Eh i doubt this is real. Especially the last "war begins anew" part, because the mercs/mann brothers didnt fight over Australium, but over gravel/domination. And the cosmic entity is literally just a reskinned Gman. He even repeats his actions from opposing froce (activating a nuke)
Imo I like the idea of the war never ending but I agree it wouldn’t be over Australium.
Perhaps Saxton and Darling end up trying to take the now ownerless land for themselves which leads them to hire the mercs for another endless war in the badlands
Thats something I didn't realise until you pointed it out. If it were real, than it would be odd for valve to reuse a minor plot point in a old half life expansion to conclude the tf2 comics, it doesn't seem like they would so maybe this is point to consider whether the person allegdy read the plans for the 7th comic are real or not.
Now I actually like the theory MORE, imagining that the entity literally IS the same type of being as Gman, but while Gman chooses to follow Gordon and those events, this one decided to get involved in the TF2 wars.
Even if it's necessary due to the mercs being killers, it's quite sad to imagine them all dying in such a sad way due to some asshole that got introduced at the last second. The best ending would have had the mercs somehow inconveniencing that being.
Man I guess their lives are at Marasmus' hands or at the hell where they will fight for eternity some halloween sh*t 😂
Considering how it is apparently implied that the update corresponding with the finale of the comics being released was to have at least one map taking place in space, plus an actual update later on being about literal aliens invading, I can just assume they found some bs way to get themselves into space before the missiles landed; continuing their perpetual warfare for eternities to come.
@@christiancinnabars1402 Yes and Ill adopt that as My Cannon
And Medic is supposed to live for 50+ more years according to his deal with Satan
@@christiancinnabars1402 the invasion update was community made though . .
I agree with the leaker, the whole "Ha ha fuck you everyone dies" is a really underwhelming ending, especially for the comic introduced characters.
I think the "leaker" made it up. This is 4chan, after all.
I mean. The leaker could have made it all up.
@@linhero797 It's some rando on 4chan, it's very doubtful that it's real. Another comment also points out a number of plot holes and illogical bits. Like, would Valve actually have it be "some evil thing that looks like Lincoln"? Nah, they'd have the actual Abraham Lincoln, the original Pyro, 16th president of the United States.
@@spooky6703 I know. I am fully aware of the flaws, many of which I saw myself. My remark was sarcastic. Anyone with even a single glance over of the previous comics can find the major flaws and I even contributed a few myself.
I really do not think this leak is real.
But the story contradicts Scout's death date? He should be alive at least a few more decades according to lore.
and medics deal with the devil says to give him 50 more years of life
died of radiation poisening maybe?
Good catch. Chapter 6 had a lot of "death" scenes showing the mercs' time to die hasn't arrived yet so seeing it happen again canonically on the same day would be really dumb
Who's to say scout wasn't hallucinating?
@@yacabo111 Tom jones appears in heaven and god try’s to distract scout from it in order to prevent scout from learning spy is his father. I think it’s safe to say it wasn’t a hallucination.
The only unrealistic thing about that greentext was that Saxton Hale would have 100% stopped the nukes SOMEHOW, with the whole ordeal ending up as another Hale's comic.
He woulda punched the nuked to space cause he’s that much of a fucking badass
@@jackygemme863For some reason, that reminded me of a Segata Sanshiro commercial....
Like, he guided a missile headed for Sega into space. And then dying having saved everyone.
Heck, Saxton could have done some self sacrifice thing to stop the nukes.
And then it kills Sniper's mom or something
NUKE PUNCH
Now that's the canon ending in my mind.
I really did like the comics, it was a really nice way to get invested in the lore of a great game. It’s just such a shame, it never got a proper final.

I have to admit, the idea of Scout giving the title of the CEO of the Tom Jones Memorial Museum to Saxton so he can beat someone up is a genius idea
Fun fact: The ending described by the 4chan user contradicts a previous statement in the comics.
God himself tells Scout that he's going to die on the 4th of December of 1987, not when the missiles are launched.
whose to say scout survived the nukes in agonizing pain, unable to do anything, until the 4th of december 1987
he bonks at the last possible second, duh
@@HarmonyParukothen god would smite all women and their wouldn't be cave men. Scout canonically must fuck every woman on earth
I didn't like that ending. It fits TF2's sense of humor, but I don't like the idea of reseting everything and losing our beloved mercenaries :(
Doesn't even fully fit the usual TF2 wackiness though. "Eldritch creature in form of Abraham Lincoln" doesn't feel like something that would be canon. What would be canon is if if was the real Lincoln for some reason! Or Olivia being related to Daring, which is just some cheap bollywood plot twist...
