attach axis and buttons in game as you like then.
mispeaced if you use it like you do, the steering input is from the base I hope, and you turn off the motion sensor of the SRW-1
@@jortterbeek7137 of course , the gyroscope sucks
+joedeath323 +digger racing Ouch, missed your comments :) Pretty sure you've already figured that out - threaded mount is bolted from inside of the rim with 3 M5 screws. You need to teardown the rim to unscrew them.
You sir are a hero :D
+leo well Hola! I only have a Thrustmaster TXRW wheelbase. Nothing is impossible, for sure you can attach that to Logitech wheels as well!
Wish i could find one of these...must not produce them anymore
Will this work on a thrustmaster t80?
I believe no - t80 doesn't have a threaded mount (and doesn't support thrustmaster add-on wheels). Tip - search thingiverse for "thrustmaster" keyword - there are bunch of adapters, may be you'll find something that fits (and check adapters for T150 / TMX)
@@mispeaced thank you for responding! And I'll do some research and see what I can find
@@dbe_interview have u found anything?
Thank you I used the first template to make an adapter for a real wheel I saved myself 40 bucks from doing this thanks
You're welcome! There are also free models for 3D printing now - see the links in the comments below. It's possible to 3D-print exact copy of threaded piece, with 6 holes for race wheel.
Is it possible to mod the t150 wheel this way?
Hey! As far as I know, T150 and TMX doesn't have interchangeable rims - they even ship in the box fully assembled (wheelbase + rim as one solid piece). So you'll need to figure out how it's assembled together, how to take it apart, and how to make a proper adapter. I think it must be possible, just differs from T500RS/T300RS/TXRW wheels, where we have interchangeable rims and a threaded mount piece.
Can you not bolt the wheel directly to the steering wheel using the three bolt holes or is the pattern different? Lets say if you didnt want to go with the quick release.
One more option is 3D-printing a threaded piece for thrustmaster and mounting your steering wheel on it - see www.thingiverse.com/search?q=thrustmaster+adapter
All this is going to do is fuck up your servo base. Extra weight and extended out more then designed. All because people are to lazy for 1 screw and a twist.
All your work is amazing. Thank you. Do you plan on hacking the SRW S1? Regards
Thanks for the comment! SRW S1 is a nice controller as is. No plans for modding that.
@@mispeaced I explainned wrong. I was referring to reading the firmware, to be able to use it to make other steering wheel, with the functions of the SRW. Regards
@@mispeaced Sorry, sorry and sorry. I thought the SWR was a thrustmaster wheel. I said nothing! 😂
+Shot In The Dark what screws did you unscrew to undo the threaded mount from the ferrari tx wheel
I know it's an old video but can you please take a minute to tell me how you opened the F458 Italia wheel? I removed the screws on the back but it won't come apart and I don't want to break it. Thanks.
If you mean F458 steering rim (not the TX wheelbase) - it has 15 screws on the back (8 perimeter, 2 under shifters, 5 on central part - deep inside). One more thing - pull the plastic Manettino - it also holds two pieces of the wheel together.
As you noticed, this is an old video. May be it's easier to 3D print an adapter for Thrustmaster. Simply search Thingiverse for "trustmaster" keyword.
@@mispeaced thanks very much, I think I am just being too gentle, but I did forget about the small switch. I'll be a bit braver and hopefully pull the two pieces apart :)
@@mispeaced Thanks, didn't so much want to mod it, but I'm thinking of covering the silver part in Carbon fibre vinyl and I think it might be a neater job if I can take it apart first.

So, I'm in the process of generating G-code to make these adapters, do you want to share them after I'm done or should i put them up on Thingiverse instead
Hey, that's great! Just upload to Thingiverse and I'll update video description with your links.
Where I can find all the parts? Please
Hi mispeaced, I was wondering what quick release adapter you used. thanks
Search on ebay - 'slim quick release adapter'. There's no brand name on it.
Ok thanks
ebay.com
Will this work?
Looks like the one I have.
Ok thanks man
Hi, what is that replacement wheel you bought. Can you give me the name? It looks like the one I would like to buy. Also is it 32cm? Thanks.
Hi, search on eBay - 'HONDA 320MM BLACK RED STITCHING STEERING WHEEL'. Yep, 32cm. Also (as for me), stitching and leather feels quite hard - so if you drive a lot, you'd better drive in gloves.
Thanks!
Right bodge up
complimenti!
why not use the ps / 2 connector Original ?? and paste coin
PS/2 (mini-din 6 male) will work just OK.
In my case I also wanted to have a front usb (need extra 3 wires - +5V, USB D+, USB D-).
OK thanks
do you have an image or a tutorial that shows how to adapt the 6 pin plug with this QR please?
ola amigo, tem como fazer no G27?
can you do the same with a driving force gt?
It's a Thrustmaster wheel in my video. DF GT is made by Logitech, I think it is slightly different, so it will need different adapters. But nothing is impossible :)
ottimo....
i would like to know this as well please! :)
f1 wheel link??
It's "Steelseries SRW-S1 simraceway USB controller". Actually it has a gyro-sensor inside, so i even doesn't need a wheelbase to work.
you should have bought fanatec
why cant you talk?
Dose this work on a trustmaster f458
If you mean "Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Racing Wheel for Xbox 360", then I believe it doesn't have a threaded mount piece and interchangeable rims.