I mean, they had no qualms about killing off the TFC mercs. Probably didn't sit well with Team Fortress veterans who still prefer TFC over TF2

Honestly, that 4chan post seems unlikely to me. The first half, with Hale getting his company back - yeah, that seems like how the TF2 universe works. But the second half... doesn't make any sense. Why would the Administrator become young just to chat with a ghost-like Abe? Why it ghost-abe launch the missiles when minutes before it was stated he'd get blown to kingdom come as well, and hence LOSE pretty much everything? Also, suddenly a lot more swearing in that part of the story.
Honestly, due to the second half, I'd say it's made-up and not the actual script, at least for the second half.
I swear if this blows and reached to the writers and artist we might get a confirmation or they will finally remember.
It has to be fake. No way the story ends with "Haha legalize nuclear bombs" from some random ass cosmic entity and then a weird gross age gapped as fuck kiss between the Admin and Pauling? Some sort of odd fanfiction.

To be honest, the sandvich saga is, in spirit, probably THE final TF2 comic.
"Decades later, the mercs reunite to go hunt for the perfect snack."
@@AlliroG98Now retired, they scour the modern Earth to find the coveted Sandvich. Unfortunately, Soldier - too busy making war medals for all 8 billion people on Earth - is unable to help.
I feel like the events of that take place after the comics....
Like, the Admin seems... not all there in this story line. Saying only her match lines. Perhaps a side effect of what happens to her in the comic finale?
I dunno. It's simply a headcanon.
@@whoisanarnbAnd by doing that, he is in a loop, making medals every 5 seconds, but every 1 second a new person is born.
Honestly the perfect end
The blood debt thing seems to imply the Pauling purgatory was an actual thing that happened. Which I’m not sure I follow.
The comic ends on the note of Admin wanting something since she was a child, and I doubt it’s blood or power. She clearly never got the power she wanted and I don’t get why she had to turn herself young just to turn on some missiles to die instantly after. It doesn’t make any sense, how does this wrap up all the set up happy endings for the mercs. Heavy was supposed to move away from Siberia with his family, scout is supposed to meet god again and his Tom Jones memorabilia would be worth a fortune now, sniper can find peace and probably hunt down his traitorous dad with a well placed bullet doing what he loves, soldier gets married and settles down, spy will probably see scouts mom again, etc. It feels like a complete waste killing off the mercs after they apparently successfully stopped the nukes like 3 times after a heartfelt gathering (even though this situation literally happened before and none of them actually wanted to say goodbye to eachother).
Yeah, like how they are able to get what they need after working with Mann Co. And I think that this is a much better perspective to look forward to. I doubt that this is the legit draft they made, or perhaps too good to be true, I don't know, but seeing all of the characters died after that seems too sudden
As much as I like the wacky concept of this ending, I read the comics for the mercs who were often pushed aside in the narrative to allow for Saxton, the Mann Brothers, ect to be the main players. Not saying I didn't enjoy that, but it was always nice to get moments between actual characters from the game since they're the most beloved. Also I've always wanted the comic to end with them all fighting the Administrator in a huge boss fight (perhaps a game mode could feature this idk) and once they've won and saved the earth, Soldier and Zhanna get married and it ends on that chaotic note.
i mean those characters have pretty much no appearances outside of the comics so its understandable
As much as I like the idea, I don't think the Mercs would go against the administrator if Pauline falls in line with her. I mean, they followed the Admin's orders up to that point, and if they manage to make bank with her, all the more reason for them to not turn against her all of a sudden. Like Pauline said "I want to see where this all ends with her."
Personally, if THAT'S how it was supposed to end, yeah, I'm glad where we are.
The potential Half-life connection (as the entity feels a lot like G-man) is nice but the world just ending is such an annoying and extremely underwhelming ending.
Like, all your favourite characters are dead, it's a wrap up. That... just feels so anticlimactic. The final panel of cavemen being enhanced with australium and fighting each other is nice but it leaves a very sour taste of seeing all the characters just die.
Honestly, if the entity was G-man would be a crazy tie in to half life, bringing portal, tf2, and half life all together in one universe. Could only imagine all the stuff they could've done if they went with that route but we probably would never know.
Funnily enough, the exact same thing can be said for HL2 with Epistle 3. It was a complete shittake of an ending that would have pissed off most of the fanbase if it went through.
I can't help but wonder if both it and this ending were truly supposed to be, and the actual reason we didn't get either is because someone at Valve stepped in in both circumstances and said "Yeah this is ass, we're not doing it." and then the creatives in question got salty and quit over it. The timelines would match up in both circumstances.
Its not even required!
You could just have a happy/neutral ending and then someone says something along the lines of "The gravel wars are finally over."
Abd then we cut to 2.000 years in the future where the rocket thing plays out
@@meccanizerbut the half-life universe takes place after the events of TF2 though so that would really be complicated I don't know maybe some TF2 logic making the universe just teleport back to how it would be if the mercenaries never existed or something
@@bearelroll985 Makes sense in my head, gman is searching for candidates before meeting Gordon. Meets the administrator and makes a deal with her, probably relating to australium.
In the 6th comics Scout dies and there Is a date were he is meant to die again (December 4th 1987) but TF2 takes place in the 60-70s If that is the case then him dying before that in the comics is a little strange to believe.
An almost kiss between Pauling and the Admin but nothing of the sort between Heavy and Medic? Completely unbelievable. Great video.
to be fair they got all that out in the second to last comic
Medic supposedly has a wife though, probably ex wife. Granted, he could be bi
The idea of the Administrator and Ms Pauling wanting to kiss, sounds like somebody's fanfic parody shitpost. There's no way they'd put something like that in the actual comic. That was where I stopped believing the greentext post.
@@DogDogGodFog Why not? I don't see what's off with that, we know nothing about their sexuality and very little about their relationship, other than that Ms. Pauling has huge amounts of trust in the Administrator, while the Administrator sets up deadly ambushes for her which is part of her employee evaluation program, so apparently she's not giving her any special treatment. And I believe Ms. Pauling is the only employee who is allowed in the Administrator's lair as she's her right hand. But that's about it
The authors, or I think specifically Jay Pinkerton, not Erik Wolpaw, confirmed that they envisioned the character as lesbian when they invented her. For whatever reason, no idea what relevance this has, but it could have been an idea they got from Smithers and Mr. Burns
@@Thornskade It's not the orientation that weird me out. It's the fact that it's the ADMINISTRATOR and MS PAULING. Like come on. I have no idea who in their right mind would envision their relationship as romantic, let alone sexual.
Good rundown. My only gripes with the "leaked story" are 1) I'm not a fan of "the apocalypse happens and everyone dies" endings, but of course that's just preference, and 2) "the timer restarts... they break the panel, but the rockets launch anyway" is cheap as hell and has NO explanation behind it, so it feels like the biggest plot hole in this supposed script. Of course we're reading the general outline and not the comic itself so maybe it could be justified, but without details it feels like bad writing and a cop-out to me. Maybe I'm just too attached to these characters and don't want to feel bad if even one of them canonically dies!
i dont want them to die either
It's a random post on 4Chan. It contradicts many things like when medic and scout will die. It's for sure not canon
What would make this ending even more fitting would be if Pyro was still alive and with the red cavemen, that would make the mystery of who or what he is even bigger
really wanted more tf2 sfms made by valve
I literally red every single comic in one sitting and the Result is that my throat was drier Than the Sahara Desert
Stay hydrated lil bro ✌️
Jay Pinkerton: laughs in comic teasers
The one thing that stands out to me that _might_ lend credence to the greentext leak is the fact that the Administrator's motivation is specifically a pact for blood. After all, what does the Admin say in Ms. Pauling's near-death experience when asked what she wanted?
"Blood. I need more blood."
Kind of a non-sequitur in the moment, but if the greentext leak is legit, it would be a nice bit of foreshadowing.
I thought that the Administer saying she needed more blood was just Pauling hearing Medics voice in her vision/dream/whatever, since Medic needed more blood to bring everyone back after TFClassics robots attacked
Plus, in one of the Halloween comics (I don’t think those are canon but still) Merasmus needs the mercenaries to fight and spill blood or whatever for an Eldritch entity Merasmus made a deal with, so Admin doing the same doesn’t entirely make sense (especially since it was Blutarch and Redmond who wanted the mercs to fight over the land)
idk I know the video/your comment is a little under a year old but I just wanted to chime in :D I like theorizing
An idea for why the comic didn't get created is because they wanted to leave it on a high note? TF2 is a timeless game, thanks the style, characters and story. So killing off the characters and just saying it starts anew sort of takes away the timeless charm of the the lore and game. Leaving it on a high note allows fans to speculate and create their own endings without having to say the mercs died thanks to some cosmic being that came out of nowhere. This is my opinion though.
they couldve just told them to rewrite the story then, valve just didnt go through with it at all
If they weren't happy with the ending, they would've just written a different ending.
I always imagined the comics would end on something like "Welp, we defeated all the bad guys! But we still have all those guns to shoot, areas to capture and people to kill so the war continues lol"
You shouldn't just blindly believe that 4channer, though.
When you think about, medic is probably survived nuclear bombs. After all, he still had 8 souls while devil only had one
Question is, where does he go after surviving? All of civilization has been wiped out, what does one do in that situation, especially for someone like Medic
@@philsfortress If this 4Chan leak is to be believed, i would not be suprised if Medic becomes the TF2 version of Adam and Eve. Where he takes out a piece of his ribs and makes 'Eve'

TF2 was never meant to have a story.
Good morning for me
@@GardeningWithTrooperThe characters and world seen in the game were designed solely to be memorable and easy to recognize at a glance
The pannels where Tom Jones is holding Scout's dying body only for Tom's form to slowly fade into Spy's in a puff of smoke are honestly incredible and it's baffling that they came from a comic made to tell the story of a bunch of mercenaries fighting over a hat factory fortune.
I just want a resolution, I don't even care if the comic isn't finished or anything. I would kill for just a quick summary of the events within the last comic.
2:18 I actually thought Left 4 Dead was one of the few Valve properties that actually concluded, the other conclusion being Portal 2. The remaining L4D1 survivors found their boat and went to the tropics, while the L4D2 survivors made it to a branch of the military that is "equipped for carriers", and the bridge exploding showing they are now probably in a quarantined area without any infected. I know there could definitely be another L4D comic showing what happened to the new survivors after they got to safety, hijinks follows those groups like the Green Flu itself, but I always interpreted that Parish ending as a victory and anything could still happen on the mainland or in other countries. But I would always be glad to return to that world with more comics or the unfinished Left 4 Dead 3, I was still satisfied with what we got as an ending.
haven't finished full video yet (obviously) but i always found a lore tid-bit quite strange
if all the australium in the world is gone, then how is saxton hale still buff unlike the other australians? at some point, its mentioned that the australium actually runs through peoples blood
what if, for more of it, the administrator has to fight hale and leech it out of his blood? just a thought..
Saxton is probably just so manly he never needed Australium to be buff in the first place.
Sax has probably had more exposure as he has an entire vault of it.
Saxton Hale is so manly that his body produces Australium, his blood is Australium, his Soul is Australium, he can do anything.
maybe every time hale seen himself loose stregnth he would train to keep it up, to the point where the australium ran out of his blood stream but he's still as strong as it gets
Its not like the australium just vanished, its because they used up all natural Australium. They didn't harvest the Australium from blood tho (assuming that there is), and its not like you need Australium to be buff
Portal 2 is honestly the one game I can recall they actually "finished". It had a great ending, no cliffhanger stuff, just a nice ending.
Every other game however, either never finish or make a new game to retcon the old ending.
Or do some weird multiverse theory.
Yeah Portal 2 ending is just great
Portal 2's ending is great until you remember that Half-Life and Portal are set in the same universe
The Combine Invasion has already taken place and GlaDos has just banished Chell from maybe the one place on earth that they are unaware of
@@kenobiwanobi889 The thing is portal 2 takes place long after half life 2
if you think about it, portal 2 takes a long while after half life 2, and since the ending shows a peaceful land it means the combine (or even the humans) are all dead
I'm personally VERY unsatisfied by that ending, ESPECIALLY to do THAT to Scout, myself being someone who's heart has been broken more times than I can count, I do not find that funny or interesting in the slightest, rather in fact I am furious at it, and am now glad the final comic hasn't come out.
i love the characters to much for them to die

Man idk how everybody is saying that the greentext comic would have been great and is a "perfect conclusion", most of it is random bullshit that wasn't hinted anywhere else in the comics and the whole Eldrich being that looks like Abe Lincoln sounds just as bullshit and made up as the rest of it. TF2 nonsense at least has some consistency, but the greentext has absolutely none, with things just happening for no reason. Why is Olivia suddenly where the Mercs are? Why did Charles Darling show up too? Why did Administrator make herself young again and waste all that Australium if she were just planning on blowing everything up to begin with? The conclusion of the cavemen just fighting is also just kind of lame.
I do agree with Asteroid being apart of plans that never worked out, and likely tied into Comic 7, but the greentext has absolutely nothing to do with Space aside from Sniper's mom just being in the rocket. Overall I hope we get the real comic 7 at some point and that it's nothing like that 4chan mess.
I Kinda imagined something similar, but with the administrator aiming a superweapon toward the Badlands where the soldier ends up sacrificing himself, and the comic ending with heavy In the future telling to story for soldiers kid and the last panel teasing the next generation of mercenaries
I imagined that at the end of the comic a portal storm opens to an orange foggy universe...

WE ARE SO BACK
TF2 comics feels like reading a book while being on drugs. Sometimes (in my opinion) events just happen too fast to the point i don't know how it happened...
In the end, im still waiting for the seventh comic to release...
I actually disagree. I think a conclusion in which every single one of the mercenaries dies is worse than not having a conclusion at all. The same thing would apply if instead they lived happily ever after. Tf2 is supposed to be the immortal game where the fighting never stops, and both of these endings contridict that. The bit about cavemen fighting seeks to remedy this, but it's just not the same, Tf2 is about the Mercenaries.
I'm fine with comic #7 never releasing if these are the only options the writers have left.

idk how the nuclear apocalypse relates to Merks fighting in space
the entire 4chan story takes place on earth
true but dont think too hard about it
@@RichterOvertime I know the universe of TF2 is ridiculous and meant to be funny but there is at least some logic to everything, i agree with the fact that Rd_Asteroid might relate to the ending of the comic.
There is an entire subplot about how the Administraitor ruined the chances of America going into space by stealing the Australium and killing Poopy Joe so the ending in my opinion would be about merks going into space to see what the Administrator was hiding from the world. The Sniper Dad's stuff even has some connection to the space travel, when the Administator wasnt weak Sniper's dad could not build a proper rocket but the moment Administrator becomes bedridden he manages to create a working rocket, i guess she was actually stopping him from going into space.
I'm really disappointed by the lack of lore completion for Day of Defeat. I'd really like to know who wins WW2
God, me too.
Here's an idea i had for a one shot tf2 comic! 30 years go by, all the mercs are dead with scout being the last one to pass on in his death bed, where he abruptly meets the rest of the mercs in hell. Despite this, the mercs are more then happy to take this eternal damnit ad time to tell stories all about their lives after the battles they faced, before forming a ass kicking party against Satan to get their souls back.
I feel like asteroid would work into the story better if the panel after the nuclear war was some cosmic retelling of a future mann co and mercenaries fighting over australium on the moon, as parts of snipers mums ship were found. A sort of endless story where every time the world ends, it restarts slightly different
Considering many stories in the writing space have that concept, I wouldn't be surprised, if asteroid was a tie in to the comics themselves.
honestly I have to agree, that (alleged) ending felt disappointing. like in the end all the characters died because some out of nowhere entity launched a bunch of nukes felt lazy.
also the whole Miss Pauling and Admin romance is a bit forced in my opinion, like I always saw their relationship as more of a mother-daughter type with Pauling being like the daughter that the Admin never had (also there's the whole age gap thing).
Something I just want to mention. I could of sworn that on the map doomsday there a warning label explaining that when austrialium make contact with alcohol it will explode. And since snipers mom is in an austrialium ship drinking wine, it suppose to foreshadow that the ship will explode in space and not just land perfectly back into earth years later like in the leak. And I spectate that the final comic would involves the mercs going to the moon into order to savage the wreckage for austrialium.
That leaked reading you gave defiantly sounds very team fortress and that got me thinking. I feel like the community could just…continue writing comics. If that was fake, then it was definitely in the spirit of the franchise.
I should consider writing a fan comic...
Perhaps that whole thing with the cavemen beginning the red vs blu war anew could be a precursor to medieval mode, since, assuming medieval mode takes place during the actual medieval era, wouldn’t make sense since the gravel wars didn’t start until the 1850s, but if they instead start in this new caveman era, the medieval mode conflicts could be a perfect continuation of that.
I think the TFC spy may have survived the soldier's attack, in TFC the spy can fake his death (similar to the dead ringer).
I don't really think it has any impact on the story but it's interesting to think about.
15:11 "TF2 really overdelivered on what it owed the world."
I never thought of it like that. You're absolutely right.

This is probably only me but if this was actually the 7th comics story/conclusion to the tf2 story
I’d Be Super Mad Because The Story basically ends With All The Mercs and side Characters Who We’re Likable Just Dead
The Conclusion is Just basically all your Favorite Characters Died All Of Them
I’d Be Super Mad if this was actually meant to be Tf2s Conclusion
me too
The leaked story sounds fairly good up until half way through when random aliens are shoved in and everybody dies abruptly, which doesn't make any sense lorewise considering Medic and Soldier are immortal (deals with the devil and magical pills from Merasmus)
holy shit that script for the 7th chapter was wild
Honestly was waiting for it to be revealed that administrator actually made a deal with G-man, would be a crazy fucking tie in even if it would be weird. My idea as to what would have happened was g-man still searching for someone or something that can defeat the combine finds the administrator and australium, he makes a deal with her in exchange for australium.
7:10 instantly bullshit. First of all: That is not the tf2 engineer's dad, he died precannon and this guy replaced him. A tf2 developer wouldn't make this mistake. Although, everything else is incredibly convincing.
Another red flag to the "supposed" story is Scout's Afterlife experience, where God literally promised him that they will meet again in late 1987. That nullifies the end-of-the-world scenario. I'm sure Scout, Sniper and Medic's out of body experiences are not mere hallucinations. But the Administrator making deals with an Eldritch horror is plausible though.
We’ve recently been giving screen shots for the next comic, I can’t wait because we might find out pyros gender and if scout will die alone

The “leaked” story you showed is 100% true I’m pretty sure because in the meet the sniper short, the sniper says, “as long as there are 2 people left on the planet, somebody will want someone dead”, which would be foreshadowing the ending of the comic. This is one of the reasons I believe it to be true
that's not foreshadowing, that's making a callback to something that was never definitively meant to build to that conclusion

Imagine this: The 7th comic comes out, you go to read it and, fair enough, the leak is pretty much the same... until they reveal Abraham Lincon and its actually just the fucking G-man. Chaos, shock and utter confusion across the fanbase and valve fans alike. No answers, just more questions.
hopefully this is not what we get now the comic 7 may have been annoucne dby jay pinkerton
left 4 dead 2's ending being unresolved actually implies that they got to safety and are living their best life now, while left 4 dead 1's ending is shown in the sacrifice comics where they get to the island.
God I've been wanting this comic so badly, I've been following them since they first started and my life might finally be complete if they release it lmao. I hope this video somehow gets through to valve that we still want the comic
My theory is was going to be used to announce a new PVE mode involving space travel.
Where they reveal the origin of Australium was not on earth, and that australia in the TF2 universe was actually the result of a hunk of space rock that hit the planet.
Said mode would have involved vehicles, epic space fights, and monkey ghosts... Lots of monkey ghosts.
All to search for the origin of the golden rocks.
4:42 I kinda chuckles to think valve said:come back. We will pay you, to not leak the stories
While its not the ending I would have liked, I agree that it sort of fits the wacky nature of tf2. I still would have enjoyed a happier ending that leaves on an overall sweeter note. Things I would have liked to see (personal headcannons)
I'm fine with Admin dying, I honestly think the (Young)AdminxPauling moment kind of works.
I would have liked to see more of the Admin's history particularly regarding the MannCo storyline and Red/Blu's father. I think it felt that there more hinted to it, rather than cosmic mcguffin.
At least one moment of the whole gang Engie included fighting/being together, like some of the really good spreads in vol 6. Also, Demo being reunited with eyelander and going full demoknight.
Scout still left thinking Tom Jones is his dad. But there would be some vague line that everyone else does know that Scout is Spy's son, but Scout still just doesn't know lol
Ideally, also the usual sitcom end of the finale style big wedding conclusion of Soldier and Zhanna and then everyone going their separate ways.
Edit: I think that leaving everyone alive rather than giving them canonical deaths allows more creativity and freedom for fans to fill in the blanks, given the already headcanony and speculative nature that many of us fans already have spun onto the mercs. It also leave them to be more timeless/iconic characters, after all Soldier did say they were going to live forever. :)
Great video and man i love the Re-Volt menu music at the end
everyone: we want more updates and comics
valve:no, too lazy
everyone:we will stop playing
valve:oh no, anyways
This video aged well
age like fine milk
i am glad it did
For the amount of time it taken for the last chapter, If it was released, TF2 might be closed forever to end everything
One thing that doesn't line up with the 4chan post is that scouts death was said to be in in the 80s, while the last comic was around an hour after the last
If the writers did want to weave the whole world ending thing in then they could have made god say it was a few hours into the future
And also an entity that looks like abraham lincoln could have some issues, because abraham lincoln is already in the comics and was mentioned as being the first pyro
Very likely it was acrually G-man.
Just replace Abraham as some really bad president that nobody remembers and then Soldier coincidentally knows about him because America.
Edit: Also just make him not a cosmic entity but a spirit
The TF2 comic series is some of the best dark comedy content I've ever experienced. Even though we might never get an ending, it brings me joy to know that a gifted artist will no doubt animate the whole thing in SFM one day.
First time hearing about this leaked ''finale'' and real or not, I think it is a fitting ending and oddly comically for TF2, hell Lincoln being there with Benedict Arnold and George Washington having been on one of the previous issues (as part of Soldier's hallucinations) doesn't sound out of place. I guess if anything and this gets enough attention, it's left up to fans to illustrate this and add more dialog so we could get a proper closure. But if not, what we have, better than nothing I guess
Portal had a cliffhanger patched in shortly before Portal 2 was released and Portal 2 doesn't have anything unresolved as much as it leaves things unanswered.
I always loved watching The Beard dubs for the tf2 comics. imo that is the best way to experience the tf2 comics
I don’t know if the 4chan post is true. I don’t think it is, but it did get me thinking: what kind of end would be satisfying for the last comic?
The administrator never said what “the debt” was, nor who she owed it too. So no matter what, the comic was gonna get a last minute pop in villain who would feel underwhelming no matter what. What is there left for the mercs to do? All the build up that happened over several comics and climax have already happened. Even ending in that iconic frame “We’re Team Fortress” which felt like the perfect sending off point. What kind of new conflict and resolution could be squabbled together in a single comic could beat what’s been building up and ultimately paid off over several. Perhaps it’s better that they never finished it…
the comic from 4chan is really great and feels like a good conclusion but i see a little issue with the story: in the robotic boogaloo comic (might be not canon since that was a community update) we see engineer from the future which means he had to somehow survive. Also i just feel like valve wouldn't wanna kill off everyone and allow for some continuation of the story. OH! and also god said to the scout in a previous comic "see you in 1987". So it would be kinda weird he dies so early and that wasn't meant to lead into anything.
I thought Asteroid was a map worked on before TF2 release and was used in betas or tests or something, so the voice lines being different would just be a symptom of them not deciding on what the default announcer lines should be. Even if Asteroid was worked on around the comics release the connection is flimsy at best. So there might've been a space update and in the comics there is a single person in space, so the two must be connected? I dunno seems like a real stretch
The Cavemen Part Really Helps Me Belive That Its Real. It Seems Like A Valve Thing To Do.
anyone in summer of 2024 when they said they started drawing the final comic
i still think it would be funny if they somehow found out gravel has life extending properties and it turns out the gravel wars actually do serve a material function
Honestly, with how the finale is written, it's sad to say, but I think the comic will coincide with an event of the end of tf2 as a game- if this script is real, at least.
The Revolt music at the end took me by surprise, don't think I wouldn't have noticed that
I WANNA SEE TF3 WITH CAVEMEN FIGHTING OVER THAT ONE LAKE THAT LETS THEM GROW PLANTS
Team Cave 2
tribe cave 3
@@smugplush 2fort lake is lead poisoned
Team ooga 2
From what I know of, the comic does exist somewhere. Not as in a comic with the scripts and funny art style we all know and love, but the script was made. But not released to the public.
My theory for why valve never finished things is because they probably believe this strategy of not concluding games gives them longevity, like an eternal “hype train” almost cuz not only are the games super popular, they have dedicated fan based who will keep waiting around for more
